True! many igbos are even claiming they are from Yorubaland now. All of them might get yoruabanized in the nearest Future because of their obsession with Yorubaland. This one here will eventually marry a Yoruba boy and her children will be yoruba
And by then yoruba's will start crying that Lagos has been taken over by Igbos right?

The biafran war almost annihilated a lot of Igbos with killings of over 3 millions of Igbos. The entire tribe could have been wiped out by Hausa/Fulani's if not for timely response of Victor Banjo that surrendered to a Yoruba man by the name BLACK SCORPION. Unfortunately Ojukwu killed him to massage his Ego. Just like the "Peter Obi" lost his election but doesn't want to accept defeat due to Ego.

Who is this fool? Did u read history in a shrine?

If read history books written during the colonial period, Urhobo, Isoko, Ishan, Afemai, Owan, Bini, and all other Edoid peoples were all classified as "Edo".

. You are making an assumption
And then extrapolating
The reality is that the colonial period was very different in technology from today

Coverage of the country was skeletal
There was no electricity
No phone no radio no roads when this census was conducted
So called "History books" are not authoritative

The very fact that peoples might have been wrongly classified undermines their reliability

That is what you want to believe
That is an idea that is sweet in your stomach so you want it to be true
The reality is that the Northerners in particular boycotted and resisted this 1921 census because they distrusted the motives
Another census was carried out in 1931 look for it
We are talking about an era when the main mode of transport was walking and the bicycle
People need to pause and imagine what technology existed in the world in 1921 not to talk of Nigeria

There was no radio station in the country at that time
Stop for a moment to imagine a census in A Nigeria where most people were illiterate, there were no roads,no cars,no electricity,no radio ,no TV
And people resisting it because not everyone accepted Colonial authority
Wetin concern north for this thread. Defend your own Yoruba tribe Mr man

The yoruba historian are a big joke. Banjo that died before the war ended. Banjo that entered Benin from Enugu by land while adekunle entered port Harcourt through Lagos by the sea

They were not wrongly classified. They are all Edoid groups till now. They are different tribes but under the greater Edo nation based on linguistic and Anthropological affinity. Some are asserting different identity but it's all political

And adekunle's journey in the war ended in aba , he almost ran mad out of frustration he wanted to take , aba owerri and umuahia at once before October 1 so that it will be celebrated on Nigerian independent day , he lost almost 6 thousand soldiers in that battle at once including commander SHADE a Tiv man who had about 20 thousand Tiv soldiers under him , the Tiv soldiers made up half of the 40 thousand troops that were under the 3th Marin battalion which adekunle was in charge , the Tiv soldiers protested and were unwilling to fight again , after that incident gowon called him back to Lagos replacing him with obasanjo

Even without boycott of the Censor and a new one in 1931, most of the people in the East, North and West then were classed as Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba.

Try that today, they will cry murder, sue you and tell you the history of your grandfather

You deserve no response. What's your addiction with Lagos? Yet is not only Lagos alone your people are migrating to in the SW.
I am glad Igbo people are coming to Yoruba's land cause is giving them exposure. An Igbo in the SW is thrice knowledgeable and smarter to the Igbos up East.

Being from Lagos doesn't mean being yoruba. Same mistake we are correcting you. A Yoruba man is busy building roads in Enugu state. But he is still yoruba by tribe but adopted Enugu as his state
Being from Lagos means being Yoruba. You can live in Lagos and still say you're from port Harcourt.
All Laagosians are Yoruba's just like all Anambra people are Igbo.

Nigeria Population: 1921 CENSUS.
1] Yoruba ---------- 2,113,000
2] Igbo ------------- 3,927,000
3] Edo ----------------- 472,000
4] Ibibio --------------- 960,000
5] Ijaw ----------------- 174,000

It’s still the same today
If ethnicity was included in the census today, you’ll see that Igbo is still the largest tribe in the south .

Yoruba people don't know this. They only make noise with civilian casualties. They should ask their elders for the scores on millitary casualties on both sides
