Brownking:

Go and take a look at Dubai and UAE and see what oil money can do, Port Harcourt is still 1billion miles behind including Nigeria as a nation. Don't feel like the government is trying by giving you crumbs like a dog and making you feel like they are doing a lot. We deserve better as a nation and they go do better.

As an ibo man, you must wail on this beautiful thread, since no place is developed in alaigbo

So, Port Harcourt is one billion times behind UAE?

Why do all of you talk like illiterates?

Rivers state has been fortunate to have high performing governors over the year.

Wike, actually. Amaechi had good intentions but outsourced them to thieving local contractors who did nothing.

Wike is a thug and it tells on the state, but he performed better than the last two predecessors. If he'd worked on security too, Port Harcourt would have been a thriving tourist city too.

The problem with Port Harcourt is greenery and poorly built community settlements dotted in the heart of the city. Presently the City itself has the smoothest roads and inner streets compared with other Nigerian cities besides Abuja. If everyone can plant trees in front of the houses it will give the city a facelift.

Use your damn brain.

The UAE population is 9 million and their oil and gas reserves plus daily exports are 3 times Nigeria's.

That is equivalent to giving Abuja alone 3 times Nigeria's annual income annually to spend.

What will they not be able to build, including the world's tallest buildings, if they like?

You are extremely moronic to be comparing the two countries just because they both ''sell oil''.

You went to school yet you reason like a mumu.
u also don't know what u saying. So is by population? So u have population than China and USA, yet, they getting it right. So why using population to judge wickedness of our leaders.

Not true.

The only outstanding one since 1999 was Wike

Gov Odili was so wasteful when he was in office.

Wike constructed roads in many villages that never had roads
lmao cap .... Amaechi was outstanding as well as odili.....

So because Wike built roads he is better than Amaechi ?

Amaechi that built primary schools and health centres in all LGA , employed 13k teachers ...sent students abroad through RSSDA irrespective of you knowing anyone ... Bugama and Songhai farm that Wike administration left to rot ...

Obirikwere interchange... And other roads .

And you say he isn't outstanding

Port Harcourt is an Ikwerre City so it's an Igbo city . The only people that will wail are either Yoruba or Ijaw not Igbo. They will even try to say it isn't Igbo.

Anybody who writes Wike as 50% of Amaechi is neither a Rivers man nor resident . Only a politician or someone directly in Wike's circle can write such fallacy. Amaechi built more groundbreaking roads but governance has more to do with impact on the people at community level as well as welfare of workers.

@lexy2014, why are you running in circles? You said PH isn't as developed as Kigali. And I asked you why are you comparing a country with a state. How that sounds confusing to you, beats me.

I lived in PH for more than 8yrs. It's not really as beautiful as you depict, definitely not close to Lagos or even Asaba. You have chosen a view that passes your message. Old GRA and GRA look great.

But the areas where the ordinary man can afford is definitely subpar.

God bless PH and may she become a true garden city.

The expanding city met the community settlements. Funny enough, it's an Ikwerre community settlement pattern to always have buildings that cluster. Its everywhere in Ikwerreland.

Port Harcourt is better than Lagos. Only selected parts of Lagos is better but majority of Lagos is slum and unlivable

PH just like Lagos is a glorified slum. Their mates such as Cape town, Pretoria, Casablanca and Alexandria Egypt are far more beautiful than they are but we Naija people are always good in celebrating mediocrity.
