I may or may not regret this but I have promised to get to a particular office(promotion) in my organization before I get married.
I also want to have a sustainable business and properties I can leave for my generations to come before I start having kids.

I must achieve at least one of the above mentioned

I don't think you get rejected when you get old, when you have money and investment, and women or people around you get to have the knowledge of that you will be young in their eyes.. yeah so no man is old, is just that when you are old and broke, you will always get rejected..

1. The biggest regret you'll have in life is not doing those things you wish to do.

Of course, doing them doesn't translate into success. But it will bother you on your deathbed. Had it been you tried and failed, you would have come up with better strategies or at least experience a new dimension.

2. Wasting time on frivolous adventure because it's the norm.

3. Pleasing people because you don't want to be written in their black book. This is due to a lack of self-esteem and confidence.

4. Trying to be in love or union with the wrong person because you fear being alone. Now older, they've grown to be your worst nightmare.

5. Not following your instincts. However, on this note, gut feelings don't always lead to the right place. In situations where logic trumps guts, follow the way of logic.

6. Not taking necessary risks because you were afraid of the outcome.

7. Always afraid to challenge those who intimidated you. You thought they would harm you if you stood up to them. Meanwhile, they are scared of those who rebuff their bullying and intimidation.

8. Tethering yourself to a slave-like job. The longer you stay in such a job, the faster your freedom and independence erode.

9. Being afraid to make a solid decision that you've weighed to be profitable long-term. But you were scared that nobody would support you, so, threw the decision away and allowed yourself to be led by dumb people.

10. Incompassionate when you need to be compassionate. Lenient when you needed to be strict.
Doing the opposite when you ought to have done the real thing.

If you have a change of heart and follow the long road of freedom, you'll have little to no regrets even though you didn't end up where you wanted to be.

The long and short is stop giving people these silly advice abeg! If a person wants to have a child let it be because he wants it and not because someone else told him he should do it. LOok around at the millions of abandoned children on the streets, many of them with fathers and mothers still alive, while they remain uncared for. Ever wonder why? Because society pushes the idea of having kids on all even those who are not fit to be parents.

I get you, sir. I also understand what he meant. I do believe I still have age on my side, that's why I made that comment. If nature being so kind helps me achieve it before or when I get there.

I actually called my dad to ask him what is his biggest regret, since he is well into his 70s.

He said he regretted not buying properties all over Lagos in the early 70s when land was dirt cheap, even on the so-called island. In fact, Lagos island was all bushes and slums.

The people advised him to first build houses in the village, before building in the city, which he did, but the economic value of the city triumph the house in the village.

That's his single regret. That he didn't make huge financial decisions while he was young, because he was ignorant, and lacked the ability to predict the future by watching current trends.

Imagine me pansophist, come get like five houses all over Lagos, now tell me how poverty will ever be my portion.

So his regrets are that he allowed himself to be a victim of external influences, coupled with his own ignorance of the law of compounding.

Heya this kind of regret is really painful in life 😢 and hands of time can't be Reversed ..

I said this because I made similar mistake just 10years ago and am in my early 40s.
I pray I still have opportunity to regain all have mismanaged and lost due to negligence and inability to predict the future.
