meanwhile obi got 95 percent in Igboland while PDP APC couldn't see even 10 percent each yet u open ur gutter to tag others tribalists... U were expecting LP a small party to win ahead of PDP or APC if not delusion... Southwest PDP LP APC got good votes unlike south east that's one way traffic yet u pple call others tribalists when na Ina be tribalists...
Obi was by far and away the best candidate you olosho. Should igbos vote a criminal yuroba into office so mumu's like you can say we're not tribalistic? God will continue to punish you people for your stupidity

Everyone outside of the tribalistic yurobas knows Nollywood was put on the international map by igbo people. The nollywood everyone knows are the original igbo films shot back in the late 90s and 2000's. Igbos combine great acting, beautiful people, and a nice mix of english and igbo that allowed those outside of Nigeria to enjoy. The clips going viral on tiktok everyday are all from classic nollywood. Not yurobas can never give igbos their props for being pioneers. Its pathetic and reeks of jealousy.
Pioneers? Did you read the write up at all?

You are a known noisemaker here...

Nigerian film making was nothing until Living in Bondage hit the market...

How many people apart from those reading from textbook knew Hubert Ogunde?

Go to any African country be it in Kenya or Tanzania or Uganda and sample the perception of people about Nigerian Nollywood and come back and cease noisemaking...

You guys need to rise above the pettiness of seeking validation by this futile competition with the Igbos...

Nollywood is over 60 percent Igbo content...
igbo people are beautiful, speak english well, and are loved all over the world. its no surprise they were able to make nollywood what it is today. Haters can go drink sniper

The foolishness of some Nigerians is overwhelming and that’s why we will keep having problems in this country if we don’t do away with such mindset of tribalism in every aspect of our lives, any small thing Yoruba any small thing Igbo any small thing Hausa etc, have you all at anytime hear from Hollywood that some set of people own it in the US? Y’all letting tribalism got into your heads as far as I am concerned Nigeria as a whole owned the Nollywood and other entertainment industries y’all should go and die with your tribalistic attitudes is becoming so disgusting

I'm sure those who were grown up in the 80s also have same for Igbo rap that Lagos is not aware of. Just like Lagos know da grin in this generation but don't know Massai and slow Dogg and think that phyno is the first Igbo rapper because he moved to Lagos. You get my point?
bros... Bring out the evidence here... I listen to music alots in the 80s.... Most of the local rappers then with a record are all yorubas...

Dey did not represent YORUBA but nigeria...

Anything movie started with yorubas...

Both cinema and recorded tape.... That's my own point... Now that

Irony1:
Dude you are dancing everywhere and avoiding making a point. Commercial motion picture business is Nollywood and not theatre. Get the memo. In the 80s and early 90s you can never go to the market to buy or rent Nigerian movies, it was always American movies, the trend changed when Living in Bondage came in, and it was igbos that started it. That is the crux of the matter so it is rather misleading for someone to say Nollywood which is commercial motion picture started with Yorubas that is a big lie.
Most Yoruba actors were not even in Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) before now...

They were in NANTAN or something and were calling themselves theatre practitioners.

How some funny people can contemplate trying to contemplate Nollywood which was almost completely the brainchild of the Igbos defies credulity...

Yes there were the likes Omotola and Ramsey Noah in Nollywood but the overwhelming majority of the leading casts who made Nollywood were Igbos...

Before now, more than 60 percent of Nollywood scripts had Igbo plots one way or the other..

Oga, stop arguing blindly...

We are talking about TV and radio plays here...

We are talking about Nollywood...

Of course, Wole Soyinka was famous for Kongi but how many people have heard of the work outside Yorubaland and those who study it as an academic course material?

Almost virtually nothing was known about Nigerian film outside Nigeria until Living in Bondage hit homes and cinemas..

You continue debating the obvious...it is your time you are wasting...

the first commercial home video produced by anyone in Nigeria was produced by Mr Ajiboye aka Big Abass in 1988, and Late Alade Aromire produced his own home video in 1989, so Yorubas started the Nollywood before Igbos joined in 1991 and finally produced a home video , Living in Bondage in Nigeria in 1992, the 3/4 years difference is huge and should not be discountenanced

What everyone did before then did not matter, it started only when Ibos entered the game,?

Yoruba absolutely doesn't compare themselves with Ibos.
We got almost everything ahead of Ibos. Ibos were playing the catch up, not us.

You see why most of you are unteachable. Even when faced with facts of history and reality, you are still arguing. What you were doing in Iweka was doing catch up and it was many decades after it started in Yorubaland.
Home videos did not start Nollywood. It was TV that started Nollywood.
This is why ,till date, no single Igbo film even none of those from upper Iweka, can match any of Baba Sallah's Films.
You don't know because you are ignorant to think Nollywood started with home videos or home video production started in upper iweka. It's not true.
The Yoruba will not teach you the real nitty gritty of these things if you are not humble.

They will just watch you. In fact, Aisha said too much. Nobody takes those upper iweka films serious here and overseas. They are cheap and don't even last long. Yoruba started and still own Nollywood

That you're quoting Desmond Elliot alone tells me you don't know nada. We are talking about Pa Hubert Ogunde, Ade Love, the father of the award winning Afolayan brothers, Baba Sala, you are quoting Desmond Elliot. Smh
Your Baba Sala and Hubert Ogunde were not done under Nollywood stable...

They were theatre productions and there popularity were limited to the South West and NTA....

The same way the New Masquerade led Chika Okpala/Zebbrudaya was not Nollywood...

Throwing up tantrums will not save you from being corrected and your falsehood and propaganda debunked.

Can you mention one standard movie he acted?

It is high time yoruba ppl become selfish and Conservative. We need to stop sharing what we created and owned with others. Yoruba brought media to Nigeria (WNTV), when other tribes were looking up to the sky counting birds, in western Nigeria we were already watching TV and listening to radio. The eboes joined the nollywood very late from 1999 when vcd was cheap to buy and piracy was out cake. They were acting English movies under yoruba ppl. Look at the list of movie producers in Nigeria, majority of them are yoruba. Pls tell me any eboe producers that have produced a mega blockbuster movie both local and international. Its high time yoruba movie producers use only yoruba ppl. When you share what belongs to you with ppl like eboes they will claim it as their own. That is why I like kunle afolayan, he only use yorubas in his movies. The entertainment power house of Nigeria is in yorubaland, the eboes lack the capacity to create anything good within the SE, all they do is to feed on what others have done, then try to hijack it. Eboes think nollywood is English movies, while others are not part of nollywood, they think yoruba movie is another movie institution. Nollywood is a general name for all movies produced in Nigeria, it is the institutional body of movies. Thank God we have evidence, eboes would have use lies and propaganda to steal everything from other Nigerians.

Yoruba started Nollywood yet, most Yoruba actors and actresses didn't break through the English version of Nollywood from baba suwe to Mr latin down to Femi adebayo.

The Igbos gave Nollywood life and since Yoruba actors and actresses couldn't break through the English version of Nollywood probably because their English sucks, Dem kuku create Nollywood Yoruba to console themselves.
It is not until you do things to impress the whites before you can have a breakthrough, that your originality matters a lot.
That's why you see so many oyinbos attending Osun Osogbo festivals every year, they try to learn our culture through our language, mode of dressing, food and even marrying us.
If Yorubas English sucks, let it be like that, let them subtitle our movies as we always do to Indian, Chinese and Korean movies.
