Says who?
It's a natural rule that an umpire cannot change the rule of the game after the game has started. To do so will obviously mean favouring one side over the other. Does it make sense?

This judgment is a clue of what the outcome of the petition at the Presidential election tribunal will look like. I just pray Nigerians remain calm after the pronouncement, because that is what everybody is waiting for.
Nigeria will be calm after the judgement

The End!!!

This ruling has made the judgement of Tribunal judges easy…
Really? But aside the judgment didn't INEC itself vow to follow and enforce that particular guideline. It is sad how we allow partisanship eat into our psyche like this

The court held that Section 50(2) and Section 60(5) give INEC “very wide discretionary powers” to determine how it transmits or transfers election results.

“As I had demonstrated earlier in this judgment, the Electoral Act gives the 43rd respondent (INEC) discretion on how it carries out its assignment including how it transmits or transfers the result of election from polling units,” Umar stated.

Not funny but statement of fact. So he should fight Atiku to reclaim second position before jumping to fight people's mandate.

Bro, this is not about Obi or anything. Pls, we need our country to work. We need an election that is electronically transmitted to improve transparency. This is obtainable in serious countries.
We cant keep doing anyhow and expect Nigeria to grow.

I would be the happiest if Nigeria can have a reliable electoral system. U maybe benefiting from the malfunction maybe from political appoitments but for how long will Nigeria remain like this?
When are we stopping the nonsense elections we run using pen and biro to record results and manually inputing data like we are in 10th century.

But INEC told Nigerians and the whole World that they will transmit results electronically.

The court held that Section 50(2) and Section 60(5) give INEC “very wide discretionary powers” to determine how it transmits or transfers election results.

eldoradoxx:
The judgement does not affect the election case. That case was filed before the election. Yes, it is absolutely correct that INEC has the discretion to determine how results are transmitted, and INEC had in it's guideline mandated that in confirming with the provisions of the 2022 Electoral Act, results must be transmitted. Having determined so, INEC can no longer change the mode after election has commenced as it will be similar to allowing the referee to change the rules of the game in the middle of the game. So that decision is right to the extent that INEC can only decide how to transmit result before the election, not after the election.
Oga , you don't know what you are saying despite admitting that INEC can decide mode of ....

Nothing left in the presidential election tribunal. Know this and have peace of mind.

I'm not arguing that. I'm also saying that INEC itself bound itself to its own rules. Even to the extent of declaring as fake news the position that it wouldn't. Which Ref changes the rules halfway into a game?

Law makers should make laws .

Ref has written guidelines that guide them which they must follow. There is no where it’s written that INEC must transmit result electronically. INEC had the intention of using the same platform that worked for them during Osun election which was was just 24 LGAs compare to general election which is 774 LGAs. They already apologized cos they didn’t prepare well. So many glitches during the election which we saw.

Obidiotic pig, where did INEC bind itself, in the Nigerian court or Beerfraud court? INEC outsmarted the Ipobic hackers and changed the mode of transmission before the commencement of the election.
If Obi, aka Him TU Lie, and his charge and bail lawyers are not fined N100b for wasting court precious time, then I would agree that our judicial system has been compromised by the Obidiotic pigs and piglets!!!
Re: Appeal Court Voids Order On E-Transmission Of Election Results In Lagos by Nakedtruths:
This case and one at PEPT are not the same
This one is telling INEC to use a particular means or way to collate result, the one at PEPT is asking the court look into the fact that INEC did not follow its own regulation.
It's just like going to the swimming pool for a contest, one of the contestants told the ref that, it's best to jump in with both legs, court now said no, ref can decide how one can jump in, now ref now said, you will jump in with your stomach, then during the competition a contestant now crawled in and INEC is said the person that crawled in is right. Was that their regulation?
