I think children who were under 6 years of age as at the last time they applied for a visa need to go for biometrics. I'm having same issue, my 8year old was able to use the app while my 6 years old has to go to the center because she wasn't yet 6 the last time she applied and didn't have her fingerprints captured.
Nope. My colleague’s 9 month old twins used the app.. the 5 year old they asked the boy to come for biometrics. .. but the twins used the app
Note the 3 of them had done biometrics in UK before though.. so no one can really understand how the app selects its β€˜precious’ candidates

not for kids pls. This is clearly stated on the www.gov.uk website. No child born in the UK who is a dependent child would be asked for Nigerian passport inorder to apply for a visa. Adult- maybe. Child = capital NO.
This is not true as they are permitted to apply for leave to REMAIN with the UK birth certificate alone.

What lolo said is right. I went through this process last month. This is the new way. I had to take my child for capturing at UKVCAS and a passport was required as part of the process.

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far, one more question please. I didn't have to visit the UKVI centre for my biometrics when I renewed my visa last year and a couple of people I know as well used same app this year and recently as well.

However, for the kids there was no option of using online biometrics app, is this the norm? Do kids have to travel for visa biometrics within the UK?

You'll be asked to go to a UKVCAS center for capturing for your kid. No biometrics, just capturing

Hi Guys,

Please I need help.

I am filling out a visa application for my mum for the purpose of attending my graduation.

1. Is it normal in the application process to to request details of her parent? lol, it is kind of funny and i just wanted to get clarity.
2. I have gotten to the pay part on the application and i do not see anywhere to upload documents, and it says if i continue after this page, i will not be able to make any changes. Please is the uploading part after payment?

That will hardly stop the abuse of COS.

I doubt the abuse of COS is their primary concern. People are willingly paying to get COS . Most of that cash paid isn't traceable to the specific care agency. Ppl probably paid middlemen and likely they paid the naira equivalent .

It's the optics of reducing net migration, as well as the news coverage of people with families stranded in the UK.selling ALL their properties move to the UK. That doesn't help the politics of the party next year.

if they were truly invested in stopping the abuse of COS care jobs they would do more than just remove COS license (which doesn't stop the care agency from operating).
They won't cancel that category either not whilst NHS gan has shortage.

Sometimes it is painful to realize that we are a blessed people, yet we suffer for the minutest things. I did export business while in naija...charcoal specifically, and I saw hell, before things started to get better and I ran back to start writing "patient was apparently well until 2 days ago ".

When I see how farmers in other African nations don't have to go through these rigours, I weep.

At this point, I don't even mind exploring East Africa.
Hey bro ,can you please shed some light on the Charcoal business. My friend and I are still thinking about the business. Do you mind giving some advice

I agree with you, this is just political campaign for next year general elections.

If they genuinely want to stop the abuse of COS they start interviewing care visa applicants , demanding proof of those jobs they claimed they applied for. Demanding that care agencies guarantee foreign workers a certain number shifts per week on arrival.

When these dubious care agencies are caught abusing COS don’t just remove their licenses they also need to hit their bank balance.. The current punishment is just a slap on the wrist.

Number 1 is a standard requirement during the process of filling most visas.

I hope your child was born in the UK? If your child was born in the UK, the UK birth certificate is all that would be asked for to secure their very FIRST BRP. Stop capping!!! I am tired of all this misinformation

First BRP/First Child dependent visa for a child born in the UK, all that would be required is a UK BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!!!
Whatever happens for a child in a different circumstance is what does not concern me.
I have kids and all that were born here, nobody asked me for Nigerian passport first before getting visa. Pls. E reach to shout because you people are overdoing it. If you fill ur form and state there that all the child has is a UK birth certificate the form goes through for all children born inside this UNITED KINGDOM.

That is what you wanted to do. That is not what the UK visas and immigration office require.
U filled that the child had a passport when you were filling the form. Nobody would deny the child BORN INSIDE THE UNITED KINGDOM a visa with only a birth certificate and ask them to go and get a passport. THIS IS NOT TRUE.
U guys can not equate ignorance to the law.

Good day house.
I need your counsel please. I am trying to buy a few items to set up my work from home office.

Which is better between a gaming chair and an office chair?
*I tend to recline a lot and have a stiff neck and occasional back pains.
Gaming chair is better because most are ergonomic.
