FreeStuffsNG:The foolishness of some Nigerians is overwhelming and that’s why we will keep having problems in this country if we don’t do away with such mindset of tribalism in every aspect of our lives, any small thing Yoruba any small thing Igbo any small thing Hausa etc, have you all at anytime hear from Hollywood that some set of people own it in the US? Y’all letting tribalism got into your heads as far as I am concerned Nigeria as a whole owned the Nollywood and other entertainment industries y’all should go and die with your tribalistic attitudes is becoming so disgusting |

igwebuike01:bros... Bring out the evidence here... I listen to music alots in the 80s.... Most of the local rappers then with a record are all yorubas... Dey did not represent YORUBA but nigeria... Anything movie started with yorubas... Both cinema and recorded tape.... That's my own point... Now that |

Irony1:Most Yoruba actors were not even in Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) before now... They were in NANTAN or something and were calling themselves theatre practitioners. How some funny people can contemplate trying to contemplate Nollywood which was almost completely the brainchild of the Igbos defies credulity... Yes there were the likes Omotola and Ramsey Noah in Nollywood but the overwhelming majority of the leading casts who made Nollywood were Igbos... Before now, more than 60 percent of Nollywood scripts had Igbo plots one way or the other.. |

GoodLife4live:Oga, stop arguing blindly... We are talking about TV and radio plays here... We are talking about Nollywood... Of course, Wole Soyinka was famous for Kongi but how many people have heard of the work outside Yorubaland and those who study it as an academic course material? Almost virtually nothing was known about Nigerian film outside Nigeria until Living in Bondage hit homes and cinemas.. You continue debating the obvious...it is your time you are wasting... |

FreeStuffsNG:the first commercial home video produced by anyone in Nigeria was produced by Mr Ajiboye aka Big Abass in 1988, and Late Alade Aromire produced his own home video in 1989, so Yorubas started the Nollywood before Igbos joined in 1991 and finally produced a home video , Living in Bondage in Nigeria in 1992, the 3/4 years difference is huge and should not be discountenanced |

there is some thing i noticed in Nigerian, just like Messi and Ronaldo. Ronaldo compare himself with Messi while Messi compared himself with maradonna. Yoruba people compare their selves with igbos while igbos compare themselves with American and western world |

FreeStuffsNG:Your Baba Sala and Hubert Ogunde were not done under Nollywood stable... They were theatre productions and there popularity were limited to the South West and NTA.... The same way the New Masquerade led Chika Okpala/Zebbrudaya was not Nollywood... Throwing up tantrums will not save you from being corrected and your falsehood and propaganda debunked. |

ElSudani:You're a bigger fo ol for not reading up on him before disagreeing with my claim. Same way southwest had him was the the same way Igbos had chika opkala, zebrudaya etc. None of their theatre arts was done under Nollywood standard. Lest I forget, he is into opera(folklore), music and so on. Can you mention one standard movie he acted? Stop being emoti onal and mischi evous abeg. |

It is high time yoruba ppl become selfish and Conservative. We need to stop sharing what we created and owned with others. Yoruba brought media to Nigeria (WNTV), when other tribes were looking up to the sky counting birds, in western Nigeria we were already watching TV and listening to radio. The eboes joined the nollywood very late from 1999 when vcd was cheap to buy and piracy was out cake. They were acting English movies under yoruba ppl. Look at the list of movie producers in Nigeria, majority of them are yoruba. Pls tell me any eboe producers that have produced a mega blockbuster movie both local and international. Its high time yoruba movie producers use only yoruba ppl. When you share what belongs to you with ppl like eboes they will claim it as their own. That is why I like kunle afolayan, he only use yorubas in his movies. The entertainment power house of Nigeria is in yorubaland, the eboes lack the capacity to create anything good within the SE, all they do is to feed on what others have done, then try to hijack it. Eboes think nollywood is English movies, while others are not part of nollywood, they think yoruba movie is another movie institution. Nollywood is a general name for all movies produced in Nigeria, it is the institutional body of movies. Thank God we have evidence, eboes would have use lies and propaganda to steal everything from other Nigerians. https://www.google.com/search?q=liat+of+top+nollywood+movie+producers&oq=liat+of+top+nollywood+movie+pro&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j33i10i160l2j33i21j33i22i29i30.14495j0j7&client=ms-android-samsung-ga-rev1&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

LagosPrince:It is not until you do things to impress the whites before you can have a breakthrough, that your originality matters a lot. That's why you see so many oyinbos attending Osun Osogbo festivals every year, they try to learn our culture through our language, mode of dressing, food and even marrying us. If Yorubas English sucks, let it be like that, let them subtitle our movies as we always do to Indian, Chinese and Korean movies. |
