Yes, it matters especially when the balance is low compared to the closing balance. This is if the start of the statement is within the period you are printing.

Well , even people with large opening balances have been denied despite having good account statements for one year. The key factor is how well the person can justify the funds in their account. Even if they have a good opening balance and a substantial amount in their account for closing, if they can't explain the funds, it's likely considered insufficient. This applies to everyone. Also, have you ever come across a case where someone was denied due to a low opening balance? Probably note from GCMS NOTE stated

Canadian Student Visa Thread
Hello to the gurus in the house.

Questions
i got this mail after applying for student visa . i would like to get an advice on what to do next

Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit
application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet
the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and
Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can
demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be
accompanied by a new processing fee

Is there a GIC option for people doing regular stream, not Nigerian student express? Which bank, please.
I called Scotiabank, but they said they don't do for Nigerians.

Please, I need your assistance on colleges in Alberta with no ielts exam that offers post Graduate diploma Certificate in business management related course with PGWP and a 2.2 GPA

Just go to google and serve all colleges in Alberta and search the schools one after the other you will definitely find what will suit you and your budget.

I live here, unfortunately people outside hate the truth. It is difficult now to transit from study to PR. This is not being discussed on this forum . 80 percent of the students aren’t even aware of how difficult it is. Once they get in, they felt relaxed after being carried away with the beauty of the country and the number of years ahead especially when the are doing 2 years program which offers extra 3 years of PGWP.

The heart attack starts when the PGWP is about to expire. Most students never get jobs in their field of study. Most students will have to go back to the EE pool after studies and wait for miracles. Writing ielts, combining work experience and calculating points. The hope of students has also been put to rest since the Canadian government halts the CEC canada experience class draw .

This is because the population of these students is so huge. Only 25 percent ended up getting PR after study. Some are studying in the wrong province. It is also competitive and difficult to get PNP . I advice students to plan very well and don’t get overwhelmed with what they see . This place is expensive and it won’t worth it to come in vain and go in vain

I have watched and followed you closely on this space for long. What you do here is to discourage people from travelling to Canada by saying the negative side of Canada to people. All these while you've been writing rubbish and chunning our rhetorics and narratives to put fear on intending 'japarians' yet you are still in Canada. What is wrong with you? Stop discouraging People. Don't advice us. When we get to the river we will cross it. Nigeria is already a failed entity. Rest Mr Man.

Norquest have many course you can choose from

But above all you peculiar situation is what matters most.

Hi, I want to sponsor (handle all tuition & expenses) my sibling to study masters here. I'm a Canadian citizen and do you think being a citizen will jeopardise my sibling chances of getting a visa on the ground of family ties?

To a large extent, it will affect your sibling.
Payment of tuition and Gic certificate to the rescue. Just remove your self from his application.
If you send the money to him how will he prove the earnings?

I provided a sponsor letter and it was also written in my sop why the organization is sponsoring me . As for the large sum that was moved from my account. The money was used to buy dollar from black market and I did not remember to add narration to the transaction. I am the first beneficiary of sponsorship as well
As for the guy that asked about how long it’s look me to get my gcms note, it took about one month and a week, sorry guys I don’t really know how to use this platform efficiently.
I will really appreciate if you guys can support me in my third application. Thank you all.

it seems they noticed that the 10m for living expenses was later transfered from your account
the 10m was my tuition fee, I sent the money to the black market guy. I forgot to add narrative to the transaction. At the time of my application I had the sum total of 10.6m for my living expenses

Sorry for the refusal
1. The funds that was transferred to you by the union was sent out of your account, why did you send it out?
2. You did not provide any document that shows why the union is sponsoring you, I also suspect you did not explain the relationship between you and the union(you need documents to back this up)
3. There was no financial commitment on your part, it is like the only funds you showed were the one sent by the union which you even dissipated.
1) the union sent me 10m for my tuition so I transfers 8.4m to the black market to buy dollar for my tuition during this transaction I did not remember to add narration to this transaction
2)I provided a letter of sponsorship/ letter of introduction from my sponsor stating that they will be responsible for my study in Canada, it was also stated in my sop, the reason why they’re sponsoring me
3) before my application my sponsor sent me extra 5m that the Total of 6.6m from my sponsor and my dad also sent additional 4m, at the time of my application I had the total of 10.6m for my living expenses. All these were explained in my SOP, I will
Need your help with my third application

[b]Good afternoon gurus 8n the house, I submitted my application 6 of Oct, did my biometric 11 of Oct, got acknowledgement of biometric with tracking number 14 of Oct. No message yet from IRCC. My friend got his Visa in 10days.
What should I do

Is the organization notable for offering scholarships? Did you discuss how you merited the scholarship, why the organization is granting you a scholarship, your relationship to them, previous scholarships awarded by the organization and most importantly, the organization’s profile? Your submission was weak if you did not address most of these questions.
To answer your question, you can change sponsor and provide an explanation
I did explained the reason for the sponsorship in my sop and I had sponsorship letter to back it up

It will not affect it if you package the application well. I am a Canadian citizen too, I have sponsored 2 of my siblings and the 3rd sibling’s application was submitted Oct 5. I did the applications all by myself too.

What I did is, if the person is a minor, I use my Canadian SOA and if not, I pay first year tuition and deposit living expenses into their account.

Hope this helps.

I'm going to reapply again soon. Can I please have an idea on if there's noeed to be worried that 3m left the account or will they not check. If they would, I would appreciate suggestions on explanations too. Please.

A good opening balance helps in visa application, although application can also be refused based on reasons concerned to the VO...

On my visa application as sponsor for study permit and SOWP which was approved, I provided 5 pages of 6 months Bank statements but @ the opening balance on bank statements i already had the funds available for Tuition and maintenance while funds keeps increasing from the opening balance to closing balance while avoiding lump sum.. they will also check credit vs debit transactions...bank account statements should also have atleast some verifiable source of funds ..I didn't do any source of funds explanation than to only provide business documents...
