Good morning,

My husband got admission to st Lawrence college for fall 2024 and my sister wants to co sponsor him. Does she have to transfer a lump sum(20M) into his account or she should pay it in bits?

Yes you can, but you are not left out in POF and assets should come from you

Hello gurus in the house

Pls I want to know if it's okay for my husband to include me and our daughter as his home ties while applying for study visa.

Already listed as hometies are his parents, grandmother, siblings, his business and staff, a piece of land with just receipt of payment no valuation done yet. We will apply to join him once his visa is approved.

The sponsor has 450k worth of asset. He provided it to demonstrate to the Visa Officer of his ability and capacity to sponsor the applicant

Relatives of the applicant can sponsor, but the onus is on the applicant to prove the relationship and the incentive. It seems the Vo believes the funds are for demonstration, and the applicant will not have access to it. Evidence of prior support, communication between the two, family photos, a family tree, and funds transfer from the sponsor’s account to the applicant are some ways to establish a genuine relationship and intention to sponsor. A convincing SoP to explain the relationship and demonstrate the cousin's commitment to the sponsor is key.

Greetings House ,

Gurus Please I need advice.

My friend got refused this morning and attached below is the message from the VO.

Here's some details.

My friend is being sponsored by his Canadian cousin who is a pharmacist, has 53kCAd in his account. He also attached property documents worth 450kcad and tax documents too.

My friend is studying a two-year(4semesters) PGD program, with a total 3 semester tuition costing around 22k( each semesteris 7k) 4th is CO-OP, no tuition, He has paid 7.7k CAD already.
.He also secured a 10kcad per session post-graduate scholarship award from his work place .

I'm a bit confused, is his relative based in canada not eligible to sponsor him?

Please how can someone who is 28 years demonstrate strong home Ties.

Hello, ur friend failed to prove that he/she will come back. His relative in Canada made it obvious. He should av done self sponsor while the money sits in his account here. It is highly important to prove that you will come back to ur country after ur studies.

It is best he adds u guys as home ties. Add your marriage cert & family pictures. He should apply alone. His children & wife is a best reason to convince he's coming back. It doesn't mean if u guys av plans to apply later.

It’s on the borderline, but it's possible, depending on your submission to IRCC.
In your SOP, provide a detailed financial analysis stating the cost of rent and living expenses for your intended city (links and snapshots from credible sources recommended) and ensure you have a couple of thousand left after analyzing the cost of your education. Showing you have researched and know your actual cost can tilt things in your favour.

In such a situation, a VO may look at other aspects of your application to decide. For instance, answers to questions like this could be a deciding factor. What are the job prospects after completing the program? Is it worth your life-saving? Do you have strong ties in Nigeria? landed properties? Was the funds from your savings, gift deed or sale of property? The VO can look at your application as a whole to make a decision. So, a well-written SoP is key.

Have you been granted visa?
Was it only the confirmation fee you made?
Are you self sponsored or being sponsored?

Give a little detail to get adequate help.

There your problem lies, your sponsor's asset can not cover for you. it only demonstrate is financial stability. Please work on your own profile before attempting to reapply.

From my estimated calculation 12M is insufficient. This is what you need to show that will cover your balance tuition fee and living expenses 14,253,840 NGN as POF, I will advise you to have more than that amount as miscellaneous is not among, adding miscellaneous will be up to 20M. You might want to work on that.
Note: This is only an estimated amount that cover your balance tuition fee, living expenses, and miscellaneous
