Christy Ucheibe for Nigeria at #FIFAWWC  so far:

• Most tackles - 18
• Most chances created - 5
• Most duels won - 28
• Joint-most interceptions - 4
• 2nd-most ball recoveries - 23
• 2nd-most blocks - 8

Dependable 👌🏽

She holds the ball way too long too, If she jam body with Ucheibe or Ayinde on several occasions body go tell her.. We just need to be way quicker on the Flanks too as Lucy Bronze tends to overlap a lot. Millie Bright gets erratic too especially when under a lot of pressure.. Maybe a 3-4-3 can work well against them

I will love to see Oshoala and Kanu or Monday for Onumonu and Kanu/Ordega at 60 Minutes depending on who and who starts...

Onyi Echegini is also an excellent player from the Flank, especially the Left side which she played for FSU through out last season.. Randy need to see to that.
Best I’ve seen so far, but it’s not defensive enough IMO. left to me I’ll put Payne in the front 3 in place of Kanu/ordega. We lack a reliable Left wing back that will be able to absorb those English wingers, big wahala.
Except we start Onome and Ashleigh plays wing back

Great explanation, my question now is are the other big national teams adopting this system? For all i know Ciacedo hasn't been in the first team for years.
I don't know the situation of the Colombian team, so can't speak to it with certainty. But I would think adding one new member to an already shaped thing is different from adding 6-8 new members

Or we stick to our 4-2-3-1, while Onyi Echegini comes in for Tony Payne as she moves to the Flank..

Payne and Ajibade will be rotating both flanks as both can hold the ball very well, dribble and use their pace to cause havoc from the Flank, Echegini is an Attacking Midfielder who loves to have the ball at her feets because of her skills and excellent passing abilities, and she’s very good in the Air too as she can contest for a header during set pieces, if I were Randy I will start her at this stage.. If Echegini goes off, Kanu comes in and Payne move to the AM position.. Then Onumonu goes off for Asisat Oshoala..

I swear. How? Make them dey play 😂

They looked down on Africa 🌍 too much I swear.
If the two can cause stunners, it will be a big big deal. But even if the SA want to play like Norway or Germany, that their otu GK go mess everything up. Swart can't dive to save her life.

Spot on. This looks good on paper.

Hopefully it comes to pass and works in real life. Left to randy

This looks more like it. Won't mind this really.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Jojodjo: 12:50pm On Aug 02, 2023
Deploying payne as a wingback would give us little or no creativity in the middle; the team won't have a spine.

Aside from Oparanoie's less pressing when compared to Onumonu, I would have loved to see Oparanozie start.

Again, if it's not too much a gamble, Echegini should start ahead of Franny/ Kanu because both have been below par.

This Line up looks more like it as Ucheibe and Ayinde doing the Double pivot job defending and cleaning up things in the Middle, this will give Echegini more room to operate in the AM.. As we can as well enjoy the Sevilla Tony Payne who can defend, attack, run at Fullbacks cutting in or delivering dangerous balls into the Box.. Randy need to see this.!

With this Echegini can also increase her market value for Clubs coming after her if she plays well as I don’t see her opting for 5th year at FSU,.. She should follow the Nicole Payne root.!

Anyway another good news is Clubs from Austria 🇦🇹 and France 🇫🇷 are currently seeking for Onyi Echegini signature..

By the way, what’s going to happen to James. Who’s gonna mark her, I bet Ayinde could get a red card if she’s assigned to James grin and Ucheibe would be too needed around the pitch to man mark Laura James. I don’t know sha....

You seem to underate Ayinde's ability to mark and tackle; she times her tackles well just so you know.
Her composure is second to none in the team once marking/ tackling is involved

My God!!!

History Made!!! First Caribbean nation to qualify for the knockout stages.

What a team!!! Such Masterclass

Jamaica qualify ahead of Brazil to the knockout out stages. The did this without conceding a goal in a group with Brazil and France.

3 of the Jamaican team are unattached, one just gave birth.

At least 5 are college players.

A couple player in 2nd and 3rd division.

And they qualify for the knockout stages in grace.

Super proud. Congratulations Jamaica

Sure, I’m not underrating her. She’s a beast but she struggles against fast opponents

To be sincere Ucheibe and Ayinde Tackles at this World Cup have been awesome👏… They haven’t gotten it wrong in anyway apart from those soft calls from the referee.

I wonder all the hype about Lauren James, if you watch the Champions League game against Barcelona she couldn’t do anything.. Randy will definitely set up a way to neutralize her…

Again Ayinde and Ucheibe nor da shy away from such marking.

Exactly what I was telling someone yesterday; Lauren James is good no doubt but neutralising her won't be an impossible task.

Ucheibe and Ayinde have been at their best so far and Monday's encounter won't be an exception.

Another crazy result. I would love to know what Marta said to Shaw. What a moment for Shaw, to have the legend give her a heart to heart talk.

Hmmm, you’re absolutely right but I’m not wrong either. I think we aren’t just communicating the same thing, look at the English players first touch vs how we mark, I’m just worried cos if fifa gives us a Crazy ref, might be bad
