How Japa Changed My Life Within 3 Years: A Story Shared From Place Of Grace by Nobody: 3:09pm On Sep 17, 2023
I left Nigeria to Canada late 2020. Five days ago, I pre-ordered my first iPhone which is a 15 pro max and it’s meant to arrive in the next weeks. Although, I’ll be paying for the phone installment-ally as paying fully will kind of shrink my savings a little bit, but As someone that has never used an iPhone while in Nigeria becuse I can’t afford it, this is an achievement and more to come.

You should see it from the context of where he is coming from. He might not have gotten to where he wants to be yet but he has certainly left the place he was before. It is an achievement.

What does it take to be happy for me? What does it take to congratulate me instead of tearing me down? Citizen of the most poorest country in the world . No wonder none of you can afford to eat two meals a day not to talk of buying an iPhone

Don't be too quick in looking down on people living in Nigeria. Remember that majority of your family members are still living in Nigeria.

Do not insult them because they raised you up and cared for you when you were growing up.

Also remember that the richest Nigerians live in Nigeria, so whatever you hope to be in Canada, the system there will never allow you to be richer than the richest Nigerian living in Nigeria.

Sorry for buying your 1st iphone with a loan.
I would have congratulated you if you used the loan to buy an asset, rather you took a loan to buy a liability, not a good financial decision.

iPhone is not an achievement,I thought you wanted to say how you have acquired a house or car , you are only making Tim cook richer.

Heck he might even be using old model iPhone why y'all are playing keep up with lastest gadget.

The difference between the poor and the rich is mindset

You spent 3 Years in Canada and your highest achievement is an iPhone. Poverty followed you to Canada.

It means to buy a Tesla, your entire family needs to work and reincarnate for 7 lifetimes.

The richest Nigerians are based in Nigeria, not outside. Your problem is that you're from a poor and disadvantaged family. You never travelled out in your entire life and so, you are a local champion where you are.

Look here, you Trans-Atlantic pauper. Small boys in Ikeja have shops full of that borrowed iPhone you're bragging about.
He turn iPhone to building project. Using years to pay for iPhone.

You were making sense at first before you decide to go the Yoruba Ibo way. Don't insult the Yorubas, we are not nincompoops. Don't let me change it for you!

No one’s rich in Nigeria. Stop deceiving yourself. Most of the celebrities in Nigeria will kill to get a student visa in America to earn better money. U can make more money washing yansh in America in one year than Davido makes from music in his lifetime . Nigeria is a poor country. No one has ever make it in that country without goin to white mans land

Sorry to ask, but, how old are you? 🤔

For you to think that everyone responding to you is hungry, is really worrisome.

I mean once I assume everyone here’s from Nigeria, the maths get easy. It’s Nigeria we’re talking about. Most of you, or over 99% of you people over there don’t even have up to 50k in ur account. A country where y’all beg to eat? 99.9% of Nigerians will kill to come and wash plate in Canada jus to be here. Now imagine why I won’t get angry because a dimwit from the poverty of the world, Nigeria, insulted me

Congratulations!
You made the right choice to Japa.

But it doesn't mean all people back home are suffering financially, despite the odds.

The difference is, it's a lot easier to live comfortably abroad, even if you don't hammer over there. But no one is comfortable in Nigeria no matter how rich you are, there are many unwarranted headaches to deal with.
