According to owngoalnigeria Peseiro is looking to call up Chuba Akpom as he thinks he will be better suited playing behind his preferred two man attack which most likely will be Boniface and Awoniyi/Moffi (with Osimhen confirmed out of the WCQs). What do you guys think?

Also Inter Milan are interested in Senior man Kelz

lovewins:
What the last 2 games has shown is that we don't have a team. We have a group of talented, selfish and mostly nonchalant players.

What I see is a group of players who aren't committed to one another, who aren't playing for one another. Where the right call would be to make a simple pass to a colleague, we see some of our folks resort to self glorification. A few instances in the last 2 games prove this.

Nonchalance sadly has eaten dip into the team. It's fast becoming a Super Eagles culture and new players are picking up that attitude. When Aribo joined the team, we thought we had found a gem. Today is a far cry from who we knew him as. Osayi wasn't so great last game, really hoping he hasn't been infected with same virus.

It takes nonchalance for a player like Simon Moses to not improve his finished product over the years. His crosses are still as atrocious as they used to be. No sign of improvement. How about chukwueze, the poster boy of nonchalance. They do this because they know they'll get away with it and get called the next game.

A lot of things have to change, I however think the culture in that team should be first. Those who perpetuate this culture should be kicked out.
Epistles of emotional diarrhea! Una sabi over-exaggerate and over-inflate sha! it's always doom and gloom for Nigeria fans like we're supposed to just walk over every team we face. Of course it was a friendly match and the whole purpose of playing friendlies is to identify glaring weaknesses in a team, tweak and improve what areas need to be improved upon. From these friendly games we already know our attack is loaded and set, we won't struggle to create an overload of chances; of course our woeful finishing remains a worry but Nigeria is always a tournament team and we will definitely fix that issue- but the main positive is that we no longer struggle to break down teams (even the low blocks) as our xGs over the last games have shown. Our midfield is finally taking shape, we move the ball better now, create lots of chances from midfield, and press more effectively than we've seen in years- with Ndidi, Iwobi, Onyeka, Onyedika and possibly any of Fisayo/Folorunsho(hopefully) we should dominate the midfield against any African team bar the top few teams like Senegal, Morocco etc

Defence surely needs some tweaking as we concede needless goals from set pieces, but Bassey is fast becoming a solid rock of Gibraltar for Nigeria, it remains to be seen which other CB pairs better with him- jury is still out on Torunarigha, I wish Igoh Ogbu could earn a call up. The likes of Ekong, Omeruo, and Ajayi are okay as veterans but it's clear they are on borrowed time.

Goal keeping is obviously our biggest headache right now, Uzoho is minus one, so we are left with insha Allah and hopes that the likes of Adeleye come good. GK options we should explore are Stanley Nwabili, Obasogie, Nwoke from Sporting Lagos, Arthur Okonkwo and hopefully Atubolu is they commit to Nigeria.

In all the only obvious team loopholes are sparingly in defence and very much in the GK department, attack is overloaded and midfield is shaping well fine with one or two additions left to be solid and competive.

Relax, this team is about 3-4 player additions left to be a AFCON contender, I'm not even worried about Nigeria going far in the tournament, it's that goal keeping area that scares me if we make it as far as the semi final and have to rely on goal keeping brilliance in extra time minutes and PK.

Don't tell me that fool that thinks himself of a coach left that execrable Uzoho throughout the match without trying out someone else.😮 Shocking!

See the mentality of a "coach" that's Leading Nigeria to contest for AFCON the ever incompetent NFF are folding their hands.

You are Nigerian let's not be naive , it's business as usual at the NFF and they are pulling all the strings.

Peseiro is the puppet and the NFF is the puppet Master

I watched several African qualifying matches.
My observation:
Ivory coast has a solid team.
Egypt (Solid team) outplayed Algeria and could have won despite playing almost an hour with 10 men.

These two teams in my opinion will be our biggest threat to winning the AFCON.

Super Eagles:
I watched us dominate and outplayed two very decent team this past weekend.
Limiting the two teams combine to just 3 shots on target from open play.
We could have scored 6 against Saudi and 7 against Mozambique if we really wanted it.
The way we responded after going behind should tell you that!

The Super Eagles is so formidable that even our bench could have totally obliterate Mozambique in the first half alone.

Our first 15 players will be a nightmare for any team on the African continent going by what I saw this past week.
If we solve the goalkeeping issues, I will put my bet on the Super Eagles to win AFCON.

This is one of the few times I witness a Super Eagles 2nd eleven outplayed decent opponents in friendlies.
November will be fun!
The Super Eagles is just a few players away from a world class team.

This SE team ain't winning the upcoming AFCON with the current frailties of the team.

JP needs to give the impression that he is actually building something...

I love this!!!!! I love it when people write off our teams grin. I remember Keshi's 2013 team and then I recall the last "tiki-taka" team of 2022 and all the hype and we crashing out (doesn't matter hownwe crashed out, we crashed out in the 2nd round QED). So this may be a good omen!!!!!

My opinion on Paserio:
I like Paserio because he is trying to play according to our football tradition.
Trying to utilize the system that brought us two AFCONS.
1994 we played 442 and 2013 we played a mix of 442 and 433 with Ideye acting as a winger/SS (a role created by Stephen Keshi to destroy the Ivorians and lead us to our 3rd and last AFCON).

Yesterday, he played Aribo in that Ideye role and he excelled. Fisayo was to play the Mba role while Onyeka -Mikel's and Onyedika- Onazi's.
Onyeka shows he could play the Mikel role better with his constant foray into the Fisayo zone.

The foray of Onyeka made Fisayo fizzled out cos Onyeka and Aribo were constantly moving into his position.
I suggested during the match that Paserio should remove Fisayo and play a winger, and to my utmost surprise that was exactly what Paserio did.
He removed Fisayo and brought on Lookman. Lookman moved to Simon 's position and Simon moved to the other wing in a 442.

This switch brought us so much pace on the counter which Sadiq Umar unfortunately keeps destroying with his bad first touch, positioning and movement. Imagine an Awoniyi/Osimhen getting the balls in Sadiq's position yesterday. Hmm!

Paserio may not be perfect but yesterday his tactical switch impressed me. His tactical switch yesterday shows he is getting to know the players better.
The only downside is him sticking with Uzoho. If Uzoho is a Northern muslim, I believe the outcry would have definitely being more than this!

National team is not club football where you get to see the players everyday. and can buy players that you want. We need to stop this ridiculous comparison btw both.
Patience, patience, my people!

Golf is a sport loved by millions around the world known for its unique blend of skill strategy and the picturesque landscapes of golf courses. However like any outdoor activity golf can be significantly affected by weather conditions, especially rain. In this article we will explore the relationship between golf courses and rain and answer the question: Do golf courses close for rain?

Will be pleasantly surprised if the team does win.
Keshi's team had a surprising balance and was underrated probably due to the high number of debutantes.

Keshi's team had poor friendly results going into the tourney. The first round was horrible if you recall. Keshi left out the best Nigerian player at that time, Osaze from the team. These good players who were arguably in good form were not included, Sone Aluko, Taye Taiwo, Kalu Uche, Haruna Lookman. He won at the end of the day anyway and that's what we remember.

You recall wrong then.

The team heading into Afcon 2021 in January 2022 also wasn't given a chance. No Osimhen. New coach. They were written off.

It was the win vs Egypt in the first game that gave fans false hopes and deceived many in here to think we were gonna go all the way.

Alas we met our doom vs Tunisia. We were figured out and knocked out.

A real Naija fan will tell the truth of our chances ahead of the upcoming Afcon while also keeping faith in the pool of the players we have if they are deployed right and the right role selections made. Both can Co exist.

Your club and league consistent outstanding top performances are the basis for national team selection.

Look at Bassey trajectory from Academy player to Rangers to Ajax to Fulham quality doesn't hide.

Now compare the downward trajectory of Omeruo is not on the same page and level as Bassey and never had been.

He expired a long time ago should not be in the SE .
Are you trying to say that Fulham is a bigger club than Rangers and Ajax? 😂

Keshi had Mikel and Moses. Mikel had just conquered Europe with Chelsea in 2012. I had belief in that team and in Keshi's tactical honesty and bravery to use the players right.

I wasn't on NL in 2013 but I was one of the few Nigerian fans and analysts who boldly predicted Nigeria to go all the way at Afcon 2013. Infact, for the game vs CIV, I was the only guy in med school who said we will win by a slim scoreline. No penalties. Everyone else was against me.

What I saw analytically in that team informed my decision alongside something else I cannot really explain. That instinctual knowing that you have about a team you are so emotionally and religiously attached to. I felt it. I knew.

Ahead of Afcon 2023, I don't feel such because of Peseiro. I guess that doesn't make me a real fan then🤣🤣 If saying the truth doesn't make one seen as a real fan, then we are promoting delusional nonsense in here in the name of support.

I will always support the Super Eagles. No one here can ever fault me on that but I won't lie about what this team lacks or has. That's true support.

Your belief must have a basis. Truthfully, Peseiro at the helm won't leave room for much surprises. It will be "we almost", "we nearly", "we should have", "we could", etc because the man just doesn't know the playing profiles of his players.

If this team will perform at the Afcon reaching even the Semis, then I trust it would be down to 2 things.

1. The will of the players to fight it through for Glory and make up for all the disappointments to Naija fans.

2. Peseiro becoming half born again tactically and picking right. All he has to do is pick the right players for the right roles in whatever formation he wants to deploy even if it is his favourite 442. That is half the work done.

Nobody will see the Nigerian vs Ivory Coast (2013) starting 11 and believe we would win. Our win was down to a very bad goal keeper and a little luck, although we played well. Note: I also believe we would win but that has nothing to do with our formation nor how we played in the group stage cos Ethiopia almost sent us packing if not for Vicmo two late penalties. We were simply awful at the group stage

In 2021, we played some of the best football at the group stage and the fans were right to be optimistic towards meeting Tunisia same way they were right to be pessimistic before the tournament. I remember feeling uncomfortable meeting Tunisia. It is a Nigerian thing, we like rising up to tough opposition when it matter most.

Our loss against Tunisia was simply down to overconfidence, bad goal keeping and Iwobi's red card. Simple!
Again, it is only bad goal keeping that can deny us this coming AFCON trophy!

Mali is destroying Saudi Arabia right now, leading 2-0 so far and it's going to get worse for Saudi cause they are getting torn apart. This is a Saudi team we struggled to convert our chances against. That's why I'm beginning to doubt the clinical abilities of players like Osimhen, he ALWAYS disappears in games.

How many shot did we concede on target from open play. Pray tell me? And who said the team is perfect? Please name one perfect team going to AFCON? Morroco? lol!
TheSuperNerd:
You literally said we didn't concede more than 3 shots on target combined from open play in the 2 friendlies. That is the stuff of lies and Delusions combined.

Bruv, you are the epitome of delusional. 😂😂😂

Why lying so much when it is clear this team has problems? Smh.
