Ekpekus:

Now you have followed the short cut of the 98% (according to your statistics-with no evidence) and you are at the verge currently.
I believe there are post on NL in the past that candidly advised on the need of getting at least the school fees settled as a student but then you would have brushed that aside with the saying " make we reach there first, we go rough am". Na the roughing we dey see so.
So, the take home from this situation is to candidly advise people to at least get their fees paid.
Anyway, I wish you all the best and hope you find a job soon that can alleviate the current predicament.
I don't know why you can't understand that, you and the guy are saying basically the same thing. He repeatedly said he is warning others not to make the same mistake he made, but rather prepared well, just like you are also saying. He is only encouraging people to go through standard procedures and not short cut like him, the same thing you are saying. So what's the issue here? That he ignored warnings and went about it abnormally doesn't mean he cannot warn others. Let those who are planning to follow his footsteps heed the warning. Of course some will hear, others won't as usual

You surprised me ooo.
How will you have 15m and still travel out to even u.k of all country.

I swear, with 15m,I must make over 1m every month here in nigeria and live Large the way I want.

15m. Gives me a 6k cartons loading capacity, which I sell each carton on a net profit margin of 100 naira the lowest and within 3days I must sell everything off.

I am sure to do atleast 3 times turn over within 3days.

There for 600k(profit)x3=1.8m.

Well ,
Wishing you all the best of luck in your endeavours

Not even nercerssarily, i think they are not really enrolling into the UK schools to study they are probarbly using study excuses to enter UK, even at the price of 50milion naira £50000, it is still so much money. A lot of people who were born in the UK lived in the UK for 50 or 60 years do not even have half of £50k let alone.

For £50000 i am prepared to relocate to a fine remote European or even african country and live a comfortable life. There are many countries of the world £25k can buy a mansion and still have £25k left to start a seaside cafe business. Anyone who spends such money to enter UK is a visionless morron.

People spend 50millon naira just to enter UK and do cleaning, security, care job or some dead end mannual job in the freezing cold while still paying expensive rents, taxes and VATs.

even at that i came with a dependent.. even dependant no work

Please op, you need to connect with people on ground. I mean our people you can meet on campus or church or other places you can see them locally.

They'll guide you better.

What you don't know is bigger than you.

So, relying on an official job site, as huge as indeed, etc is just not most effective fur the kind of job you can easily do in the UK at this point.

Someone already mentioned craiglist, and I think it seems more likely to be helpful, as you can see local jobs closer to you advertised in there.

Besides, people who advertise on craiglist are likelier to be smaller local places. But then they're the ones likelier to offer jobs to new commers without much questions and all that.

I have a friend who travelled just about 2 weeks ago.

But he has now started work this week I believe.

He's not schooling though. He's also not a skilled worker either.

I have another friend who's been there for 4 weeks but is still struggling to find something. That one is schooling too.

But he'll soon find, because he has a connection with some Nigerians already there, and they are all working to see that he gets something soonest.

So, I think it's about who you network or connect with.

Carefully join a network of good and supportive Nigerians/Africans around you, and they'll be capable of advising you better and showing you how to do it, considering their own mistakes and lessons.

This are just my honest thoughts.

my dream was that immediately I came over, i and my dependant will search for jobs.. work and pay bill. but that is not feasible as I am seeing it.

i started this process with 15 million naira then when naira nose dive i had to borrowed extra 15 million to top it with interest of almost 2 million naira. landed in uk, started seeing the reality on ground

i have been in UK since 1 month plus. but getting a job as a migrant or new commer without UK experience is not easy.
in fact i have sent over 200 job application for cleaner, care assistant etc but all came with a sorry we have moved on to the next stage or you don't have uk experience.

school fees has to be paid. everyone here in tight corner... school has sent mail threatening to report to the immigration if school fees is not paid in the next few weeks to most Nigerians here.

no job, house rent is expensive.. going for 450 to 600 pounds per month.

travelling through student route is not really easy because you have to balance between work and school.. 'even at that where is the job as a new migrant.

Please if you are considering coming to UK for now.. please put on hold. the crowd from Indians, Pakistani, Malaysia, china etc is overwhelming.

it's not worth selling your home to be here.

i sleep in indeed and all this job site.. still yet nothing, bills mounting up.

all my colleague i came with are still with no jobs in other cities

after spending 13 million coming here with extra 3k dollars now almost exhausted chai

if u know you don't have full school fees, house rent for 12 months, upkeep.... running to 35m to 40m please stay back... stay back or apply through skill route.

edited with more info.
Lock into the Financial System over there now by Opening PayPal, Skrill etc accounts. Go to sites like Binance and or paxful and or Bybit and or Bitvalve, Zelle, Wise etc. to look for people who wanna exchange $1.04 or .02 or even .1 to $1 PayPal Dollars or Skrill Dollars etc. Rinse and Repeat the process.

Leverage on the Banking system in that "first World" or "first class" nation you are RIGTH now.
There are many online Banks over there that you can leverage on to start making so much money in view of the Dollarization thing of the Global Economy.

The international imports and exports going on via air, land and water is a big opportunity for any common man like you and I to liberate one self from the grip of the Private Families whom you lost a whooping 15Million Naira to directly and indirectly to say the pure FACTUAL TRUTH.

Just simply do as I said earlier. Open and verify accounts with online Banks that operates on UK. Start exchanging Currencies via P2P on sites that are developed for such activities.

If you have Naira denomited card(s) enabled for international web Transactions, try using it on any of the local ATM machines over there to see if it will work. If it does, you can use such for Currency or Fiat Arbitrage too.

You cannot survive legally in the UK if you have employment restrictions as a condition of your visa. Otherwise if can legally work then get into business or ask somebody (African expat who has successfully found jobs) to assist you with job application process.

But OP, UK does not charge school fees unless you talking about your own school fees for higher education.

Otherwise if it is new law that expats pay for children's school fees then I recommend homeschooling which is better anyway imo.

Forget searching for jobs and hustle. Easy reasonably lucrative business to start is recycling. People throw out a lot of stuff you can collect clean up and resell online or in car boot sale or weekend markets.

You can sell the scrap metal to scrap metal dealers. If you have employment restrictions do not make the business official or put it in your name otherwise the authority may deem you to be working and possibly contravening your visa employment restrictions.

I left UK 9years ago voluntarily because I reasoned beyond their system . The only thing that's making me to pursue travelling now is to go raise Capital for my business in Nigeria i.e the 30m you people wasted to go clean yansh .

Even if you put 10m on Treasury bill for 180day in Nigeria you will get over a million naira as pocket money and use your 20m for some other businesses .

Major Naija problem . We have this bandwagon mentality that once it works for mr A then it must work for me MR B. Please this is not n insult . But people must try and be different , there are many many many wonderful countries where one will get papers within 2 / 3 years ,even passport and citizenship. And even with little cash . But it seems Nigerians are just in love with UK,Canada and USA .
Why will I use 15-20k pounds to UK when I can use 10k to relocate ,get papers ,invest and settle down fully elsewhere and even establish my own business. It isn't just about travelling but achievement.
People just need to up their research game

Tell us where you can use 10k to relocate, settle down and get business.

If not for stupidity, why spending 30million just to Japa to a country that you and your generation will forever be regarded as 4th class citizen?

Why not ask your president why they go for medical tourism in those countries where in your own submission, blacks are regarded as 4th class citizens.

after payment of fees you still need about 6m to apply for visa n health insurance and alo flight... even fact keep 35m.
