Jojodjo:Everyone seems to agree, let me watch her clips so far this year, maybe my judgement about her is wrong. I’ll be back |

As it stands now, my ground on the Game between England and Nigeria is 50/50 … Anybody can win forget the England of a thing.. If we can remain Compact we can hold them to 120minutes draw and beat them on penalties which I know too well they ain’t that good at.. We can as well win the game within the 90minutes… |

Jojodjo:It's why I stopped arguing the matter. Is it the same Lauren James that was rendered useless during the Chelsea Vs Barcelona 2 legged game? Her coach in Chelsea didn't even consider her good enough to start in both games. People watched her for one game against an inept China team and they are making it look like she's the best thing since pounded yam. No doubt she's a good player, bur we won't have sleepless night over her. |

Fun facts: Four Black-majority nations have now advanced to the knockout rounds at the WC. They are Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa, and Jamaica!! Also, Jamaica, Japan and Switzerland completed the group stage without conceding a goal |

PDPGuy:Mourinho was right, Defense is the key to being a successful team. I don’t think our attack is better than that of 2019, just organizing our defense has made us improve so much. Hope fully we improve it more alongside our pass accuracy before Monday’s game. |

@ Deltamani...would you have Oshoala has a starter or on the bench for our round of 16 game, i might have sit down imo to substituted in the second half. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 1:28pm On Aug 02, 2023 |
mowah:Yup. Without a good defense, no team can go far |

Deltamani: Daninya33:for Super Falcons to win they have to keep the opposition players away from the box because if the opposition player like Lauren James or any other player falls down in the box then its a penalty. Also England can score from outside the box through long range shots so the S.F have to close them down without tackling them Ayinde is very good at closing down a player without causing fouls only problem is she can lose possession or be fouled and the referee won't see it as a foul on Ayinde. Front 3 of Ajibade Kanu and Monday/Onumonu or Front 3 of Ajibade Oshoala and Monday/Onumonu. Onumonu does not have the pace to get through pass and out run defenders so she is better on the wings. |

carbonado:The truth is if Asisat Oshoala is 💯 fit, She will start as she’s the team star Player, her Presence alone on the field is a treat to the English team… Just that I don’t like Onumonu coming from the bench… |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by carbonado(m): 1:38pm On Aug 02, 2023 |
Deltamani:....ok...i see... |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by codemaniacs: 1:38pm On Aug 02, 2023 |
mowah:Not just a good defense... but a very good Goalkeeper... Its Nnadozie that has been the savior of this team not the defense.. stop dis-respecting Nnadozie... |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by mowah: 1:41pm On Aug 02, 2023 |
Deltamani:Spot on bro. Onumonu can’t really trouble the English defense. She’ll just help in pressing and if we’re lucky to capitalize from a mistake from the English, she can score tap in goals. But Asisat hasn’t been able to live up to expectations when all eyes are on her, but you can’t rule her out yet. Big Dilemma for our coach. We seem to have a lot of choice in our attack on paper, but paradoxically in reality, we really have few options. |

lovewins:I'd take 60/40. The gap in quality is huge boss |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by mowah: 1:42pm On Aug 02, 2023 |
codemaniacs:Sure, we classify goalkeepers as the defense too. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by carbonado(m): 1:44pm On Aug 02, 2023 |
Deltamani:...what about Desire...is she not fit yet... |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by codemaniacs: 1:46pm On Aug 02, 2023 |
Deltamani:Why don't you like Onumonu coming from the bench? I will prefer she and Oshoala come from the bench.. Onumonu can press and hold up the ball and that's one of the things that's needed in the 2nd half. Also, Anytime Oshoala starts or even comes on from the bench the Super Falcons don't pass the ball around they just blast the ball forward for Oshoala to run and score and they leave Oshoala isolated most times.. Gift Monday has also shown that she can hold on to the ball and run at defenders thereby keeping possession in the opponents half.. If Oshoala is starting then a front 3 of Ajibade, Oshoala and Monday will be the best... both Ajibade and Monday can hold on to the ball and run at defenders and can score, assist or cause corner kicks.. S.F needs to work on scoring corner kicks. |

carbonado:I heard she is, but I’m curious to know why you think Desire will be helpful in this game, I’ve also seen her as someone who plays best against smaller teams when we have most possession and someone who doesn’t fit rapid transition attack, but you seem to believe so much in her, just curious to know why |

codemaniacs:Is a goalkeeper not part of defence? Dey calm down abeg.. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Nobody: 2:00pm On Aug 02, 2023 |
codemaniacs:Our players have learnt not to touch an opposition player in our box,it will be a penalty against us. We need to remain compact at the back and maintain a high level of concentration till the final whistle is blown. Coach Randy needs to also get his selection right most especially in the attack To be honest,England is very beatable when we play with our pace and power Lauren James may be their star girl but she is also their Achilles hill. Let's exploit her weakness |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by solonnachi: 2:02pm On Aug 02, 2023 |
Deltamani:I feel that Randy has not fully utilized the skills of Onyi Echigini. Please let's give that girl a chance at this world cup. At least let her start |

Deltamani:EA prediction now has a 4th team they rated out of the r16. This is the biggest shocker of the WWC. A team that set up GoFundMe to help their campaign?? Omo. Anyway, i want to see more of Khadija Shaw. Looks like all the powerhouses of the last decade are now ordinary. Even France beating Brazil was a shocker too. |

Did some research recently. One of the overlooked statistics of the Japanese women's football team (from their amateur teams to the senior team) is their high level of discipline! They hardly get red carded or yellow carded no matter how tough their opponent is! 😯 Do you know that the Japanese women's team has the highest number of FIFA Fair Play Awards 🏆 in women's football history? The evaluation criteria for the FIFA Fair Play Trophy are based on the following factors: ▶️ Respect for the game and its laws ▶️ Respect for the opponents ▶️ Respect for the match officials ▶️ Positive play ▶️ Red and yellow cards received ▶️ Behaviour of the team officials and supporters Here are the numbers of FIFA Fair Play Awards 🏆 the Japanese women's national football team has received over the years: ⏺️ FIFA Women's World Cup (9 editions): 2007 and 2011 ⏺️ FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup (7 editions): 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2022 ⏺️ FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup (10 editions): 2002, 2012, 2016, 2018 and 2022 Only the Japanese women's team have a total of 12 FIFA Fair Play Awards out of 26 total tournaments played 😯! Recall that some days back, Japan women left their dressing room sparkling clean with a thank you note written boldly on a whiteboard after trashing Zambia 🇿🇲 5–0 in their opening match. Bonus Fact: ℹ️ Japan 🇯🇵 and Sweden 🇸🇪 are the only countries yet to receive a yellow or red card at the ongoing FIFA Women's World Cup! Discipline 💙🫡🫡!
