This one think say she dey Nigeria where she will be lazing and walking about with friends doing nothing reasonable. You went to Canada to make friends, we that has been in Abroad for years knows that here is a hustling ground not for fun, you need to work, pay bills and take some home, as I can hear from her she doesn't want to do anything, she wants to loit about shaking Nyash, Doing Hook-up like they do in Nigeria. If you're busy with work and studies when will u have time for friends and party. Better go back home Madam

Females crave attention a lot more than guys,.reason they tend to feel miserable when left alone with noone to talk to..
She.felt cool with the lifestyle at first, but.her feminine nature took a toll on her, hence the outburst.

Addressing your first paragraph, not really so I can speak for myself and my circle when we're asking a girl out it's for the purpose of marriage, pure and straight.
■ Don't get me wrong sex is important, we Will talk about it and discuss each other's fantasy but it's never the driving force, there are more important things than sex, the lady's values system, attitude, mindset and fidelity.
■ On the hookup thing it's rather unfortunate.
■ I don't really understand your second paragraph
.
1. No Nigerian we be? For Nigeria did you marry every gal you dated for marriage? Let's stop bullsheeting abeg! grin

2. Abegi! undecided

3. Whatever you wish to call it. It has almost always been a part of Nigerian culture and remains so to date so pretending their are cultures differences as far as the handling of individual sexual needs is ludicrous! undecided

4. Nigerians too carry meaningless culture for head. undecided

I don't think you are accurate here. When you migrate to the west as an adult African immigrant, it is very difficult to break into white people's social network. These people develop their social network right from childhood, and it is the friends they acquire from childhood that they carry on with till old age. ■ Secondly, many times when you are in their midst as an adult African migrant, you find it boring because their jokes, discussions apart from the ones centred on careers won't appeal to you because you didn't grow up there.
■ The summary of my rejoinder is that it is easier to mingle or break into the white man's social network when you migrate as a very young person. At most, early 20s.
1. Have you ever noticed how when the same "white" people move to Nigeria, even with the disadvantage of not being raised in Nigeria , they easily find ways to adapt and mingle than Nigerians do when they go abroad? Ever wondered why? undecided

2. Don't expect everyone's jokes to appeal to you. That is where learning about them and what interests they have come in. For example, I had problems mingling myself, and so several years ago I joined a city cycling club so I could do that, mingle. As i went out regularly on rides with club members and hung out with them even outside of the rides when I could, I started to gather the same interests they had, talk about many of the same things they did, and even find interesting many of the same things they were interested in. You can't socialize or mingle if you are not first willing to step outside of yourself. undecided

3. I disagree with you since humans are social beings so at whatever age you find yourself here, you will definitely find those to socialize with if you are willing to step outside of yourself to do so. undecided

I feel sorry for her. It's so bad especially when you're coming from a socially vibrant place like Nigeria.

The western culture is so isolated. Hello, Hi and that's all. Anyone you take as a friend is just for drinks/party o, if you assume any other type of attachment, you're on your own except it's your nuclear family.

What I don't understand is why people act like it is okay to live that way. Even Africans keeping to themselves like the whites only to get to their rooms and cry out of boredom. Because nothing can come close to true friendship, not Netflix not studies not work.

She should try to visit Naija every year. Spend at least two weeks greeting and gyrating with family and friends, chop suya and drink our cheap beer. Enter club and shake body, not all that Tecno electro music.

Why do people keeping this? The western culture is not socially isolated if you don't want it to be. There are places westerners can go to socialize. And there are clubs that cater to Nigerian music.

She is complaining of loneliness because she isn't fully integrated and doesn't understand the system yet

Clout chaser, come back if you can't cope. Canada and foreign countries are not for people like you and 80 % of Nigerians, cuz there is no chance there to show the low behaviors and mentality.

See your mouth, like say you even sabi road to airport and you qualify to give advice.

Winter is an attack on single people. Especially days that snow non stop and gets dark as early as 4pm. cry

So they are having a hard time integrating and the solution should be for them to hurdle up with others who are equallly struggling to integrate?? undecided

Nigerians no dey like to solve problems at all. So instead of suggesting she learn to step out of her Nigerianess, your suggestion is that she find other Nigerians struggling with loneliness to hide away with in their churches, etc? The same hoodoo that is Nigeria where racism seems the order of the day? undecided

It is only dark, cold and depressing if you want it to be for you. I recall that after I joined the cycling club, winter months became anything but dark, cold and depressing. I would ride out on my Bicycle even in the snow to go watch Christmas lights or shows downtown. I realized that I had in fact been the one torturing myself all the time I used to dread the winter months. undecided

They can’t all be JJC for Nja churches. Ask help from those you are comfortable with first. Ask what works for people. Not every Nigerian is comfortable stepping out a just talking with every dick and Harry. It could also be through them you might be introduced to one event or the other .

Not everyone enjoys winter. It’s one step at a time . It’s takes getting used to. A way a man would integrate is different from a single lady. Winter can be depressing when the sunsets at 4pm and it’s dark like nobodies business. Let her start by building her circle of friends and then she can do outdoor activities.

Again, I didn't "enjoy" winter for the longest time. It was only after I decided to step outside of myself, learn how to properly dress warm during the winter, that I began to enjoy winter. undecided

2. This is rubbish reasoning since both men and women have to step outside of themselves, learn how to dress warm , etc., in order to mingle and enjoy winter the same. undecided

Dey there! The vast majority of those who frequent your Nigerian churches here are themselves battling the same problems of loneliness wey carry you go meet them. If that church moves location or closes down, many of them go back to living the same problem of being isolated. Why? Because they have a hard time stepping out of their Nigerian programming. undecided

Honestly....if u r not a loner...or Can stay alone for quiet some time or a long time....please avoid going to Canada...
Go to U.S, UK or Europe jejely.
Na when u reach abroad u go really understand what mental health means...
Yes as Nigerians we go thru shit everyday no mean say u really are tough n can survive out there in every aspect..
Yes u will survive as par say u get hardwork mentality..
Socialization nko?
Canada is a secluded country in terms of land n population...
U may not see ur neighbours eye to eye in 4 to 5 days

The reason you have a hard time finding relationships here has a lot to do with the racist undertone to your upbringing. If not, there is no reason why you would not be able to find yourself a mate anywhere you go on this planet. undecided
