Nigeria is still quite expensive considering that the Indian rupee has held its value compared to the Naira.

Using Minimum wage, Nigeria won't be among first 20. Our minimum wage is one of the least

#30k. The question is how have they been surviving?! What is the percentage of Nigerians who are being paid 30k?
Use your brain.

So why are the countries with high minimum wages not regarded as the cheapest with respect to their cost of living? grin

For foreigners not citizens. $1=1050 naira why won't it be cheap. Minimum wage 30k. Can 30k take care of your feeding alone? Try and use your brain b4 dropping yeye statistics

Exactly. 30k minimum wage is not upto $30 USD. Why will Nigeria not be cheap?

The only reason why this is the case, is because of naira to dollar exchange rate. Is only cheap to foreigners who earn in dollar and other currency

That is a lie... If you have 500 naira which is less than a dollar, you will eat to your satisfaction. It might not be what you prefer but at least you will be full. Average price of fufu is 100naira.. If you eat 3, 1 meat and pure water. You will still have change. If you live outside Lagos you can still get houses of 80 to 100k a year, even some places in Lagos are cheap but might not necessarily be standard.

I no understand all these statistics

Looking at the trend
You will notice that richer countries with high human development index and GDP are the most expensive to live in

They get value for their money

I feel reverse is the case in Nigeria
and if you flip the coin it also means that if it's so cheap to live in Nigeria then it should be equally cheap to manufacture in Nigeria due to insanely cheap labour and export your products afterwards, my unskilled staffs in my manufacturing plant earns 50k monthly and despite that being an equivalent of miserable 50 dollars monthly, there are hundreds of people seeking to come into the job desperately,

With the current rise in the cost of living!

How to manage?

It is not good news

That is what PBAT was aiming to achieve. Weaponized poverty to pauperize the masses so as to accept just any labour wages to be able to feed! shocked shocked shocked

He feels that foreign and local investors will just rush and invest in Nigeria due to ultra low cheap labour, very low standard of living. Without creating enabling environment, constant power supply and zero level of insecurity in place.

Without sentiment or prejudice, almost everything is free in Nigeria.

There may be poverty which is in every country, but this about Nigeria is a reality.

I'm a proud Nigerian and I'm optimistic Nigeria will be more better in me and those who wishes so lifetime.

God bless The Federal Republic of Nigeria

Akanbi rag tag, can you take your miserable 30k minimum wage to go and live cheap in other countries but they can come here with their minimum wage and live like Kings.

Cheap,, in what respect. Is it in relation to the income of the citizens or just gross prices of commodities?
Because if you do it by purchasing power, Nigeria is not very cheap.

It's actually amongst the cheapest because we really don't add value on paying taxes

Even me myself don't pay taxes.

But I can't try that in other developed countries.

This data is old and is no longer reliable.

Everything just changed since 29th May, 2023.

People now sleep by 7pm because they can't afford electricity.

Most has packed their cars.

Minimum wage is now equivalent to $18 per month instead of per hour that's obtainable in some countries.
