Truly I prefer fish to meat, especially catfish and croaker fish. I also like goat meat more than cow meat.

We're all well-to-do on nairaland and we all afford classic sources of protein. No Nigerian dey chop beef for here. No Nigerian even sabi crayfish.

No lie for me, when last you chow croaker fish grin?

Exactly what I was thinking.

$ 418.42 worth of meat? undecided

What's the point of expressing the amount in dollars when the OP earns and spends in Naira? The dollar amount may look small. But it won't be that amount in the US, and the earning/spending potential in the US is totally different from what is obtainable in Nigeria. Isolated currency conversion is useless in cost analysis, except when it's solely used for reporting purposes.

Through the year end? It's like you don't eat meat much, I prefer fish to meat and it's healthier.

No, it's not.
Meat is more nutritious, especially for females.

It's like you ain't aware of the dangers of red meat. It may be more nutritious but has it disadvantages. Goat meat is still ok but fishes are safer.

Grass-fed beef is very okay, which is what we mostly eat in Nigeria.
Besides, Nigerians don't eat meat enough to have cause to worry.

Fishes will not give your body the iron it needs.
You want headaches during and after your periods?

Three of us decided to go to Keffi this morning to buy a cow worth 320k and we shared it. At least this will see us through the year end.

It's like you have signed contract with NEPA to give you light till the end of the year. And they will pay you a penalty if they default. sad

Ice fish isn't healthier than fresh meat.

Most of those fishes, stay in cold rooms for over 7 months, during which power failure, faulty generators...etc would affect it's texture, thus making them unfit for consumption.

I read somewhere that the lifespan of frozen fish shouldn't exceed 5 months. Unfortunately, in Nigeria, there is no authority to enforce that law so merchants can even store their imported fishes for up to a year, meaning it would exceed it's shelf life by the time it gets to the retailers and then consumers like you and I.

So technically, we're eating poison. May God save us.
nobody dey talk about frozen fish na... We own a fish pond and after sales... D ones dat are left are smoked... Better fish, sometimes dey last 3 months... Catfish o

The needed iron for the body can be gotten from other foods. I'm not against consumption of meat but the excess. I've seen cases where patients are advised to stop eating meat or reduce their intake of meat and rather opt for fishes but I hardly see where a patient is advised to eat more meat

Lol, I was going to ask the same question. She countered EVERY source of meat and fish, then at the end, didn't have an alternative... So, we should just stop eating them altogether or choose our own poison

Maybe those straight from the farm snails market women sell will be the best then
