For those of you who join Arise Peoples Party to make outlandish comparisons and talk down Nigeria, please note that Nigeria has a huge population and a tiny budget. The combined budget of the New York City Police Department, the New York City Fire Department, and the New York City Housing Authority is more than Nigeria's national infrastructure budget. I am referring to New York City. Not even New York State.

Nigeria is not an oil-rich country. We are an oil-poor nation with over 200 million entitled people who, encouraged by irresponsible media like AriseTV, are shining their eyes on our so-called oil wealth and expecting manna from heaven. On a per capita basis, Angola and Ghana are more oil wealthy than us. At 2.6 million people, Qatar has just one per cent of our population. Yet, their annual revenue is $68 billion. Two and a half times that of Nigeria. Yet, you listen to people who compare fuelprices in Qatar and other countries to that of Nigeria? Nigeria cannot afford to subsidise the Naira and fuel. If we keep doing that, we will NEVER progress, no matter who is our President!

Help build Nigeria. Do not help the enemies of Nigeria tear her down!

It's not about how much you budget but what you actually do with the money. Even if we're given 500billion dollars yearly, our extremly corrupt and wicked Apc political rulers and Allies will reloot the monies without any tangible results

We need to find ways to generate more revenue...

And this Nigeria's budgets is mostly borrowed.

Sorry to say, this is what you get when you have huge unproductive population, population that thinks they are smart and intelligent by importing what we should be forced to produce and export .

This really doesn't tell you much. How are those budgets funded?

For instance I can have a large, bloated budget
that is almost 100% funded by borrowing.

A better measure is the GDP which gives a clearer indication of a country's productive capacity.

I agree.

We should use our two talents to make ten talents

Nigeria has over the years used our limited oil money for mass welfare projects and looting. It hasn't used it to focus on improving power , rail and gas infrastructure so as to power industrial growth which would enable economic development in real terms

1. Algeria produces about 4 times more oil than we do so more money (actually around the same amount of crude, but for a population of 44.5 million people, compared to our 200 million and more).

2. South Africa has a diversified economy and as such has more money.

3. Egypt has a diversified economy and is a tourism monster. (Everyone must see the Pyramids and the Sphinx at least once. That's billions of kash in hard currency without doing anything)

Modified. On point one, as you can see , I have corrected myself. Kalm down cheesy

. Kill corruption, making sure that politicians with questionable characters don't ever get near power , for example poo'hari & Thief'nubu & see Nigeria's budget surpass the three countries..the country Nigeria is richly blessed with resources than the three countries combined

Incompetent foools like the two mentioned above have no love for the country... Just came to steal, Plunder, enthrone ethnic supremacy, corner & siphone the resources to themselves & goons...while their Internet miscreants tell you that it is because of our Huge population & you should make sacrifices having patience grin grin

Aba and nnewi produce a lot, a whole lot.

Nnewi produces a lot of the small components needed for cars for example.

That doesn't mean Ogun is not an industrial main zone

Lol IGR is just tax

Tax is usually not up to 1 percent of Thier earnings it can be paid indirectly by adding the value to the goods

You're a SW!ne and thus not Economically sound to know that most companies there remit most of their money back home

No wonder Anambra has better GDP than Ogun because the money stay around
