It will not affect it if you package the application well. I am a Canadian citizen too, I have sponsored 2 of my siblings and the 3rd sibling’s application was submitted Oct 5. I did the applications all by myself too.

What I did is, if the person is a minor, I use my Canadian SOA and if not, I pay first year tuition and deposit living expenses into their account.

Hope this helps.

Any of them married before you sponsor successfully ?

Well , even people with large opening balances have been denied despite having good account statements for one year. The key factor is how well the person can justify the funds in their account. Even if they have a good opening balance and a substantial amount in their account for closing, if they can't explain the funds, it's likely considered insufficient. This applies to everyone. Also, have you ever come across a case where someone was denied due to a low opening balance? Probably note from GCMS NOTE stated

If my company is assisting me with educational allowance, what documents can I submit to support my claim? Thank you.

NBCC is no longer accepting applications from Nigeria until 2025. As for Cambrian College, you cannot apply for admission directly, you need to use an agent for that, and you can find the list of agents from their website.

Why don’t NBCC no longer accepting applications from Nigeria. Looking at Jan 2025. Pls tell me the reason

Hi Ozone. Just wanted to chip this in. I think we underestimate the power of sending web forms. In my case, after waiting 4 weeks, I sent a webform, my medical was updated to passed. A week later, I was impatient and sent another webform. Eligibility started the next day and PPR the next. I belive IRCC are dealing with volumes and sometimes applications get forgotten in the matrix. Although yours is still early days. Wish you all the best!
there is no any power in webform anywhere, they didn’t not reply you because of any webform, it was just your time, my application is over 11weeks now August 10th, I can’t imagine how many webforms I have sent, even called MP nothing changed no one single reply from IRCC let us all just chill and drink cold drink.

But some people are getting their visa within 21 days
How come some are taking months to and some taking 3 weeks or less?

Greetings house. Please I applied for a 10 year passport as the one I currently have that carries the counterfoil will expire in a year and some months.

This (for verification/approval purpose) requires me to drop my current passport with the immigration officer helping with the new passport. I just want to confirm having a 3rd party with the counterfoil is nothing to worry about (as per this is Lagos o lol) since I am yet to travel and intend to do so by december.

Thank you all for the never ending wealth of knowledge as always!

Dear Nbv1

I understand that you want to inform people about the struggles that is prevalent in CAD now and warn people to be aware of them/it. However, it will be better you always balance your intervention, tell us the bad and also the good, because as bad CAD is now, 9ja is unfortunately worse. There is simply no comparision between the two locations. The only way you "enjoy" 9ja now is if you are EXTREMELY WEALTHY" and/or connected to a top politician. How many people have these connections?

Besides, Thousands of people are still moving from India to Canada despite all the issues in Canada, the issues does not deter them at all, infact when they get to Canada, they start trying to bring ALL their relatives/friends over. They full Japa industries in India, where you have Banks (who give them educational loans), consultants, diplomats involved in getting people to travel out to Canada and other countries like Aus, NZ, UK and US. That is what we expect you and our other brothers and sisters already there to be doing, giving advices on how new people can navigate, creating communities' to help others to come over, etc.

The situation in 9ja now is dicey, things are not rosy, and for most people they will rather face the struggle in a society where things will change for the better if you keep your head down and work hard/smart than struggle in 9ja where there is no hope of redemption.

Our communities in Canada should be encouraged to grow to be as powerful as the Indian community, why do you think the changes that were recently announced by Marc were made, cos the issues were affecting the Indian community, if that fake LOA issues had originated from Nigeria, what do you think IRCC and CBSA will do? They would have probably increased our SP rejectionrate to 99%.

See what Prof Christian did sometime late last year/early this year, he and others took the establishment to account and told them they were discriminating blacks like us from coming, that the rejection rates were too high for flimsy reasons.

So please what I want to beg you to do is show us the way since you are there already. Like telling us " Guys things no too balm for CAD now, abeg when una dey come hold money to cater for yourself before you see work". Something like this.

Finally, please know that the more Nigerians you have over there the more you gain respect and power because a bunch of broomsticks tied together is stronger than a single stick.

All the best.

An acquaintance did not drop her own. She only went there on the day of collection with the old passport carrying the visa, they cancelled the old passport and handed her the new 10 years passport. She travelled with both.

Succinctly put!!!! 5bottles of cold bear for you!!!
I don’t get what the guy’s issue is really. An advocate of discouraging Nigerians from relocating to Canada! That’s what all his posts are all about; I actually checked.

It would be nice if he used same energy to give tips on how to navigate Canada.

I get that it won’t be all rosy; we see it all over SM.

The part that he’s even still in d kind Canada yet discouraging people from coming. Supposing he left Canada and came back to Naija it would have been a different ball game. But he’s still there and yet all over this forum with his discouraging post. I wonder what his agenda is really.

Hello guys, I’m in a dilemma

In May this year, I applied for a visit visa through an agent. I got to find out through my BIL that he used an address in Abuja, while I stay in Ibadan, and provided him with my real address in Ibadan during the application.

I have asked him to give me the login details so I can access the application, or better still, give me details regarding my application, he didn’t. Up till now, he says there’s no update on my application yet.

In September, I got admission and used the UCI in my BIL to start my study permit application, and this time, I used my real address in Ibadan. I submitted yesterday.

I’m scared this might be tagged misrepresentation, considering the fact that both applications are pending. I asked him to withdraw the visitors visa application but he is not cooperating.

Withdrawal of application does not stop IRCC from checking if misrepresentation is used in the application..I wonder how address or address that can change at any moment be seen misrepresentation..

Thanks for your swift response. I was just bothered.

So do you mean that the different addresses used in both applications will not necessarily pose any type of risk? Looking at the fact that both applications are active

In my study permit application that has my real residential address, I included a property valuation report (in my husband’s name), and the report has my real address on it.

Please under what category do you fill upfront medical application for SOWP for spouse and Study visit for kids? There is no option for work permit, so someone is advising I choose family migrant/ sponsorship, that the category doesn't really matter? Please can you guys advise??

Hello People! Help is needed!

Please it is okay to use different POF for school application and visa application? E.g. One person statement of account is used for admission and another for study visa application
Which is better, self sponsored or brother/husband sponsorship for MBA as a matured student with over 20 years post-graduation?
Which is easier and better to pursue, Post graduate diploma or MBA?
How much is sufficient for PoF for school application and study visa application?
Does school waive recommendation letter from school where all the lecturers are no longer in the system?
How can one pay for application fee? Is it okay for a relative to make payment on one's behalf, if yes, how does one explain to the school.

Thanks for being helpful
