Anyone who knows anything about macro economics knows it would take 6 months to 2 years

But he won't have removed subsidy
He won't have floated the naira

We would have been buying fuel 300 now at least

Dollar at 800 max

Would still be better than today

So what says you?

But he said subsidy was organized crime and it would go IMMEDIATELY. Should we start researching and doing a dissection on d meaning of Immediately?

Secondly we were borrowing like N400b every month to fund subsidy, would he had continued d borrowing?

Also he said himself during his last interview on Arise tv that he would first of all devalued d naira to N600 or N700 then defend it at that position by ramping up exports. Now how long would it take him to ramp up exports to be substantial? What value added products do we currently export that are quick wins for him? After looking at d books of CBN and finding our reserves is actually in d region of $8b, is that what he would use to defend d naira?Talk is cheap, Obi has no idea what he is talking about. If he devalues d naira further and without d reserves to defend it, what's happening now will happen except that he will completely finish up our remaining reserves and Nigeria would go bankrupt and our creditors will come for us. Thank God he came a distant third

PO has no reality of Nigeria. How many years will it take the insecurity to come to an end knowing the ethnic connotation to it? In the years waiting for it ,what then will happen to food inflation, subsidy payment and FX, salaries,? No one size fits all. Nigeria is simplly unruly.

What is the basis for fuel subsidy in an economy that doesn't refine crude, is heavily indebted, and lacks in critical infrastructure to kickstart industrialization?

Have bothered to check the reason behind the conceptualization of fuel subsidies in Nigeria,?

What is the impact of the naira defense by the previous government on our economy?

Keep defending nonsense...

And this government is still paying for subsidies while the price of fuel will soon be #1,000 per liter

Claim I: Peter Obi promised to remove fuel subsidy on his first day in office as Nigeria’s president

Verification

The CDD War Room reviewed Peter Obi’s campaign statements for the 2023 presidential election and found that he made repeated declarations regarding his plan to remove the fuel subsidy.

In July 2022, Obi said in an interview with Arise News that he would remove fuel subsidy and look for something to replace it as it was not beneficial to Nigeria’s economy.

Also, during a presidential town hall organized by Channels Television on January 8, Obi promised to remove fuel subsidy immediately, if elected president. Describing subsidy as an organized crime, Obi said he would not allow it to stay a day longer when he gets elected into office. This was reported by Premium Times and Channels TV as can be seen here and here.

Obi posted about the event on his verified Twitter handle where he reiterated that he would immediately remove the fuel subsidy when elected.

Verdict: True

One thing that made me not to jump onto the Obidient movement is Obi's dishonesty.

The man reminds me of Stalin of Russia and the propaganda minister of Adolf Hitler.

They would say one thing, deny it, and let their followers take over defending them like zombies.

Obi clearly stated that he would remove subsidy immediately he was sworn in as president. In fact, he emphasized that subsidy would not STAY A DAY LONGER.

Yet, his followers keep foolishly claiming that Obi would have handled the matter better than Tinubu.

I am a Tinubu supporter, but yet I have made my grievances known about his poor handling of the economy, especially with the ill conceived subsidy removal declaration without plans.

There is hardly one Nigerian politician that I trust. But Obi is the one we need to be the most careful about. In June, he granted an interview saying he would have put some things in place before removing subsidy. But in January, he had said he would remove subsidy immediately.

Tinubu may be doing badly right now. But Obi would have done worse.

Well, let me educate Nigerians a bit, flashback, 2010, I was displaced from where I reside in the north, I was hopeless and helpless. Anambara's Peter obi sent in buses to evacuate displaced people from anywhere in Nigeria to anambara state, we were given transport money to our various states, after arriving awka, but I decided to stay in awka, there, I met some friends who took me to onitsha, holed up in a place called ogbaru.
A week later a guy agreed to supply me with locally made cooling trunk freezers, coincidentally obi was drawing gas powered electric trunklines across Niger River, and stepping down 33kva lines at harbour industrial estate and spreading it across okpoko, ogbaru, awada, obosi ochuche, ogbakuma, osamalu etc.. two months later I was in business with an uninterrupted light that only goes off every Tuesday, 7am and returns by 10am same day, it took five months to pay off my debt, a year later, I was controlling #800000, with four more freezer trunks boosting my income, that's a little part how a visionary leadership help startups and improve life of citizens.

First off its still too early to conclude on BATs economic policy , I am a strong believer that each candidate will have a style that suits them , the end result is what matters , luckily BAT and Obi were once governors, you can go verify and check l their track records.
Back to the main gist of these post , obi claims he will reduce inflation by fighting insecurity and I asked how long will his fight last ? If he is preemptively saying inflation can only come down when the farmers start farming then I'm sorry no difference between obi and BAT just different styles of same thing.

Now here is what I would have done differently, I noticed all nigerian leaders are fixated on the north being the agric hub of the country and I state here that's a very lazy mode 0f thinking , Nigerian leaders find it difficult to think outside the box , I see no reason why a thinking leader can't embrace technology to create agric hubs around strategic locations such as benue, ogun , ebonyi, nasarawa and even fct .

These hubs will be powered by technology over vast hectares of land and even herdsmen will be included in the hub , each location can focus on specific crops that suit their soil and with the aid of technology produce faster and all year round. Let me stop here as I can write a whole proposal on this topic with evidence from other countries doing it ( even ghana is using part of this methodology right now ) .

By the way, how do you end insecurity by treating insurgents with kids gloves.

Didn't you see a video of Terrorists holding Meeting with the army and Army still denied the event?

Does that show an Administration ready to work?

Answer the question

Army officials that give intel to insurgents on the whereabouts of their comrades, but "insecurity is hard to solve."

An investigative journalist without high-end resources and access to classified information was able to do the majority of work in nabbing a kidnapper-killer, but "insecurity is not easy to solve."

'Nigeria is a complex state with ethno-religious issues,' yet they keep appointing officials from one tribe across all top significant positions, and expect the masses not to have a deep mistrust of them.

The immediate political circle of Obi literally consists of him (Igbo), Datti (Hausa), Abure (Edo) and Osuntokun (Yoruba), and you think someone like that will install only Igbos or his cronies in place of security matters and national importance.

Well it's better to make plans and the people to suffer for a while to achieve that than the man with no plans at all and still made everything worst.
If you know that there's plan to the madness, then you can brace yourself, Tinubu is just testing different policies without plan.
There's a proverb that said "you shouldn't test the depth of a river using both feet" but Tinubu is using both feet and hands.
