1.the in-laws of the man or woman cause.
2.cheating.,as a woman can still cheat too.
3.sexual appetit.
4.finacial reason.
5.insurbordinate wife.
6.other factors

You people should allow your sister make her choice and stop being meddlesome

does the man have children...does he have a good job to cater for his needs if he is divorced with no kids and has job..u sis better marry him..so single mum dey fine man wey neva marry nawa oo.

The case is not that of a divorced man or woman, but about the person.

Find out about the person himself. It can happen that the relationship didn't just work out because they were not fit for each other.

Divorce does not make anyone a bad person.

Life happens. Find out how the person feels in the relationship and that would help the person answer the question.

I am so sorry for this thing I want to say. .Ask your mum if she can allow you to marry a single mother. It is obvious that your mum wants your sister to marry a single guy who has never married before or has a child. Your sister and the man could actually be a perfect match that will heal each other's wound.

The fact that your sister is a single mother doesn't make her invalid, she deserves all the love, loyalty and most importantly PEACE like every other person.
The fact that your mother has a daughter who is a single mother doesn't make her half a being she deserves the right to protect and look out for her daughter's well being.
Your mum is very right to oppose a union she presume dangerous or unfruitful albeit with valid evidence of course. Once bitten, twice shy ! I respect your mother for being objective and not desperate, some mothers would have been the ones pushing their daughters into marriage irrespective of who the man is.

There are lots of Pros and Cons in marrying or dating a single father or divorcee. Most times the cons tend to be more visible because pros has to do with personality of the person involved and how couples have been able to manage their cons.

My question: Does your sister know this man? The true reason he is divorced? Is she ready face whatever may come with him? Is she ready to accept that in some situations she may not be his priority? Is she marrying for love and commitment and not for wedding ring and title? Is the man really committed to her and not what she has to offer as a woman? Is she ready to be a single mother of more kids if anything goes wrong? Can she love another person's kids.
Let her answer these questions genuinely If she is positive then she can go on to convince your Mom.
