Cant see anything too.. No ph.d economics, no investment banking experience, no world bank/IMF experience, no snr banking experience (being a chairman of a bank is very different from being in mgt position where u can't perform without serious banking training)
All I can see is commissioner and NED of citi bank
I mean Otedola is an NED of a bank- does that make him in anyway fit to run CBN?

I am Yoruba but the guy has a watery cv, his banking experience is shallow for such a position. Anyone can be a bank chairman that is purely the same as a board member, with the right connection you can be a bank board member or chairman.

Remember GEJ appointed Emefiele. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala was the Minister for Finanance, and we know where the Head of agencies come from. Abraham Nwakwo, Aruma Oteh, Anastasia, Oscar Onyema, Orji of NSIA, etc.

This is not to support nepotism, but to remind you of the reality of our country.

His only experience in the financial sector was as a commissioner and then Citibank blablabla. Where is Citibank today in the banking industry?

Yemi Cardoso: Former chairman of Citibank Nigeria, a distinguished leader in the financial and development sectors with over 30 years’ experience in the private, public and not-for-profit organisations. With diverse corporate governance experience, Mr Cardoso has also sat on the boards of Nigerian subsidiaries of Texaco and Chevron and chaired the board of EFInA, a financial sector development organisation supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation.

Mr Cardoso served in government as the first Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget for Lagos State, where he championed the financial reform process which led to the state’s development of independent tax revenues.

In his capacity as a consultant and policy expert, Yemi has advised and collaborated with major international development organisations including the World Bank, Ford Foundation, UN Habitat, World Health Organization and the Swedish Development Foundation.
