At 10km per litre that's 90 to 100kms from 10ltrs.
Numbers don't lie bro.
When next you buy fuel reset your trip counter. Divide kms accumulated by litres bought. Repeat it like 3 or 4 times to get something of an average.
That should give you a heading, if you sincerely desire it.

You guys say these things as if you bought a brand new car.
For a 2005 corolla that has been in used for say 18yrs efficiency will drop by some percentage.
5k fuel now is approximately 8ltrs.
You won't compare the quality of fuel we get here in Nigeria with Western world.
Some stations even adjust their meters we all know this.
Modern cars have a reading so you can tell if truly what you bought is relative because you're not inside the tank of a Corolla to know exactly how many ltrs was pumped into the tank.

But the question the guy is asking is how much fuel is ideal or enough to gross 40/45k these days.

Mind you, you've to do pickups, drive to hub areas to get fantastic trips again.

Anyone arguing bolt pays better than indriver is obviously living in the past.

How much fuel is relative to gross 40/45k now using a Kia Rio or a Corolla that's the question the guy is asking

For the empty person that said he will use 5k fuel which is just 8litres now to cover MRS filling station in ahmadu Bello way down to ajah under bridge 3 times

Help me use this google map km to calculate it for that guy.

Map says that’s about 22km distance, to and fro probably means 44km
Now multiply 44 by 3, that’s 134km in total

Lolz,

now divide 134km by 8litres, his car will be doing 16.1km per litre or let’s say with 10litres

His car will be doing 13.4km per litre untop breaking and accelerating for Lagos road…

Even the manufacturer of this cars says you can only achieve 10km to 12km per litre when you’re on highway without much breaking but if you drive within city where there’s traffic lights and intersections, you may only achieve 7km to 8km per litre but the empty person wey think say nah only him sabi everything, hin fufu head dey talk say hin dey do 10km per litre

Oga, I’m putting it to you, no 1 can achieve 10km/l in city.

Highway, you’re likely to achieve it but city, never.
Stop feeding your brain nonsense imagination

Don't mind him

You get time... Before you know.it him and his agboro boys will come after you.

Most people here like zobo than bitter leave but they forgot bitter leave is always sweat in the end.

But let's not argue either, because we can't tell what type of engine he has in his car... Nissan Micra? Picanto or maybe he's using the Uber little man.
These are the only cars I see making these distances with 8ltrs not the 2012 1.8L/2.0L engine

It was around palmgrove bustop, after 11p.m, it was a lady, going to the area where I reside.
The Rider was so grateful to get a ride, that she gladly waited.
So one man's food is another man's poison.
Exactly, I'd done about 12km pickup before but I made sure she and her.family member made an oath

The ladies actually paid double the price.

It was from Ajah to Ayobo at 12mid night

Hello house hope you all are ok?

So I haven't been driving lately due to the high cost to run ridesharing and the general low demand on profitable rideshare app like Uber as affordable rider app like indriver and Rida is taking more market share.

Lately, I have been considering switching from ridesharing to a gig more profitable.

From my research, these are some alternative high-income skill anyone can acquire with dedication and commitment, so if you plan to quit rideshare in the nearest future and improve your income and general earning potential. Here are some skills you should consider.

Just wanted to comment on the first part of your post.

Manufacturers are sometimes conservative with their stated mpg. It is not unusual to get above their stated mpg irrespective of the age of the car.

I have a vehicle rated at 18mpg city. The least I get driving conservatively is 19mpg and depending on road conditions, it can go as high as 23mpg.

And like I always say, a lot depends on how you drive.

And you're right. In this PH, I have not seen any filling station without adjusted pump. Not even NNPC.

I recall mentioning that the price increase will dampen demand.

Also the market does not have infinite price elasticity, there is only so much of fuel cost increase the app companies can pass on to customers who likely are still at same income level. If prices get too high, customers will seek alternatives.

I say something on this thread, many of you don't take it, but will always find a way to twist my words later.

Ever since the fuel increment I've always maintained that the effects on driver will be less if they dump bolt that charges 25% and port to indrive and pay 10%. I've also harped since last year on the decline of bolt. I stated why and keep showing everyone how it's easier to gross 40 - 45k daily on indrive and not bolt.

How you listened to a video from a non-active driver, while ignoring my facts as an active daily driver, and use his limited facts as evidence against what I know to be true, may not be fully understood by me.

What you guys do on this thread is no longer my business. I asked everyone who wants to make 40 - 45k daily to mail me and be added to a telegram group where they can hear me out without being distracted by noise from this thread. They did and they see what I say is true. This is my current week. This is my own fact. No depleting demand from my end. You can argue as usual, but I'm done debating you guys.

On the contrary it's good and not bad when more drivers leave bolt. When as a bolt rider you can't get a ride on bolt because all the drivers are on another app, you'll join that app because you have no choice.

It's hard for Uber to lose base. They have a more international pedigree than bolt and not as high-handed.

No harm in debating some issues here, bro, there has just been a general toxicity on the thread, that isn't helpful.

You may not realise it, but even the dashboard you shared weakens your argument.

As long as I remembered and I think you've been on this thread for some years, you've grossed approx 1M every month (even when petrol was less than N100 a litre). So even with a 25% cut, you do approx 750k at least.

At >N600 per litre, you still do N1M and I understand even Indriver has raised their prices but not as high as bolt/uber, which suggests you do less volume. I also predict if indriver attempts to match pricing on bolt/uber, they will get less riders.

Lastly, at the current projections (assuming 10% service charge) , you are doing 900k but at fuel of N600 per litre. Your true profit (after all costs) is probably less than when petrol prices were lower.

So the argument that the fuel increase is not good for drivers is still sound in my opinion

Hope you removed and kept to the side money for car repairs and body pain relief. Also you can educate us on how you deal with the psychological trauma of having to compete with desperate drivers for crumbs as fares and the long waiting time to eventually get a "good trip".

Why rideshare is a decent way to make some change daily, it is highly advisable that you work on exiting this hustle in the nearest future for your own good mentally, physically, financially and otherwise.

A word is enough for the wise "Active driver"

This guy drove 15 minutes to come and pick me, then drove 25 minutes + to the destination.

I calculated the fare if i was to jump Ibadan Micras and i would spend 1, 400

Bolt charged 2000 flat. And this guy go still pay 25%.

Bolt is very very mad.

So the argument that the fuel increase is not good for drivers is still sound in my opinion
when I used to gross 1m a month, I worked longer hours. Fuel wasn't 100 naira. You don't need to lie to make a point.

I worked longer hours because I was single, and I was grossing 1m. Now I'm married, I work less than 13hrs and will gross over 1,350,000 at current work rate, or 1,650,000 if I work at the same pace I used to when I was single.

Your calculations are jargons. You can argue, but you can't argue facts.

Exactly the point I make about bolt
