UBA and ACCESSCORP
Na so e dey be sometimes.....
Similar scenario played out in GT and ZENITH too........before GT later reclaimed its position....

Some of them are destined for leadership. We'll see what will happen in the case of UBA/ACCESS as well......
While elephant may continue to come from behind and overtake...... Na just my opinion o. smiley

In this market, one can never say never......

* Meanwhile, some of the Insurance stocks delivered very good results as well.

Look at AIICO also.

Yes, Aiico did well too.
Both Aiico and MB has bloated OS and it hinders their sharp rise.November bull will propel companies with good numbers and I believe this time around some insurance stocks will receive patronage from investors

Mutual Benefit seems to have the lowest PE ratio (2) in the insurance sector based on their current result. In comparison, It is better than AIICO on outstanding shares (OS) because AIICO has about 36 billion OS, while MB has just 20bn units

I am yet to study insurance stocks.
I only know about stocks like Transcorp, Japaul, chams, caverton and the likes.

This time around, the numbers I have seen in some insurance stocks will drive me to the sector at least for 20-50% profits.

Are you saying FBNH understated FX gains. That more gains will be delivered in FBNH full year than currently reported in Q3. While UBA already reported the all z gains and by full year FBNH FX gains will exceed UBA gains.

If so that could explain the rally in FBNH, as some vested money bags mop up available offers since they know the value. This will make them also mop the rights in full.

To understand what’s happening you need to peruse UBA’S report. Check Note 5. Expect even more of such for FBN

You did this FX analysis even before now and FBNH has the highest FX gain if I still remembered very well.

Your July 24 post below:
aj8:

1. First Bank N53.7bill
Q2. UBA. N41.7bill
3. Access N30.1bill
4. Zenith Bank N24.95bill
5. FCMB. N12.5bill
6. GTCO. (-N4.bill)

All as at 1st January 2023.

Should influence income statement in H1and if the ratio of First Bank is anything to go by i.e N53.667 to N210.16 bill = x3.916 , the maths could be interesting. Let’s see how the maths plays out with Zenith Bank H1 first.

It is due to financial "ösmosis", movement of funds from higher concentration to a lower concentrate grin shocked
I share your thoughts. GTCO and Zenith are already saturated. The only unique thing about them now is that when there is a global phenomenon or national development which creates an intense and prolonged bearish run, these two stocks usually recover very rapidly far above all the others once the bearish trend ends hence they are good for strategic pick for quick and assured capital appreciation under such circumstances.

Yes Mer+y, but remember that the banks that have significant offshore presence i.e do banking also abroad, earn foreign income/interest and the conversion of such would boost the income profile. Moreover it would equally buoy the prospects of sustainability in these hard times. That’s my take.

That is diffusion.

Osmosis is the movement from lower concentration through a semi permeable membrane to areas of higher concentration

Osmosis is the movement of water specifically (and not just any substance) from a region of lower concentration of any other substance to a region of higher concentration of that same substance through a semipermeable membrane.

If they do,I think it will close above 75,000 by yr end.
