Until the US calls her to their U19 camp, then it will be all over.

We’re on the verge of losing Defender Ayo Oke to the USA though she hasn’t played for them at the Senior level but already Capped at U15, U17, U20 and U23 for them and also captain them at several Occasion…

I hope Joy Okonye Cases isn’t the same… Nigeria need this Special talent.

Scouted from Nigeria to attend Brown Uni? Highly unlikely.
Brown is an Ivy League school and very rarely award sports scholarships - in fact, I have never heard of a sports scholarship from Brown, let alone for women's soccer.
So, its likely she grew up here and went to school (likely naturalized) so she will be eligible for an invite into the US national team.

Don't know her story but it appears she was scouted from Nigeria and it's unlikely she's a citizen.

Not Brown directly.

She was with Right to Dream academy Ghana at age 10 and played for Canterbury high School. She moved from Canterbury to Brown.

Still can't speak to when exactly she emigrated but looking for more info.

There's also another player "Chioma Okafor" who plays for UConn. She's however listed as Malawian. She grew up in Malawi and was recruited from there. Haven't see much to access her but it appears she's highly rated in Connecticut.

Chioma and Joy Okonye both played for the academy BlackRock FC

The plan was for him to do so in September when he comes to Nigeria for the Sao Tome game. After the postponement the NFF went radio silent according to Osasu. I'm guessing same applies now. He'll probably handle the game and contract terms will be discussed and hopefully signed when he comes to Nigeria for the return leg.

We should have a coach already.
All this is just funny to me

My sources say different, but I won't dispute with the head of the technical team of the NFF.

On the second issue, I was speaking in generic terms, don't conflate them. On Onome, I don't mince words I've been very clear.

U said I should show u something and now I have done that u want to talk another thing. Why can't u just keep it real and admit u were wrong There is no money involved ooo its just a debate. Give credit when due and move on.

Are you even hearing yourself. So they prevented him from having access to 2 players, the least of which was away from the t am for 5 months and you're saying what exactly. He ot course acknowledged that he advocated for them to both return to them team but the eventually return was still at the NFF's mercy and it wasn't until both apologized that they got back. The timeline of this was months. How is that not interference for God's sake. Why throw the word "dishonest" around when you're the one doing it.

The only time the coach decided to have his way was the world cup. From the conversation he was bidding his time and had to insist on the terms of his contract when they wouldn't see reason. It's the world cup and he was willing to burn bridges to have his way. How on earth is the entire scenario I just painted free of interference?

Let's stop being emotional and start using common sense. Those players were suspended by the federation. The NFF is not the first and will not be the last federation to suspend players. If those players were not suspended and the NFF said the coach shouldn't select them then u would have a case. But going by ur logic every team in the world interferes with their coach. U have clubs that will stop a coach from using a player just because he doesn't want to sign a new contract.

My first statement clearly indicated that this isn't just a Nigerian thing but largely a African thing. You don't get players blacked out of a team for closed door criticisms or standing up for colleagues except Africa for the the most part. It's why I opined that it may be difficult fighting an institution that has learnt to live by this ethos for many years, but a lot easier to hold these players who were very often advocate on their behalf to higher standards. Read my conversation with naptu it's all there.

Whether you see it or not, you are more or less giving subtle endorsement to the NFFs treatment of these players with your comments. Players can be suspended for many egregious reasons. Advocacy for team mates and criticism isn't one of them. The biggest critic of US soccer are their players. They call out their association where necessary and they don't get sent out of the team for it. We need to do better and demand better of ourselves. Of that's being "emotional and not using common sense", then I'm guilty.

How is me not "disputing with the head of the technical team" not conceding? I clearly said my source said different, but even if I still clearly believe my source, it will be folly to say Eguavon is wrong on public forum except someone gets on the record and says otherwise.

These suspensions didn't come as a result of the bosses flexing muscle. The examples you cited clearly shows the players were in violation of laid down laws. Please what was Desire's or Oluehi's offence? Where they accused of rape, or did they involved in anything criminal or even immoral?

Comments like this is why Nigeria has a long way to go. How do players get blacked out for simply demanding better of their association and we are here justifying the action the association took by comparing apples with oranges. Na wa o

Mehn u can get suspended anywhere in the world stop the CAP. U want to use emotional blackmail but it can never work. This conversation is not about the NFF being right or wrong for suspending players, this is about players being suspended and that making them ineligible.

You're obviously not responding to the points made cause you know you have no point on the merit. It's why you're choosing to deflect and ignore. No point going back and forth on this issue. We obviously won't see eye to eye and you're not known to concede even when wrong so really no point.

My stance is clear, I won't stop making my opinion known on any matter and Onome won't be an exception. We'll pick this up again when we hold diverse view on another subject. Om this matter however, Peace.

Joking with your mates on the pitch is not criminal but the FA banned the players for 3 games I don't know oluehi and oparanozie offense during that time but what I'm trying to say is FA do have power to discipline players it happens all over the world club and country

This is just shameless on ur part. We are not talking about what happened last week. U said show me where Eguavon said Waldrum picked the players. That is the only thing we are talking about. I showed that to u but instead of accepting the fact and moving on u want to dance around and move the goalpost.

I didn't even know of the example your cited so I had to check it out. The player in question is Dele Alli and the English FA didn't suspend him, FIFA did. While he argued that the gesture was towards his teammates, the initial perception was that he gestured towards the match official. Again, even if the FA did suspend him for this, it is apples and oranges with the Nigerian situation.

You're being dishonest here. The crux of this conversation started after the world cup.

Even though I wasn't particularly and advocate of Onome going to the world cup I wasn't against it either. Even though she'd been without a club and was scandalously attached to an NWFL club she doesn't play with, I could sincerely understood why she should be there, being the captain of the team and potentially being a good way to end a sterling career. I gave considerations because of these things.

After the world cup however, she no longer had those considerations from me. Like I said in my earlier comment, I wouldn't have called her out if the list was Randy's. If Randy drops a list with Onome in it, my beef will be with him. For the record I haven't commented on this subject since the last time a list that included her was released. Th closest to this was my expression of satisfaction on her name being left out while giving my remark on the release of the recent roster. To characterise that as causing unnecessary tension in the team is being and alarmist and frankly won't work. As free citizens we are and will continue to give our opinion on our teams as we deem fit.

Onome going to the world cup was probably the FA honouring her with a record appearance, and Randy would have probably understood.

I doubt randy would have continued calling her after the world cup. And I'm glad the FA were also thinking along that line.
