This is why federal government owned universities school fees are increased by 500%. All along ASUU strikes have all been about salary increment not about standard and quality education.

now that SOME of the conditions have been addressed and signed, will NLC still go on strike?
That's not minimum wage.. that salary increase is only for Higher institution

The day the press your bress speak out, if you're not comfortable with the 12k salary, quit.. Don't come here and be posting rubbish.

This is good news from the FG to the tertiary workers.

My heart goes out to all hustling private secondary school teachers still struggling to climb to ₦12k from the never increasing ₦10k. As if that is not enough as a female teacher, the director of the school will still want to press bwess and wipe.

My heart bleeds..

this would sound as good news : but Nooo. But the naira is almost like tissue paper 📜.

That Increase will basically achieve nothing ..

I still believe Tinubu should relinquish 65% of his presidential powers to peter obi . Just like the Kenya example where Uhuru Kenyatta split power with Raul Odinga..

Tinubu and his cohorts are extremely confused . Peter obi is the magic Dust they need

In Indonesia their minimum wage is in millions of their currency like 3.5 million rupiahs
Ours is supposed to be approximately at least 150, 000 naira.

Minimum wage of 1970 is far higher than 2023 min wage of 30k.

So Nigeria has retrogressed, it has gone backward in terms of wages.

Honestly, it doesn't change much. Inflation would soon eat the increase.

Allowing universites to set the price of their school fees....OR increasing government revenue 20 fold....is the only way for better unis.
Come how much does the average Nigerian make to afford so this price gorging you're advocating for in all facets?
Increase electricity tariff
Increase fuel price
Increase school fees

What about the market woman? I hope you'll agree they Increase the price of commodities too
And landlords Increase rent
And services Increase price so everybody can feel alright

there's something i later realized the more FG increases workers salary the harder the country becomes
food and other stuff will increase too

the only things governments can do is start parking those useless youths roaming about the street, empower them into farming
nobody want to farm but they want to eat chip food,

i tire for this country

pls how much will it cost me if decided to relocate to Togo cry cry
So what are you suggesting?

Are you saying that government should have maintained minimum wage of N18 they were paying per month in 1970 and continue paying it in 2023? N18 monthly salary in 2023 how does it sound to you? This is what you are advocating and what you would have done if you were President.

What they added is approximately 60,000 after tax. Lecturers deserve x3 of their present salary considering the economic situation of Nigeria

It's not. A professor currently earns around N450,000 (same thing he's been earning since 2009). If you add 25% to that, it's N562,500. For a whole professor. Is that for accommodation or to see your kids through school? Now, that is a crying shame.
