Observer25:Exactly. There is no need to defend the sponsor so aggressively in this case. He should keep it short and simple just as you said, and allow the VO ask him questions that will give him the chance to defend his home ties. That's where the effort needs to be and not in defending an 8k deficit. Honestly, thet should have gotten in that their second attempt...Everything about their profile is good but it's clear that the first interview highly influenced the verdict of the second |

anyanwukelechij:Your friend or boyfriend being your sponsor really puts you in a tight spot.. It’s likely a red flag to VO because there is no blood or marital relationship. It also shows that you dont have strong hometies since your bf/gf lives in the US. Your destiny is different … you can still succeed. |

anyanwukelechij:Your BF can find out how it works by asking immigration lawyers or people who have done it. My limited knowledge is that when you’re given a visa as a fiancée/fiancé , you have to consummate that marriage within 90days. Per your chances of getting a visa, if I knew that, I’d be working on Wall Street as a stock trader making millions 💰💰$$ |

anyanwukelechij:It's called K1 visa There's a thread on nairaland ask there And it's your bf that will start the process in the US for you before you apply |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Taal17: 3:58pm On Sep 29, 2023 |
BigIyanga:No be only consummate na consume. ![]() Lol They have to get married in 90 days of the other person's arrival in the US. There's a thread on nairaland for that. |

aelai:As to what has changed, you could talk about your retrospection and how you realized you were not eloquent enough in passing across the information which you believe was the reason you were denied. |

aelai:Using my own understanding, I think your shortcomings is not trying to have your own life/business/field outside your dad's own. Ok, look at it this way. VO: What have you done since then? You: I started my own pharmaceutical company, which main business deals majorly in supplying small(optional) medicine stores in the rural areas with the help of me and my sales team, why my manager handles my physical store while I am on supply duty. Again, having seen the way I handle my own business, my dad gave me a temporary employment to oversee the hospitality section of his business portfolio as a 1st level manager or 2nd level manager or line manager(just find any role that suits that position which you can work temporarily or remotely). If he ask while you are traveling to us, you may want to say "to help you in your journey of starting your own production line(Pharmaceutical company) since you already have the sales area covered and available market. Extra: because you feel your people(Nigerians) don't have adequate access to medication blah blah blah. As to what has changed question, extract the answer from the ones above... For example: I have been able to open/start my own enterprise/business which deals on drug supply to medicine stores in rural areas of my state blah blah blah. This has made me more financially stable, more focused i.e my drug production plan, and lastly more resolute/unwaivering in life. Depending on the vo, the answer may show you as someone who won't Japa but come back to his or her country once they are done with their study, that is they may believe you have every reason to come back to Nigeria since you have a growing business and a very promising plan. Well, that is just my opinion on what you posted here. |

LudaChriz:Even with the Bsc, your profile looks great, especially with the publications. You shouldn't have issues bagging fully funded PhD offers either as a TA/RA. Immunity04:You can try me, would check if I got the time. |

GboyegaD:I'm not aware of any time they used to post date on nairaland, neither did I say they MUST join whatsapp groups. If I was still in the date search groups myself perhaps I would have helped him/her out |

If I may add to what others have already written, I think you would need to work on your funding. For example, you graduated in 2016, it is expected that the deficit should be funded majorly (if not solely) by you instead of your dad. You should also state how much your earn and how much of the deficit you will cover. More so, the correlation between your intended course in your masters degree program, your BSc and your current work do not seem to align very well. It would have been good to focus you graduate program on pharmaceutical science or any other field that is much closer to that instead of biology. In summary, just as the last VO that interviewed you pointed out, you need to change something in either your deficit, course or school,... aelai: |
