You say they commit all manner of crimes. But they want to leave Nigeria and have a place of their own to finish themselves with crimes.

Yet you say NO, they won't leave.

How did the Igbos welcome the colonial masters and what was the reaction of the colonial masters to the sort of welcome they received from the Igbos? Did any of those reactions include incarceration? Let's begin from there.

We can also have a conversation about how convenient the British found it to imprison any Igbo person at the slightest hint of a conflict without hearing them out, but let's keep that for another day. The numbers don't lie, so do the facts.

PS: Adults are supposed to be capable of complete thoughts, but if all adults were, there'd be fewer cases of idiots growing old too.

APC Yoruba Moslems are funny.. but when the population of igbos in 1956 was shown here, they were arguing the figures, that it was incorrect, now they chose to believe the one of prisons... Lmao....I wonder what they serve you apc Yoruba Moslems
Re: Nigeria's Prison Demography In The Year 1958 - 1959 by kettykin: 8:29am On Nov 26, 2023
Igbo was more than half of the population of southern Nigeria.

They will not believe the population of igbos in the 50s and 60s, they will not believe that the eastern economy was the fastest growing economy in the world in the 60s buy they will believe the prison statistics of the 60s.

What a pathetic people

Re: Nigeria's Prison Demography In The Year 1958 - 1959 by OmoFiditi: 9:50am On Nov 26, 2023
The Igbos were republican and stubborn against colonialists, they were known to rebel against any man who tries to lord over them, unlike we feudal and monarchical yorubas who invited colonialists to invade our land.

Read the Aba women riot, read about the Ekumeku war (the longest war between the British and any African tribe), read about Igbo landing and read Achebe's Things fall apart.

Rebels are not usually liked by the white colonialists, so it is not unusual that they will make up the most of their prisoners.

Sorry to burst your bubble, my dear yoruba brother. Truth is bitter, but must be swallowed..
Re: Nigeria's Prison Demography In The Year 1958 - 1959 by yoruboid: 10:35am On Nov 26, 2023
Back then they dominated local prisons but now they represent 80% of Nigerians in prison outside these shores

Criminality is cultural for them and they are taught dishonesty from infancy
