There is some sorts of direct proportionality between dividends yield and price appreciation in NSE. No matter how good the result is , if the dividends yield is poor, the stock is likely to suffer a setback except in some rare cases.

A lot of good companies are trading at ridiculously cheap price because of this factor. NSE is still one of the cheapest in the world cos most times we don't buy on values , rather on immediate gains. It's not a bad thing though, considering the kind of country Nigeria is.

Newbies please tread carefully , don't get carried away , put the above factor into consideration when planning your trade, especially now that fixed income rates are looking hawkish. The OGs already know how to manoeuvre. Always do your due diligence

Good result from Zenith. As at yesterday, the Q3 ranking of banks according to PE ratio is as shown below. Please note that FCMB audited Q3 result is still with their grand father (CBN) for authentication; I suspect interim dividend from FCMB though...
CMP - Current Market Price
OS - Outstanding Share
PAT - Profit After Tax
EPS - Earning Per Share
PE - Price Earning ratio

Good job.
Can you please extend this to include other parameters like equity, deposits, loan and advances, ROE and CAR.

Banks will continue to make more money in the short to medium term in Nigeria but the big question is will they match this with increase dividend payout.

Open Market Operation at 17.5%, boils down to where interest rates is going which is not good for the stock market.

The company's share price has been on standstill after the terrorism funding admission
Capitas7:
WAPCO seems to me, a great company with increasing revenue, FCF, cash. Finance costs put a dent in the EPS (when compared to Q3 2022), and we might expect to see its effects on proposed dividends for FY23. Unusual finance costs are sometimes brilliant strategic moves!

In my opinion, EPS is far from the best metric in the face of unrepentant inflation and currency devaluation. One needs companies that boast of increasing cash and an effective managament team (reflected by impressive growths) in the face of these harsh economic realities.

I have advice anyone with left over cash to go for a sector not yet fully release their Q2 report..

Honestly with what on ground and the pointer all along, banking sector appears very undervalued. Bank like UBA will soon cross 20 for our korokoro eyes while d like of fidelity cross 10..

Fingars crossed

grin grin grin

Ekuu UBA that cross 20 for our korokoro eyes o cool

journey still far (zenith_hand_shake) kiss
