The biggest mistake an investor can make is to avoid the market because the market is bearish. Bear market is the time to sow and compound your portfolio, bull market is the time to harvest and diversify your investments 25 Likes 4 Shares |

Frangel: If you still held your GTB at N5.10 your annual dividend today will be on a yield of above 62% minimum. To even think that dividend should increase from current N3.20 being paid. That would be jackpot for retirement for those with substantial holding at that price and still holding it. |

unite4real: You didn't include bonuses in your calculations his 1 unit would have grown to about 7 units, so his cost price would technically be less than N1 and dividend yield on average cost price of over 300% 3 Likes |

unite4real: I still dey learn. For example, a N5,100 invested in 2001 for 1,000 units of GTB would be worth about N255,000 (7,096 units, bonuses inclusive) today. About N195,000 total dividends received to date. Assuming dividend was reinvested... The ROI in % off my calculator, lol. The above is not normally reoccurring, but a pointer to what a good investment can be in the long run. On the flip side, a bad investment could be worth just the paper it's written on. Stock investing is like a marathon. 7 Likes |

Frangel: All these are possible if the investor know how to value a stock or a business, and the investor is getting predictable income. Around November, I got an intrinsic value of N45 for Dangote Sugar after making provisions for a margin of safety of 30%. With this understanding, the lower the price the better. I want to believe that the reported poor performance of Q2 was deliberate. Apart from the profit after tax, every other thing like gross profit, operating profit, earnings Before Interest, operating cash flow and margins showed tremendous improvement 1 Like 1 Share |

emmanuelewumi: This was posted on the 31st of July 2023. Some management would not make made the forex losses known to us until when the accounts would be audited at the end of the financial year, by then they would have sold if they are not sure of the long term sustainability of the company |

Dangsugar and Nascon have brought me back. My Dangsugar holdings have surpassed the proportion of Zenith on my portfolio, thanks to sheer gains and some previous top-ups. Where is Oracle? Where is the generational low? Has the US economy crumbled? Where is YoungBuffet? Has crude crashed? Has the market tanked? Sugar has crossed my projected 45. In short, let me fire up my spreadsheet. Most of my predictions have been beautifully surpassed. 5 Likes |

emmanuelewumi: Look at the chart below of Dangsugar. The horizontal green lines are my attempt at making a "volume profile." Each line length shows the total volume at which a trade was closed. The longer the line, the more trades were closed at that price. I have a theory. If you look at the lengths of the past bars, you will notice that they keep getting smaller. To me, this is a sign that the uptrend is not yet exhausted. I believe that the uptrend will continue until I start seeing longer bars. My explanation is that the big players are privy to some good information and are not selling yet. 3 Likes

phoinix:Many sound minds and people with privy information will stop posting on this trend because of people like you. You radiate negative energy You seriously need to tone down your negativity. You attack people unprovoked. You did the same on the Treasury Bills forum, the moderator had to pull out all your post If you miss the train , queue up for the next one . Stop attacking people that know better than you . The nuisance you constituted on the Treasury Bills forum has been cleaned up yesterday, don't start another one here. 22 Likes |

Shalom428: You are a confirmed MUMU, for those who are not in that thread, one popular poster turned the thread into a toxic outlet. If you had any sense, you would have understood that I was there countering him. You are probably in support of the trabalistic nonsense the other poster was spewing. By saying that, I have confirmed that sense is far away from you. |
