mowah:Onyinizidane needs to be forced into the team.. Demehin in-experience was too glaring.. so let Onyinizidane's, Ajakaye, Sebastine inexperience come and go quickly. |

semid4lyfe:Exacrly!!!!if we are being honest, most didn't give them a chance against England except for the aforementioned. Truth is, PKs are a game of luck, I feel today just wasn't out day, we rattled the crossbar twice!!!!! That said, I feel Payne shouldn't have gone out because of PKs as she is the set piece taker of the team, I would have expected her to stay on for PKs and yes Alozie was tired. After all my had we done this, hindsight is always perfect vision, bottom line is we should be proud of this team!!!! And about Randy getting a new.contract, forget about that, that guy is so done!!! |

JohnBullMySon:Imagine, we had nearly twice the amount of chances England had and only managed to test their GK twice?? Very Appalling. |

codemaniacs:Randy invited them all in Japan about a year ago, he knows what he saw that made him go for Demehin & Abiodun and not them. They were all given equal chances |

M7even:Well said. I understand people's frustration. A loss can be very painful especially when you played your best game. But we have to count our blessings: 1. This is our best World cup performance so far 2. We played 4 games and did lose any in regular time. For context, we played World no 3 who are European Champions, World number 7 who are Olympic Champions, World Number 10 who are host nation and World no 20 and didn't lose any 3. We have the worst defensive record at the world cup. This time however, we conceded just 2 goals in 4 games. Read that again, we conceded just 2 goals in 4 games. 4. More importantly, we have a team to build on. About half of the team is 25 and less. We only need a few additions and subtractions and we'll have a better team 5. I can't believe I'm saying this.but I have to "NFF, Renew Randy's Contract". Give him the support needed and watch this team fly. |

Randy Waldrum really surprised me. He performed more than I expected. He deserves more time. |

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Curtisaxel10: 1:07pm On Aug 07, 2023 |
Why a professional footballer would choose to take a penalty with her weaker foot defies all logic. I know mistakes happen but at least try and take some precautions na. It's like blindfolding yourself while driving. |

ThePresenceWtf:Bro nothing u said there did I not understand. And u are limited by your own knowledge. We played Morocco at WAFCON we were two players down and Morroco did everything and couldn't break us down even after extra time. We still had the threat when we attacked. Why did u think it played out that way, we are always ahead of Morocco in female football and we were not gonna give in to them even though they were the host nation and seemed to enjoy some officiating decision. In fact that tournament was our worst outing we probably wouldn't have qualified for the world cup for the fact that we finished 4th. Here is a similar situation with England whose football level is ahead of ours and you talk of breaking them down because they are a man down, however bad England played today and we couldn't get the kill punch we needed doesn't take away anything from our girls or those of us who support them for trying. It takes consistency. Today they were lucky we had them on the edge let's consolidate on what we have and work on it, it was good game play from. That's what we are saying. We want to be at the top of the food chain, and that comes with continuous grinding and hard work. I'm sure if we play England tomorrow again we can now beat them. Today before the game was played I never expected that we will have them on the edge. Based on their reputation in comparison with ours. All we have to do is work on what we have today to fear no team again. I hope we keep closing the gap at least and not expecting us to win a game we weren't favored to win. That's my own point. |

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Curtisaxel10: 1:12pm On Aug 07, 2023 |
I wish Waldrum can remain but NFF has foolishly burnt their bridges regarding him. Texans are a very proud people and never take public humiliation lightly especially when their ability is called into question. The good thing is that our outing has brought about win-win situation for us and for Waldrum. Randy has proven his mettle, shut critics up and raised his profile among coaches. Clubs would be scrambling for his signature now. On the other hand, we have a vastly improved team in terms of personnel and performance. Kudos Randy, success is always the best revenge. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Curtisaxel10: 1:19pm On Aug 07, 2023 |
Meanwhile, I wonder what on earth Waldrum sees in Ordega. If I didn't know better, I would have suspected that Franny's nice derriere may have secretly gracing the gaffer's sheets after dark🙂. And Oshoala was clearly off form. Probably because of her injury. Onumonu was doing absolutely fantastic in terms of pressing and link up play and there was no valid reason to take her off so early. Oshoala's entry really blunted our attack as she could neither press well, chase loose balls, nor carry out effective link-up play. Yes, she had some bright flashes but that was all. Flashes. Overall, the team did well. Big ups to them! |

Curtisaxel10:Randy already agreed to stay. He has indicated his intention to continue with the team. Osasu asked him the the post match interview. He says he'll like to continue with the girls but the decision isn't his. Left to the NFF to make the right decision now. |

lovewins:Explain to these people ..let them know. We have shows that we have the capacity of a top 10 team. But can we do it again in the next four years. That should be our goal. Can we perform at this level in the next world cup to show it is no fluke? What and what can we do to be more solid going forward? I can now believe that we can play any team with today's performance. The real problem for me is the African mentality that makes us go back and relax without any concrete plan going forward. Watch teams with concrete plans next four years like the USA. Watch where they will reach, they are more likely to end up in top four. That's to tell you they went to the drawing board to fix things. Let's also have the same plan like them, it's not so hard. This is what I define as a winning mindset that comes from consistency. It's not the one we played today where we are supposed to be underdogs and still lost as underdogs. but the pain is quite understandable. Look let me tell you all here, even if we had played Denmark it might not have been any different at the knockout for us. Four years means a lot, we can hit the quarter-finals or semifinals there. Back to back we have played round 16 now. We have shown consistency there. Last time we lost 3 nil to Germany. Today we lost via penalty kicks. Thumbs up. And we can't take away some credit from the glass house for this too. But then we are more than satisfied with the round 16 result even when we play Germany, the USA, Brazil or England again in the next round I want to believe our game should be on the ascendancy. That's all. |

M7even:Everything you just wrote has nothing to do with what I was talking about... I ask yet again, did you actually read to understand or you just feel like replying? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by codemaniacs: 1:35pm On Aug 07, 2023 |
Curtisaxel10:Onumonu was tired. Ordega, Oparanozie, Ebi and Oshoala are there due to seniority and experience... Oshoala can only thrive in a possession based team or a team that passes the ball well from defense to offense.. she cannot dribble or drop shoulders, she can only kick the ball past her opponent and try to get the ball using pace which means she would thrive if a player like Ozil or De Bruyne or Onyinizidane or Sebastian or Ajakaye or Gift Monday was in the midfield... |

Our girls tried their best but Penalty is a gameof luckFIFA should ranked super falcons among the top 20 in the latest FIFA women's ranking. They really surprised the doubters.Am so proud of them.we have a good team.so.e of our u20 and u17 should merge with the senior teams and the old Mama's should leave the team. |

I'm gonna whoop nnadozie's ass if she doesn't stop shedding crocodile tears. She ought to thank god they made it this far despite the team's below par performance. The English gals are even nice for consoling her |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 1:55pm On Aug 07, 2023 |
Curtisaxel10:You can criticise in hindsight, but every change Randy made was tactical. Even when I don't agree with it, I understand why he did it. Randy made 4 changes in this game. Let's analyse: 1. Asisat Oshoala: except for hypocrites, every one expected Oshoala to come into the game. Most of us didn't want her to start, but we expected at at some point she'll have a role to play just like she did against Australia. The fact that she didn't deliver today doesn't make that change an error. 2. Francisca Ordega: this is one change I had reservations about. I expected to see Gift Monday, but it made a bit more sense when the formation switched during extra time (which I believed Randy envisaged). Ordega and Alozie played more like won't backs to support the attack, but that role also had a lot of defensive responsibilities which Gift Sadly cannot fulfill. Don't forget she came in 9 minutes to the end of the game, so I want to believe this was the strategy. 3. Jennifer Echiegini: with a one man advantage, Onyi was brought in to support the attack and Ayinde removed. Not sure anyone has a problem with this. 4. Desire Oparanozie:. She was brought in 6 minutes to the end of extra time. The plan was to load the attack and hope she can take advantage, while also primarily bringing her in for penalities. Don't forget she's hitherto a designated penalty taker for the falcons (and a good one at that) she was just unfortunate to have missed. I personally wouldn't have brought her in, but I understand why the decision was taken. |

Idiko1:Sure. If they simply swapped for younger goalies, it would be just her still. But that bridge is finally behind us. All the politics of selection better end here and now. |

Now I See why Amaju went for Randy after Dennebyer left He wants to change our style of play, and gives direction, which Randy had effortlessly been doing, For the first time in a very loooonnng time, SF let in just 2 goals in a World Cup proper, asin just 2goals Nff renew his contract asap, while looking for a spon9to take care of his wages |
