We that came late sef still met it oo in Amazon FC Dartford, some of us were making almost 1k weekly sef. Let me break it down . First four days for night shift is 13.5£perhr, then 5th day is 18.5£ then 6th day is 21.5£ max you could do is 59hrs. The sweet thing is the weekly payment. 😋

I heard DHL was even paying better.

Don't know about now

Let me blow your mind, when Amazon opened another FC and needed workers, if you agree transfer to the new FC you get 5k £ as Moving expenses.

Hello everyone,
Please I need advice.
I'm in a situation and i need advice on how to opt out.
So my uncle wife took advantage of my wife because of too much respect. (wifey bleeped up big time). We recently moved close to them because she's the one who helped us with COS. She recommended a cooking pot (salad master) as we needed to set up the house and kitchen, but i declined immediately after i heard the price (4200 pound DD payment for 4years for 5pcs set.)
During the chat, i discovered she'll get about 500quid referral and thats why she's desperate for us to buy it. The discussion happend about 3 other times and my response was no. My uncle got involved at a point and he also supported her wife because that's what they use too but i insisted. Then she turned to my wife and start to convince her but we'd already discussed and it was a NO.
Fast forward to a month after, my wife was in their house sleeping, she then woke her up only for her to see the pot has been supplied, and they were already cooking with it for her induction and to use it. In the prescense of the supplier, my wife tried telling her we've already discussed this many times and we were not interested but she cut her and told her since they were already cooking w

I got to know that day and i got mad at her, how can you let her lure you into a 4k financial engagement despite several discussions, she just dey cry and she was preggy....
Now, COS no get shift, there's no work in cardiff at all and all the load is on me. DD is 94quid per month and it's choking.

Here is my question, is there anything i can do to opt out legally? we're 6 months into the contract and it feels like forever, i dont mind losing 1k just to opt out, but i dont wanna do this no more... We can't afford with the all the bills and expenses we already have.

It's tiring...
I look forward to ya'lls suggestions

Sorry I don't have a good suggestion o. But that uncle's wife no too like you guys sha. That kind of unnecessary debt for such a long period. What kind of pot is so expensive, does it come with food? I hope you get it sorted cos it makes no sense

Na wa o .. . Just looking it up .. .Company that was founded in 1946 by Harry Lemmons o and a naija now happens to be CEO is suddenly up to no good?

It further says "Saladmaster is constructed from 316 Stainless Steel that is stabilized with Titanium, otherwise known as 316Ti Stainless Steel. 316Ti is a premium material that is non-reactive to the acids and enzymes in your food." which to me the bolded sounds healthier.

Doesn't look like a scam But hey, what do I know smiley

Ralphlauren:

People should learn to always research and apply common sense.

If the salad master pots are SO FANTASTIC as they claim, why are they not sold online, in shops or even amazon ??

They perpuate their scam by this referral/direct sales method.

They claim their pots prevent cancer, etc.

I remember looking up the website years ago and when I saw their CEO with a full blooded nigerian name embarassed i knew they were up to no good. grin

https://saladmaster.com/executive-bios#:~:text=Ayo%20Olaseinde%20is%20a%20self,sales%20journey%20in%20January%201982.

They actually make "forever living" sales agents look lie saints. grin

I don't even know which is upsetting me the most - the price of the pots or the fact that his wife took a finance deal with full interest to buy them. angry angry

You no need any special CV oo, just apply and September to December is usually called peak period and you get 500£ bonus if your attendance is topnotch during this period. Main thing I hate is is the break, it's for 30mins for a 10hrs shift

Mine was 2 breaks of 30 minutes each. And yeah, they pay as much as £2,000 Welcome Bonus around November.

Funny how people are screaming of tales of waist breaking, "you no go survive"... LIES! One thing I noticed at Amazon is that Nigerians and Indians complain a lot! And they don't last long. It was good money and the job didn't need any heavy-lifting. It just needed speed and many people complain about that as they wanted to rest or sleep during working hours. 99% of Nigerians left to Care Work because they said they could sleep during the shift or rest.

Not too sure how this will fly .. You now want to raise a complaint after 6 months of use? I doubt if you will be covered by the Consumer Rights Act especially when it's not a replacement or repair. Give it a shot and see how it goes though.

I totally agree with all of this and that is why you will see Romanians topping everywhere in ware house jobs, I moved more with the Romanian than the Nigerians, Indian and Pakistan who are always complaining .
There is even room for promotion , A Ghanaian friend I made while there is now a manager in less than 5years and this was majorly due to his consistency and also getting a good rating which has to do with speed.

Especially if the post cost 2900 but the deal for installments payment over 4years adds 1100 to it.

Hilda got her pots cheaper I'm sure cos there are great brands for good cookware that will last you years.. Besides Hilda is a chef

No matter what people say about Amazon I can never bad mouth that company. It was a life saver and lifeline for many newcomers including myself. Working with Amazon made me help to pay up the balance on time of my spouse sch fees. It’s the major reason I never had any financial hardship starting up in the uk. I only stopped working there when I got my corporate job with one of the big 4.

Amazon is awesome and I think their contributions to humanity is under appreciated. Am never ashamed to say I worked there and the benefits I enjoyed and so many people can say same too.

Romanians! They have totally hacked it. They work so hard and fast, and flourish at Amazon. I enjoyed being with them cos they don't complain, just earn their money in peace.

This is all shades of unfair.

Because of the space I play in, I know Salad Master cookware very well.

It has a lifetime warranty but because it’s so expensive, they don’t display it in any store, the only way they market is by free demonstration.

Meaning, they only demonstrate with their set and never with the one they want you to buy.

So please know the game they played was a calculated wickedness.

Please give this a fight.

yolkman20:

I believe my uncle's wife is a friend to the lady who supplies the pot, she works with a company who owns a franchise with salad master. So she brought the pot to her house when my wife was there and as standard, they have to use the pot to cook for you in your house to educate you on how it works
and all of that. We moved it all to our apartment that same night.

We paid for our COS ni o, it wasn't even free.

On spot, you'll them set a DD for monthly payment. The pot itself if 2900 while the total payment after installment is 4200. I have been keeping mute just to avoid issues but it's getting choked.

We are not staying with them, we’re just 5mins away from one another. The lady who do this thing na my own Egbon wife o, not my wife. It’s crazy man.
Cancel the direct debit. Cancel. Cancel. Cancel.
Open ur bank app and do it this moment.
Also lodge the complaint using those keywords. This is the UK. This is wicked. Open ur bank app and cancel it. 4200 pounds for pots . Jesus Christ.

You caused this.
Three reasons why your tongue was tied then and you could not talk and that’s why they took advantage of you people.
1. You paid for COS so already they know u are desperate and can not distinguish pressure buying
2. They used yoruba style to enter you, based on respect you could not say your mind and decline to their face
3. JJC . A lot of people fall victims just for been newcomers . So this reason happens quite alot

I can tell you for free that as long as it is coming out from ur card, start by deleting it now. No one can force you to pay a direct debit payment and then continue via the complaints route.

It’s true, please.

Salad Master is so expensive, they don’t display it in any store, they demonstrate to potential rich prospects to sell it.

One may never hear of it if you are not in a certain income bracket because the marketers carefully qualify their prospects.

I wonder how a “supposed family” member will be wicked enough to force it on people still trying to find their feet in the UK

Because you have a "fantastic credit rating" and being chased to apply for credit cards does not mean people (especially new entrants) should get interest free credit cards and cancel every 3 - 6 months. It might have worked for you but that does not mean in entirety that it is the right thing to do as a new comer.

The same way someone earlier inferred that, as they got post study visa within 2 days, that should be the norm.

The advice was for me. I followed it and it worked. I didn’t understand why you seem so hellbent on carrying this argument.
