Food for thought - Germans see you as Halmitic race from europe settlers.
Italians see you as illegal immigrants.
North Americans see you as non-human apes.
Japan see Africa as continent in need of help. So as China.
China see you as black faces with bad luck.
US see you as primitive and full of disease. They also see Africa as a jungle full of wild animals.
Australians see you as primitive.
Koreans see you as people without water and basic amenities as depicted in the movie shooting stars.
Some people see Africans as fraudsters especially Nigerians. Also see Africa one poor country.

Stereotyper of Africa gotten from wikipedia.

I just talk say make I remind you ni ooo. No pun intended.

Tell me which of these is not true?

Africa and its people are a blight upon mankind.

Not only Japanese. Americans and Europeans (UK, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, etc) too. I've experienced that a lot. Right from the airport coach to city trains; they never sat beside me. It embarrasses me. Who else has experienced it?

Btw, I'm not foreign based. I only travel and return.

Well, it is what black people have to face when outside their dominant environment. The only solution is for the dominant environment (sub-Saharan Africa) to be prosperous. Once that is done, everyone would want to befriend black people. No one likes poor people. It sucks, but na so life be.

A simple example...in the UK, a group called the National Action which hates immigrants has been unable to hold marches openly because the government no let them

50 years ago, in the same UK, groups like the National Front, which were anti-immigrant.(and from which National Action is descended from)...could march and say what they wanted to say, and no one would do nothing.

There is room for improvement though. I didn't say it is uhuru yet. cool

Fair enough, compared to the days of "No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs", it has improved. But the fact that anti-immigrant parties & organisations like UKIP and EDL still exist in the UK and have members says a lot.

just dont believe anybody who tells racism is not a life threating ordeal.
Dont take lightly cause your career, and very life depend on it
YouTube search for experience of black Americans and west Indians with racism, dont listen to the experience of ass licking sell-out materialistic Nigerians. Cause if you listen to Nigerians you will not get a sense of how dangerous racism is to every aspect of your life.

And usually the European cults and individuals that are hardcore racists are usually also witches and satanic sects.
Examples the Nazis of old and thier moderns day Neo Nazi cults are deeply into witchcraft and Satanism.

So that anytime you experience racism, beware not to let them make you angry, they act calm whilst making you angry cause they are witches who want to steal your energy. Always maintain a good steady deep breath when around them , or going to be around them.

Dont listen to the opinion of Nigerians who will sell thier mother for visa about racism , internet search the experience of black Americans and west Indians

Shame on you fking sell-out Nigerians forever ever, where ever you see fellow Nigerians their behaviour towards fellow African is often worst than even the racist , i disown you people. Overtly materialistic shit people , listening to opinion of Nigerian about racism can put your life in danger, cause they love to lick oyinbo ass. This is why black Americans and west Indians hate Nigerians, and Nigerians are gona get into serious trouble before they learn what side the ground is on.

I doubt if most of them downplaying racism and defaulting to the issue of tribalism have ever traveled out of Nigeria before.

"Telephone Conversation"

The price seemed reasonable, location
Indifferent. The landlady swore she lived
Off premises. Nothing remained
But self-confession. "Madam," I warned,
"I hate a wasted journey--I am African."
Silence. Silenced transmission of
Pressurized good-breeding. Voice, when it came,
Lipstick coated, long gold-rolled
Cigarette-holder pipped. Caught I was foully.
"HOW DARK?" . . . I had not misheard . . . "ARE YOU LIGHT
OR VERY DARK?" Button B, Button A.* Stench
Of rancid breath of public hide-and-speak.
Red booth. Red pillar box. Red double-tiered
Omnibus squelching tar. It was real! Shamed
By ill-mannered silence, surrender
Pushed dumbfounded to beg simplification.
Considerate she was, varying the emphasis--
"ARE YOU DARK? OR VERY LIGHT?" Revelation came.
"You mean--like plain or milk chocolate?"
Her assent was clinical, crushing in its light
Impersonality. Rapidly, wave-length adjusted,
I chose. "West African sepia"--and as afterthought,
"Down in my passport." Silence for spectroscopic
Flight of fancy, till truthfulness clanged her accent
Hard on the mouthpiece. "WHAT'S THAT?" conceding
"DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS." "Like brunette."
"THAT'S DARK, ISN'T IT?" "Not altogether.
Facially, I am brunette, but, madam, you should see
The rest of me. Palm of my hand, soles of my feet
Are a peroxide blond. Friction, caused--
Foolishly, madam--by sitting down, has turned
My bottom raven black--One moment, madam!"--sensing
Her receiver rearing on the thunderclap
About my ears--"Madam," I pleaded, "wouldn't you rather
See for yourself?"

It's common here in SA...
Our brothers are the reason.
Infact when these lots have nothing on u...they'd simply just tag u a drug dealer..
Another systemic discrimination is the non renewal of permits... and as it is currently Zimbabweans are also feeling the heat.

Trust me I know how you feel. However, I’ve been favoured here in SA. I’ve worked with two of the biggest banks and other notable firms. It just saddens me how our fellow Nigerians behave here, especially the drug peddlers. However in my own little way I’ve tried to be a bacon of light for my home country. I hope you’re okay?

I'm in the US, based in the Northeast. It's here. My friends with black boys have to have the conversation with their sons about how to interact with police. It's sad to have to discuss. And also to remind them that though they may live in the same neighborhoods and go the same schools as some of their friends, at times they may not be seen or treated the same.

My niece was telling me the other day, that she's not pretty and her hair's not pretty. She's 9. Was confused and then she explained that a white girl in her school told her that her skin was dark and hair wasn't soft.. blah blah blah. Adults can manage, understanding that we need to manage, but if you live in areas that are not predominately black, children can bear the brunt.

That hurts like damn.

Yeah and there were laws in the past too.

Just that people did not follow them at all back then

But compared to times past, racisim has dimished. At least as a black person in say the UK, you won't get denied accomodation by a landlord so long as you got the cash to pay.

I understand that some discrimination has reduced because of laws, the Caribbean community in the Uk paved the way for other blacks, they suffered in the hands of skin heads and people shouting go back to Africa which literally increased their aggressiveness towards whites, this aggressiveness still exist today among blacks of all heritage.

btw. i was reading a statistics of uk with regards to job opportunities according to race, blacks are the bottom of the food chain in the uk, about 30% of blacks are doing low skill/low pay jobs compared to other races and this is from the official data from the uk government

Never encountered one. No red light ticket. No police stop ever since I came here. I live in a 90% white neighborhood. Infact everyone loves my accent. The police know me very well. I also recently help them catch a murderer. I have been watching the guy and use dash cam to record him. Something in me never went well with him. God bless America. May dollar keep climbing In Jesus name 🙏 grin

The tribalism in Nigeria is worse than the racism in America.

Like somebody said sometime ago it is better to live in an advanced country with racist than to live in an under developed country like Nigeria with tribalism

Even me I have become tribalistic as I can not be friends with a Fulani man as I see all of them as killer herdsmen now. Will you blame me? After seeing Fulani herdsmen kill, kidnap and rape people with non of them brought to justice by government.

As much as I despise racism, some of the rednecks may have a little justification for racism and if I may play the devil's advocate for a bit. Their country is developed, they've managed to build a working system through sheer hard work over the years and some of them have never had contact with blacks before. Also, there are some places where blacks are always in the news for the wrong reason all the time.

What exactly is the reason behind tribalism? All the tribes in Nigeria are equally backward with very little to show the last time I checked and we are the same fvucking black skin.

Why exactly does one backward tribe think they are better than the other backward tribe? it's the same shit in different toilets.

I apologize for my frankness.

Smiling at you?
Smiling for you?

Smiling about you
Or just smiling?

They do these a lot here and it makes me quite uncomfortable.

Smiling is obligatory for them.

They might hate your guts and still smile at you.

Very good question. All the white/black people there were astonished. Some had their mouths open and the others were giving him that 'wtf' look.

I simply asked him if he was on meds that he skipped that day that made him think he has a green colour. He never turned up for work again after that. I still wonder what happened to him. That was about 15 years ago.
Mad ooo . This my mad ooo I'm screaming in for cos the whole situation is jaw dropping.
And he didn't turn up for work again after that day. Weird stuff.

If someone never experience racism in the west it could be for any of the following reasons :
1 - The person is extremely lucky
2- The person never amount to anything
3 - the person has no notion of subtle racism or everyday racism.

Number 3 is apt.

In naija and nairaland where the tribalism is so bold and brazen, its almost impossible to detect subtle racism.

People can be difficult as humans, does not necessarily mean they are being racist.

The only person I have had an issue with was my next door neighbor who called the parking authority when a guest parked on his part of the shared property line even though he has my number.

Dude is married to a black woman and has biracial kids.

I would not argue with you and may be you may probably right.

There are still hundreds of other white countries where blacks are living comfortably that were never developed the said blacks.

The 8th wonder of the world is why blacks are still unable to develop their own country in 2023 and Nigeria is a case in point.

The blacks that developed the USA did so under close scrutiny and supervision of the whites. Left to themselves, the USA will be like Nigeria.

Nigerians have no moral rights to discuss rasism when tribalism and religious war is our Succour here.

By the way a year in Canada, 2yrs in India, and few in UAE never experienced it first hand

No politician had told me anything about racism.
Canada has a specialized commission that deals with racism. It is called the Canadian Human Rights commission.
The data of this commission are available and you can make your own conclusion based on those data.
You have been in the US for 7 years and never experience racism ... hmmmmm ... What do you do for living if I may ask ?
We may just perceive racism under different scope of vision
