I agree that many men from other regions of Nigeria also simp with this mentality. They even prefer to suffer in silence and smile while providing for women who give no fuqs about them. Truth is growing up I was afraid of Nigerians because I only heard bad stories about them... I never wanted to come across a Nigerian.. .. I only started getting exposed to them in varsity.

Even now I'd hear some bad things that most of the Nigerian men do here in SA... Sure, not all of them do it bad things, but it sounds like majority of them do... And apparently some of them would also use SA ladies for rituals.

And sure, there's crime in SA committed by SA men, but I'd rather stick to the thungs I'm already familiar with than those that I don't know, not that I'm saying most SA men are thugs... But I can relate more with SA men.

There's also a major cultural difference... So I don't think you guys are my cup of tea... I can't imagine myself in the kitchen cooking your native food..

My family also have this dislike for Nigerian men, that's why I'm here on nairaland to learn about you guys.

It's a myth that has grown all over Sub-saharan Africa wherever Nigerians are in large numbers.

The underlying reason is that African men don't like competing with Nigerian men because Nigerians have the means (not necessarily money) to get into the heart of women. They just know how to woo women successfully.

A police man in a neighboring country once told me frankly that "our problem is that you're taking our women. You've made them expensive. Before you all came to this country, we used to find love with little or no money"

That's the major reason.

So, stop the profiling. I once traveled to the neighboring Benin republic to write a book. I was mostly as home, researching, reading and writing. My landlord then thought I must be involved in some criminality and worked with the CIA, British and French secret services for 4 years to send me to jail because he couldn't believe there was a good Nigerian. I deliberately waited for them for years and nothing happened. He'll never come into contact with someone as good as I am till he die.

So, stop the profiling.
