There are legal requirements to be satisfied.

Besides, the person of interest is a public office holder.
His credentials should be public knowledge.

Understand that you must forgo some privacies once you decide to run for public office.

As you are right now, no one needs you to declare your assets for example.
But if you choose to run for high offices, not declaring such might land you in gaol.

Also, remember that courts do not entertain frivolity.
