You don't need a POLICE CHARACTER CERTIFICATE to obtain a study permit!

My Son Landing Update (to help guide others in line with our common goal of helping one another)

Took Air France from Lagos to Paris to Vancouver to Winnipeg (no transit visa required)

Air France requested for admission letter, letter of acceptance, school fees payment receipt and passport (with visa in it of course).

He gladly told me he was given his study permit without being asked any questions (obviously happy because we have over drilled him ready with so much questions etc.). Was told by the border officer to submit his passport and letter of introduction while other documents (POF docs) were given back to him.

His Port of Entry was Vancouver, so the experience may not be the same for everyone. Advisable to be over ready.

We thank God for a smooth journey for an unaccompanied Minor and we saw God's hands all over it.

Yes!!!

There are so many folks who have announced getting their PPR without including a PCC and neither will you see a REFUSAL based on not subimitting a Police Character Certificate.

Hello. If you have the money, go ahead to do it. It is cause it’s quite expensive some people don’t do it and some have been lucky enough to get approval without it.

Remember it’s different visa officers which means that what works for officer A might not work for officer B.

But my own advice, it’s better to be on a safe side and get the police certificate done.

Please PCC is NOT required for study permit or temporary visa applications. There is no but or if about it, it is not a required document, anyone adding it does not know and it does not weigh favourably for the applicant.

You only need it when you are applying for permanent residence from some certain countries.

Hello house, pls I need advice on this issue.
I got an addition to University Canada West for April 2023, so I deferred the admission to September 2023 so I will have time to prepare for my self. I submitted my visa application on the 4th of July 2023, I received my PPR on 10th of August, and I submitted my passport to Vfs on the 14th Of August and got my passport back on 29 of August, I received letter of Introduction today. Now school are supposed to resume on the 25th of September, I have already book my flight ticket to 20 of September. But now school send a mail to me that they don’t have enough space for students for this September anymore that they will defer me to January intake. I replied the mail and said No that I don’t want to be deferred. They now said the only option I have is that I should be in Canada before 8th of September. I have to cancel my ticket and reschedule it to 5th of September. Student Advisor from the school now called me today that even if I come to Canada before 8th of September he not sure that they will be able to enroll me for September…. My question now is that even if I accept to be defer to January. Do I need to let IRCC no that I have been defer or is it Only new LOA from the School that I need.

When they send you a new LOA, send it to IRCC so they can update your profile. Your visa will still allow you to enter Canada by Dec/Jan. My issue is all the dates you have been rescheduling with the airlines hope it has not been costing you money. These schools that just keep admitting without considering their capacity.

Interestingly due to short time between getting passport stamped and his travel, i was seeing one-way tickets at prices higher than 2-way. Had to book 2-way (with return fixed for summer holidays next year) for economic reasons and not border officers matter. I doubt if Border officers ask for your ticket (though Airlines share information with them)

Really appreciate your insight sir, indeed some of the one-way fares are costlier than some of the return tickets. Can make more informed choice now, thanks.

Hmmmm thank you so much for this!
So the best route is to forfeit this admission?
What if I don’t declare my ongoing study?
I didn’t mention it while applying to the schools I sent applications to.

Hello Queenlyt,

Most likely if it does not demonstrate a study progression or correlation.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by nnemak(m): 7:36pm On Sep 01, 2023
In some stress now due to this. My advise is use DHL or UPS and send to VSF office in Lagos , ie if you want to walkin and pickup in Lagos VSF after processing . Else send to Abuja and be reedy for fast (2-3 days) service, but be ready to pay for sending, paying for processing and paying for returning.. Not funny because these vsf guys don't explain process straight
Amicableoga:
Please, is it true that DHL doesn't pick up the passport again from VFS after stamping? Again, can VFS move someone's passport from the Abuja VFS office to the Lagos VFS on their own?

Please, I studied Estate Management and I want to apply for Health care Administration and service management in Conestoga university Canada . What are the Subjects required of me since I did not have Chemistry and Physics in my WAEC result.

Will it be possible for me to switch course like that?

Please I need a clear explanation on this

Hello Tevecino,

Best to opt for a study related to your current experience line. If it is related to Estate Management, a Project Management course should be ideal.

Good morning house,
Please I will be travelling on the 10th September and am yet to receive my letter of introduction from IRCC. I have collected my stamped passport since on Monday this week.
Pls what can I do?
Thanx

Hello Chummygirl,

Most times, the correspondence letter is not asked at the point of entry but if it should in your case, you can present the PPR letter, if by the time of your travel, the COR letter doesn't drop in your online account. Just explain to the CBSA officer when asked that the letter wasn't received.

A friend of mine wanted to apply for a visitor visa but he was told me that one agent applied for him last 4 years, as the whole thing look like scam or deceiving him.

Because he said he went to VFS office at Lekki and he was submitted his passport and I asked him if he done biometrics or capturing? He said NO, now he wanted to apply for a visitor visa. How can I help him to confirm if he as done a biometrics before or if truly the agent applied for him that time?

He said his passport was send back to him by his agent through a bus in osun state lol and since then he stopped picking his calls as at that time.

Attached below is the only slip giving to him

Hello gurus in the house I need help.

A friend of mine wanted to apply to a university in canada buy the name on his WAEC is different from the one on his Passport
Pls what can we do or it does not matter.
Abeg quick response o.

Hello OTSAMUEL,

It will be best for your friend to use the name on the passport. An affidavit of name correction can be sworn to support the wrong name entry on the WAEC certificate.

Guys please my brother is going for a four years course and my father is the sponsor is a business man, but he initially does not have a business account but sudden he created a business account which is not even up to two month but funds of 15 million naira is in the business account and formaly has a savings account worth 25 million naira six months statement , but we intended using the personal saving account for the application, the issue is that based on these high dollar rate we intend transfering the money form the business account to saving account as lump sum and also pay the first semester tutution fee from the lump sum when. The money is already in the savings account to show that is not for demonstration purpose, please guys any suggestion to these

Hello Iceboyblog,

This is only a suggestion for your consideration. If evidence can be provided regarding the N15m deposited once in the account, maybe from a contract award or investment proceeds, it shouldn't be a problem. All that is required is a justifiable reason for using a newly created account to receive the funds.

In the case that proof cannot be presented, go with only the savings account whilst including sufficient documentation to support the existence and activities of the business. You don't have to move the funds from the current account to the savings account to be used for your application.

If for a reason your father's bank cannot charge the corporate account to pay the tuition, move the funds to another savings account then pay the fees from there. Unlike Ireland, Canada doesn't require international students to use the same account for the application purpose to pay for the tuition fees as a demonstration of the legitimacy of the funds. Considering your program is 4 years, try your best to offset the 1st year tuition.

Hi all,
Someone asked me if he can land with an expired medicals. He was supposed to start in January but due to initial refusals and delay he deferred to September. Now, his medical expired early August and he just discovered it today with flight already scheduled for Sunday and school starting in next week.
I don't know the answer. Will there be an issue for him when he lands?
