It's no use lamenting. We have gotten used to certain way of life now the situation has changed. In developed economies they will ask you first of what you can do(experience and skill). In Nigeria they will ask you of your certificate and grade.

If the cost of living is increasing, the solution is not lamentations and name calling. The solution is multiple streams of income and cutting of costs. Everyone can do it. Who tells you that you can't work in an office and have a barbing shop as side hursle? That's what they do abroad and their GDP increases.

We all have lived false lives for a long time. Reality has cut up with us. It's time to realign. It's not tinubu's fault. Experts saw it coming for a long time. Our revenue to GDP ratio has been low and we did nothing to increase revenue.

We have not been producing but consuming. Tinubu and his team will have to make painful decisions. We don't pay tax particularly income tax. Other nations make people work so that the government earns tax.

We just love subsidy. Import subsidy through fx rate. Petroleum subsidy. Therefore it's easier to make money through buying and selling than production. Now petroleum subsidy is gone the refineries will work.

Lazy me. Lazy Nigerians. Past leaders couldn't make hard decisions. Sell crude oil. Subsidise import and that's all. Nobody thought about tomorrow. Now the tomorrow we didn't plan for has cut up with us.

The president is a hard man. He's focused on expansion of revenue Viz blue economy, gas, solid mineral, tax reforms etc. The pains must come because we lived a riotous past.

There was no other option but to end the subsidy.

Last year, debt servicing was higher than government revenues. This year, it was estimated that debt servicing would consume 96% of government revenue. Where then is the $10b for petrol subsidy will come from? The massive increase in the debt burden over the years was government borrowing money to provide the subsidy.
Lol. Do you even realise that Nigeria is an oil producing nation, not buying oil?
Do you realise that the same person and his cabinet who removed subsidy are on full time subsidy, everything?
Do you realise that despite 96% debt servicing crap and bullshit, your lawmakers are still paying themselves for going on recess?
What exactly is the function and usefulness of Nigeria government to her people?

We might be heading towards recession. They removed kerosine and diesel subsidies and got away with it but effect of petrol subsidy removal is proving to be a hard nut to crack.
Tinubu wanted to save money and he's having 48 ministers and still maintaining about 10 presidential airplane fleets.
The worst part of it is that some dullards still insist that fuel subsidy removal was long overdue. Everybody go collect sapa last last

I am telling bro I just wonder how the economy will pull out from this .. people are not even going to work everyday again because they can't afford and their offices can't afford to increase their Salaries

When u hear this phrase " save for the rainy days" now u and I can see that,it is now making sense.

See,one greatest mistake anyone shouldn't do is underestimating the power of little income.

When I was in the banking sector,as a fresher from the University,I can tell for free that I was just earning 48k before it grew to what it was then.

Na follow, follow dey make people blind for Nigeria. Read books on finance and take a hard decision for your life and live for the betterment of tomorrow.

If you what to make it from ur little income, save consistently and start investing in risky investments as a young man and see thing change for the better.

Finally,keep little or no friends.

Goodluck to u.

Survival is more likely for those who treat the situation of hardship in European run Nigeria as something being done deliberately .

Cause if you think the hardship is due to economics you may spend money like one who thinks it will improve as economy gets better.

But if you realize Nigeria is being run buy European Nazis who hate Africans like fire, then you will spend money like one does in time of war, and then more likely to be ahead of the hardship.

Always keep that at the back of your mind whenever you get a new job and plan accordingly.

Always learn to create and mind your own business even while working for others. Plan ahead people and make yourself sack-proof!

So what if Nigeria is an oil rich nation, does that mean it must subsidize refined oil products? Cameroon next door does not. Brazil does not. But most importantly, the money to subsidize it, 2.2% of GDP is simply no longer available. At least half of the country's national debt was incurred because of this fuel subsidy. It's ridiculous

Are you saying Tinubu and co are enjoying subsidy? I doubt they enjoy subsidy. What they enjoy may be more than a subsidy which is free petrol for transport. Even the American president does not pay for his movement. They are all perks of office.

Yes, it's unfair they are paying themselves money for recess. The matter arising is "how much is involved?"

Let me be super generous and say 10bn the senators award themselves but that is peanuts to the $10b (7.5tr) that the fuel subsidy will consume. It's the difference between being hit by a toddler on a skateboard and a high-speed train. There's no contest.

One function of the government is certainly not to load more debt on the heads of its citizens and see life depreciate in other ways.

Or do you want to return to Buharis days? He gave you fuel subsidy but the nation's debt quadrupled under his watch. The Naira lost three quarters of its value. The economy has been stuck in a comatose state for 8years now!

Did you lose your job. And are you ready to sacrifice your job to accomplish the aim of government.
Because they want to remove subsidy should a family man be made a scapegoat.

Oga, no matter how sentimental you are, 1 + 1= 2 no matter however you like it.

It's not just a matter of losing one's job. Many are even resigning from their jobs. My cousin who is a teacher in a school in Ikeja said 4 teachers have already put in their resignation letters. They quit.

But there's no choice. We're the government to continue with the subsidy, the government would have no choice but to.print money which is very inflationary and would lead to a sharp fall in the Nairas value. That was what Buhari was doing.

There will be a lot of changes in the economy as it adapts to the removal of the petrol subsidy.

I will give you a simple advice. If you take it seriously, you will build wealth quickly. If you play with it, you have yourself to blame.

I will delete this post after 2 hours because it is a great secret, given to me by a good friend.

This friend of mine is an Igbo business man, a graduate too. Shout out to all Igbos! May our heads never run dry with business ideas! Iseeeee!!

Now, what is this advice?

YOU CAN NEVER BUILD WEALTH WORKING FOR SOMEONE!!

That's it!! Have this mentality and you will start growing in wealth.

So, how do you build wealth?.

By creating your own product. Now, you may ask, how do I know what product to create?

Any product based on regulation will always sell and bring money into your pocket.

What are these regulations?
1) Hunger
2) Climate or weather conditions
3) government policies
4) current trends in the society
5) hmmm... let me stop here. No much talk abeg

So, how do you make money with all these?

1) Don't save your naira in a bank. Thats useless to me. Instead;
2) with every penny you earn, create or cheaply buy a product (based on regulation). Keep re-investing in the purchase or creation of this product for atleast 6 MONTHS.

3) Make sure it has become so massive that you practically wants to dispose them for sales.

4) Wait until its regulation has come into full force. Then aggressively market the products.

5) What else should I do? When you make huge sales. DO NOT SPEND WASTEFULLY!! DO NOT DELAY!! QUICK! QUICK!! Re-invest back into the business!!

That's it. That's how most successful igbo business men run their businesses.

3 KEY SECRETS IN BUSINESS:

1) Have more than one source of income.

2) Drastically minimize expenses.

3) Quickly and consistently re-invest into your business.

Finally,

When there is high inflation and financial hardship in the country, what do I do to stay afloat the inflation?

The only TWO WAYS to stay afloat the inflation is:

1) guy I dey talk too much ooh
2) **secret...secret**

Take those advices and watch your life change.

Remember, Those who desire to create wealth do not work for others, they create their own product.

The shege is still going round, and one corn filled head is saying that this govt. Will lift 133m Nigerians out of poverty, we had same promise from buhari and co, and the reverse was the case, in fact, buhari sent millions of Nigerians into abject poverty, making Nigeria the poverty capital of the world. Tinubu said he'll continue fro where buhari stopped, so expect poverty promax on Nigerians.... But, we have hope, our mandate tinubu and his agbado gang stole from us will be restored in full, and Nigerians will finally be free from this slavery foisted on us by politicians and their cronies. For you to quickly accept the narrative of wanting go use the funds for purpose the govt has never excelled in, means you are part of the corrupt clique up there. Same set of people who believe the govt are same people saying govt shouldn't own businesses or run businesses.

Last year, debt servicing was higher than government revenues. This year, it was estimated that debt servicing would consume 96% of government revenue. Where then is the $10b for petrol subsidy will come from? The massive increase in the debt burden over the years was government borrowing money to provide the subsidy.
