A good number of our political leaders are spendthrifts and selfish, that is the major reason for multi-dimensional poverty.

I always laugh when it comes to Delta state.

You see them supporting these politicians, yet the politicians no send them.

In terms of allocation, Delta has always been among the top 3 yet has nothing really to show for it.

With what that state receives, there's no reason why Delta should not be among the top performing states, but no.

Shameless Delta State, nothing whatsoever to show for collecting the highest allocation from the FAAC in the last 8 years, no talk of improving electricity, let alone industrialization?

And again, & again, they have gone and elected a semi illiterate as governor, 24 years of Pdp, nothing to show.

Akwa ibom State government believe that building stadiums, worship centers, hotels and 20 lanes roads will improve the standard of living in the State.
For years now we don't have visionary leaders in Akwa ibom State, and the worst part of it is that most ignorant Akwa ibomites believe that our governors are really trying.

Data concocted with sinister motives

Every nooks and crannies of the entire nation is facing multidimensional poverty induced by Nigerians but trying to attack certain sections pretending as if other sections are progressing and free from multidimensional poverty is laughable
Some times I just wonder how some people graduate from school ,these data does not preclude other states from poverty in fact poverty in other states could be higher than the states mentioned here ,but what the data is trying to show you is that despite that these states are oil producing and get df from the fed government poverty is prevalent there as well which shows probably the state governments are not using there allocation as they ought to or it's due to some other factors

Among all the listed states here, Delta remains the worse, nothing nothing nothing to show.
The old Warri of 70s remains the old Warri.
Effurun remains the same, Jarpka, Enerhen all remain the same

We understand that it is only statistics that shows that Igbos are doing better that is acceptable on social media so that we can all maintain our "Billionaires" status, but sometimes reality beckons.

From GDP to IGR to Standard of Living etc we all know the region that is doing better realistically but lets just pretend say na dem for peace to reign.

Let's appreciate this "Billionaire" bellow cool

The Disconnect Between Nigeria's Wealth And Poverty

All institutions break down at the margins. However, in Africa's case, this breakdown is searing at a frightening pace towards the mainstream, towards the structures of state.

Corruption, organizational incompetence and, shall we say, defeatism, have all conspired to relegate Africa to where it is- snail- pace development, not to say underdevelopment. How does one explain away hundreds of billions of USD of oil export receipts over decades?

This is just part of the story. Africa has not had its time. Africa, throughout history, has been serially and rotationally raped by Europe. So, in effect, Africa has not had the time, the tranquility to thrive.

The transatlantic slave trade over 400 yrs, where some 20 million Africans were stolen. They would develop the North American civilization, colonization and neo- colonization. These are what have weighed down Africa.

Africa's traditional institutions have virtually been destroyed. Francis Fukuyama wrote about The End of History, an insight into the collapse of the communist ideology.

Africa needs help. It needs help from outside in terms of debt forgiveness, technology transfer and favourable multilateral trade initiatives.

History will not be fulfilled until Africa has its time.

In Nigeria, people focus on the federal and forget about the bigger stealing going on at the state and local government levels.

Its a conspiracy of pitching the people against the federal govt, while the states get away with their excesses. It happened severally under Buhari. Even when he'd signed executive orders to protect the autonomy of the lgas, the governors revolted against such a move. The worst part is the governors as a whole are the most powerful political bloc in nigeria. They get away with whatever they want. This has been the case since 1999.

We're talking about multidimensional poverty in all facets of our country and some harebrained people are already playing the tribal cards. Who do us this thing self? angry angry

Imagine ooo, all the Oil producing states are the states that made up the list of multidimensional poverty in Nigeria, so what is the oil for....
When the people of those areas decided to pick up arms it will be a catastrophe because they have been deprived from the resources which are in their own backyard what a pity...
