An unassuming friend just collected 4.6m from UBA as interim dividend. He started investing only 3 years ago, during the COVID lockdowns. He came in with big money though.

always beautiful to see dividend growth. It totally makes the early sacrifice of heavy lifting worth it .Double whopper when the primary source of income is something that still brings in cashflow, you can decide to reduce workload / take pay cut for other pet project. E go dey go ohh e just dey go (in Femi kuti's voice) grin grin grin

Money earned without hustling and going to the office or market is sweet, when we consider the fact that the money will continue to be paid for years if the business is fundamentally sound.

It is not a competition, it might motivate newbies on the need to be focused with their investments.

After all you also tell us the 300% gain you made from some stocks
I agree with you. There's nothing wrong in showing his dividend. It motivates others.

I have been following this thread but wasn't motivated to start investing till I saw someone's portfolio of 150m. It blew my mind. Now and I am investing small small.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by agbanimu11: 8:45am On Oct 07, 2023
Please kindly enlighten me on this issue of E dividend form. If I fill thru African prudential for UBA dividend, can i use the same African prudential e dividend form for other stocks like DANGSUGAR Buafoods and accesscorp etc, or each stocks have their e dividend form individually. Thanks

Mine also arrived this night but already sold all my UBA last week. Will do a quick transfer Monday morning to buy more Oando.
Then will follow that fresh newbie into the stock he mentioned by week ending.
And I still think I will be in time for twice as much UBA! And I will not wait for N30 will come down way before.

Why sell at this point of UBA TURNAROUND

Do you know their Q2 2003 EPS around #10.50. infact if UBA is to be liquidated today each of their shareholders will be paid around #100 per share

That is exactly the aim and final solution the regulators have profer to this issue of dividend payment. Investors are not suppose to fill any form once they gave their complete details to their respective stockbrokers during account opening process. It's unfortunate that many of the registrars have not keyed into this laudable innovation for more than two years now.

Well let's hope for the best that in no distant time other registrars will follow suit.

That Covid-19 moment appeared to many as an unfortunate moment but in actual fact it was the coming of a very rare of its kind opportunity to create a life time financial freedom as most of the best dividend paying stocks in terms of dividend yield fell so badly and were begging for buyers at the most ridiculous prices ever. Your friend's case of moving large sums of money into the stock market during the Covid-19 scourge was a case of a very golden opportunity meeting a very solid preparation. I recall buying some UCAP at N1.8 during Covid-19 times.

Very much. But, going by the TA charts, I see some sideways movement for now.

If you fill through AFRIPRUD, it will only work for all your stocks which have AFRIPRUD as their registrars. It will not work for your stocks under any other registrar. For those other stocks you have to find out their registrars and fill the forms too whether online or physically at their offices during working hours.

Dividend yield of Zenith Bank was about 30% during COVID-19 period.

N10 million invested in Zenith Bank shares during the loak down would have given a total dividend of about N10 million from June 2020 till date and the Investment is now valued more than N30 million

No wonder I recently got alert for Access Bank dividend payment without being able to recall when I ever filled the e-mandate form of the bank's registrar.

Yes, I recall how Zenith in particular was on a free fall and hit about N8 during the lockdown and then stayed at N9+ plus for long begging for buyers.

in my own case, i have my form filled with Afriprud for my UBA dividend years go. Although i never owned UBA shares until recently. I used to get my UCAP dividend through same registrar to my access bank account being the account i filled.

Now last night i got UBA dividend paid to stanbic bank account and i was wondering why this should happen.

actually with morgan capital as my broker, i have stanbic bank as my account detail. Could this be the reason?

Getting dividend is not dependent on the bank you use. Some people use same Access and have gotten while some using other banks have also not gotten.
Just wait you will get except if there is any irregularities in your details with the registrar which can easily be rectified.

Make sure to reinvest those dividends back into your portfolios oh, don’t spend it all on enjoyment.

Yes. The details are to be gotten from cscs following your details during account opening with the broker. That is why it's that same account the proceeds of your sales will be paid into by cscs except you opt out of direct settlement of sales of proceeds.
