I quess you are also a Pastorpreneur yourself because what this Pastorpreneur don't understand is that Giving in the house of God in this era of new testament VOLUNTARY and not mandatory I. e. A Willing Giver is free to give however how much decides to give whether big or small, he's not condemned. You just ignore the Pastor

See hypocrisy.

2Cor.9.6 - But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Mark.12.41 - And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
Mark.12.42 - And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
Mark.12.43 - And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
Mark.12.44 - For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

How did Jesus know to the widow cast her last? How did He know the rich that cast little? They were people in His congregation. He knew them. Do you think Jesus praised the the two of them? Don't you think Jesus, though, not going home with the money expected better giving?
Do you know better than Jesus?
The pastor knows his congregation better. They should do the needful.

Religion is business, he should be making progress and not going backwards, the youth gave 250k 2 years ago, why 50k this year?, every businessman will reject that, your pastor made the right choice, he's a business man, you are the docile sheep, that's less than 50 dollars, get the yahoo boys in your church to contribute

Religion is a scam

Do you know any church that is not a one man church?
Really funny question. You must be very young. These days, people know much, yet too little of the past. How much of history do you know? How much do you know about 'church' and about the Bible? Not what you read in the Bible, but how what you read came about? I'm not asking for your response, but if you really know, you wouldn't be asking such an absurd question, you'd rather be asking so many questions that could eventually shake your thought process about what you call 'Christianity' today.

This is the greedy pastor op is talking about. The pastor is here on nairaland.
He said his pastor. His pastor, if he is tired of the church, he should leave church. If he is not gaining anything there, he is ungrateful.
When you people comment , you should read the Bible in context. In the New Testament is there any place, people were encouraged or charged or expressed displeasure about giving? Jesus, our Master did. Paul also.

Your pastor knows your worth. He should expect more from you. Some of you asked for prayers to get jobs you are doing now.

As you are expanding, his ministry has to expand also. Who knows whether the church is in a rental hall now. You want him to stay there for ever?

Youths of the church, stand up to do the needful and stop posting nonsense for here.
You get it?

You shouldn't have brought this issue to the public. What is your motive. If you were disturbed, you should have met mature christians for counseling.

Something happened in my church yesterday and its so strange to me.

Yesterday was the youth anniversary so the youth president has been soliciting for funds and yes people complied and myself also. it was time for thanksgiving and all youth danced to the altar then the pastor openly reject the money contributed by the youth to the amount of 50k in the sense that its too small and also making reference to 2years ago when the youth as at that time bought the church drum set to the amount of 250k. he rejected the money and prayed for us.

This is has been disturbing my mind since yesterday and i am just wondering how a pastor will openly reject amount contributed by people.

note this is not mandatory donations and a man of God reject 50k in this economy of Tinubu? i am just having a mix feelings and its disturbing. what your view on this

Which of these churches didn't start as a one - man church? Someone's vision developed over years. Who knows what any of the small churches in an open field can become tomorrow: RCCG, Deeper Life, Winners, JWs, AG, Foursquare....
Let me tell you the difference. It is a one man church not because a individual started it, but because he started and registered it in his name, he is either the founder, GO or president and only his family members can takeover if he dies or retires. His position is not determined by another unlike in these others where the leaders can be voted out by majority of members.

I try to refrain from saying anything negative about an ordained POG ( man /woman of God) .

You are right to feel somewhat . There are two ways to look at this

1. No matter the economy and situation Christians SHOULD strive in any economy. The bible is filled with examples of men of faith excelling contrary to what the signs say. Was everyone heart in the giving ? Could someone have done more but yet held back ? The rejection could have been a direct message to those that refused to give for whatsoever reason.

2. If you recall there was an offering taken in the temple and Jesus was looking at how people where donating - the moral of the story to me is that you genuinely give from what you have. Someone who gave N100 from N1000 gave more than someone who gave N10,000 from N1m.

I would discuss with an elder or two your feelings regarding the whole thing. Talk it out and talk it through . It could also be a learning opportunity for the man of God. No one is above mistake.

Whichever, that is someone's vision personal or global.

So what teaching do you listen to...to stay afresh... do you spend time with God's word?

I focus more on my Bible as I no longer find messages from pastors interesting. TD Jakes is okay but you have to be smart enough to take only what matters. I read the books of the old testament (Psalms, proverbs, wisdom Isaiah, Jeremiah and the rest like everyday. I ask for guidance in prayer. I also learn from "in the light of truth" teachings. I once listened to an Islamic cleric's teaching about humility and that changed my life. I think I pray like the Muslims even though I am a born catholic. Remember this, there is always something to take in every message. Just be smart enough to know the truth and don't let anyone enslave you

Is quite unfortunate that you brought family matter outside, can't you discuss it internally with your fellow youths without coming online?

You see you rushed here without waiting to hear or see what will be discussed afterwards at least when the youth leaders would have met with necessary leaders in the church for clarification and advice.
Come when you have informed statement.

Everything is now based on MONEY, coming to church without money especially a one man Church means you are useless, any little issues in church na congregation go bear am.
