I would have taken d VP comment as a joke..
D DGM of even a tier 3 bank cannot be earning less than 1.2 M per month.. It is an accomplished position. So
1.What is d languishing in that?
2. Why should a politician be earning more than a bank GM?

1.2M? Baba update yourself fast ooh. SM sef no go gree collect 1.2M cheesy grin

Try and find out properly before making comments next time. Even Shettima retired at a position of similar status with DGM so what is he really bragging about

But that was over 14 years ago now

Your comment shows that you're a novice. No be everything you go deh shook mouth for wetin you no know. Deputy manager(DM) is different from Deputy General Manager(DGM). You think say to reach DGM position for Nigeria Bank na moi-moi.
Don't mind him, I doubt any bank uses Deputy Branch Manager as a designate, it is the Operations Manager that deputize for the BM.

Mr Shettima’s recent remark cements his reputation as a politician who lacks tact in communicating an opinion without denigrating others.

Yeah. And he was in the North East
I can bet he couldn't have moved up so fast if not for some affiliations he had.
It's easy to see through the line that he moved up because of his connection across North East and not necessarily competence at his job

My dear, I wonder some kind of youth we are producing.

The DGM worked hard to get to his position in the bank. I wonder where in the World a DGM would be seen as an underachiever. Except 9ja. In a serious country, should a VP earn more than a bank DGM?

Shettima belongs to one of the most elite families of Borno/Northern Nigeria.

The name Sir Kashim Shettima is known everywhere.

Its like someone from Samuel Ladoke Akintola family in South West.

It's someone like Tinubu, despite all the uncertainties around his person, that one must respect. He truly seems to have come from a humble background and worked his way up the murky waters of 9ja politics. Not this garrulous VP.

It is either VP Shettima was envious of Usman Oladipo's brilliance while in school or he is pissed that Usman hasn't, like other former classmates, come to worship him and seek favours from him. And now, his being VP afforded him an opportunity to get back at him. The statement sounds mean and he needs to apologize to Usman Oladipo immediately.

In alternative he should submit Usman Oladipo's name for an immediate juicy appointment as payment for image damage. grin

But on a serious note, VP Shettima needs speak with a lot more caution. DGM in a bank is a senior management position attained through years of legitimate professional work experience.
You think he didn't know that before he made that comparison? He knew exactly what he was talking about.

Deputy General Manager for someone who graduated as best student in the early 90s. Is it good?

Shettima himself once worked in the banking sector and within 10 years, he became the regional manager before venturing into politics.

Some mumus are saying he could be jealous of his friend. This is Shettima who was once the regional manager in a big bank.

Make we dey reason before publishing stories na.

Are you serious? a DGM is not a deputy branch manager, you guys are just kids, as a DGM, his salary cannot be less than 4m naira monthly, his official car is not less than 70m and he gets to change the car every four years....you guys need to grow up

Plus free tuition paid for 4 kids maximum anywhere in the world, paid domestic help, personal driver (NOT official driver), MAD ALLOWANCES which is the main perk of the role. Shetimma like his followers languish in ignorance.

Please before showcasing your ignorance on SM, always do a little research. A DGM in a bank has annual renumeration of about 30m with other benefits. He is in no way a small person in that organisation. If you research properly, you might not find up to 50 DGMs in all the banks in the country.

His renumeration is more than 4X what you quoted. 😀
