Two major reason, been atheist and I believe in meritocracy.

As an Atheist I can't marry a religion person, dating one self na problem in this country. I can't pretend, so the marriage won't work. How about the kids, the woman would want to force some ideology on them, won't want that.

On the issue of meritocracy, I know that no county is corrupt free and some work you need nepotism (what we call connection) and I don't see much wrong with that when it is not done excessively. Some of us don't believe in any grace, just give what we deserve base on our effort and capability.

Well I'm considering leaving due to high exchange rate of naira to dollar, and also to be in a sane society where I'll see less of the impunity and lawlessness which Nigeria is known for.

I want to be in an environment where I'll not have to bribe anybody before jobs or anything I'm entitled to as a citizen of the country.

Where I'll see less of power cuts and infrastructural decay

A country where I'll practice my profession in a regulated environment so that the impact of my practice will be felt

And many more...

My motivation then was a good life for myself, myself first. And thank God for that decision, as people around me can now enjoy the effect too. Back then, I was working like a slave in my own country without people appreciating it. No motivation, and you will see the work affecting your own life. As a skilled worker, government and the leaders want one person to do the job of four persons, and the people you even do it for don't appreciate it, because after all they feel you are being paid. A beg make una appreciate the few skilled workers that remained in that country.

My own reason is to make money. Every other thing I hear people say is for their children, safety, healthcare. Who tell una sey dem no dey die abroad or them no dey kill people. Nowhere on earth is safe ooo.
Please share your opinions

If your only reason is to make money - you better stay where you are .
Just realize that for every dollar you make 30 cents we will take at source.
Then you’ll pay bills ( rent, transportation, clothes , communication , food) and misc.
whatever is left maybe 20%
Then you need to save for retirement.
When you fall ill ?

Making money is not enough reason in my opinion.

I will not stay in a country where APC is battering the economy. Besides about 70 percent occupying government positions as at one time Jaapa, before they come back to misrule the economy.

yes oooo it makes me wonder what else is Tinubu forging today, using the seal of the President, of the federal republic of Nigeria - to commit fraud that will bring shame and disrespect to Nigeria in future ? 😣

just wondering - because leopards 🐆 never change their spots!

Not in my mind, i have never ever considered it in my life.
I can't go and be a slave in another man's country. Nigeria is a very big country. If u are serious with your life, there is no how, i repeat no how you won't make excess money in naija.
I rather be rich and wealthy in Naija than going to be below average class in another man's land.

Make i go dey stand like mumu for US /UK embassy make Oyibo dey asked me foolish question dey use me catch fun grin grin
Maybe you should tell this your tale by moon light to millions of unemployed graduates roaming the streets of Nigeria daily

Or you should tell that to those millions out of school almajiris roaming the streets begging for alms as a means of livelihoods

You can also tell that to most average Nigerians that cannot afford 3 square meal daily

You can extend your sermon to those millions Nigerians living in IDP camp without their loved ones

Lol

If you know the amount diasporans remit to naija useless economy you go close your mouth when people say money is the number one priority for considering to relocate. You can never compare poverty in Nigeria to ordinary SA not to talk of those developed countries
