psalmsjob:Now I can confirm that you are not only dmb but foooolish. I don't usually lash out this way especially when anyone expresses an opinion but when you refuse to take corrections then it is OK to call you out. First off, anyone making £1600 in the UK will still have about 400 savings and I did the break down in my previous posts on another thread. Now know that most people make far more than that cos minimum wage is even above the 10 pounds you quoted. Please get sense. |

| Re: Cost Of Living In Nigeria Is Cheaper Than UK Or US by lagosrd: 8:42am On Dec 04, 2023 |
From all indications this writeup will not work for most salary earners. If you calculate that perday them you should be earning around #300k per month. How many people are earning that In a month . Pls go ahead and divide what you earn monthly with 30days and see how worthless those calculations are and moreso, you cost of rent, transport etc |

Difrent:Ungrateful to who? Was it your brain they used to study in the university? And moreso, who subsidized what . Until you stop seeing your right as privileges, Dem you're in your own. So you no get mouth when some people that earn almost 6000% more thsm you annually are buying #110million worth or cars for over 400 of them ? From an importer when your won country is producing cars , even assembling cars. You need to see me, let me explain how thing dey happen in Nigeria now pls top staying abroad in your mind |

| Re: Cost Of Living In Nigeria Is Cheaper Than UK Or US by motymop: 8:50am On Dec 04, 2023 |
Kachidubem:I personally dont know anyone who earn 30k per month. earning 10 pounds per hour in the Uk means you are in the bottom of the food chain and these type of jobs are for very young people or people without the necessary qualification to get an annual salary. also anyone earning 30k per month is also in the botton of the food chain in Nigeria |

Kachidubem:First of all, you sound like one coming from a background of privileges. So your circle will be a circle of people with the same background. Step out of your circle and do your findings. Secondly, you don't have to lie to support your point. 150k -180k as entry-level ![]() I have people in Federal Govt jobs, who have worked for over 10 years, and barely make between 120 - 150k as salary. Then I recommend you research (as in, actually make calls or ask people people outside your circle) on how much is earned monthly by the majority of state govt workers outside Lagos and FCT, or even professionals like lawyers and accountants and then semi-skilled workers like factory workers and hotel staff Even in Lagos 50-70k is still a cap for many semi-skilled workers |

Ashawoman82:Our life here is not broken down to *hourly* that's why I said in some of my comments here that side by side the prices of goods and services is cheaper here so if you see it well you will know that he has to earning more than £10 for the level work he does and what he pays to do the work. |

psalmsjob:So if you know this then what is the point in putting up this baseless write up? |
| Re: Cost Of Living In Nigeria Is Cheaper Than UK Or US by wrongnumber: 9:06am On Dec 04, 2023 |
motymop:The hourly rate is derived from minimum wage.. Simple logic. UK pays £10.42 as minimum hourly rate with means the average monthly wage is 8 hours x 10.42 x 5 days x 4 weeks = About £1600 Nigeria minimum wage is 30k(funny enough some states still pay less) So do the mathematics |

psalmsjob:You are just arguing like a lame man in the bush, you need to understand to each currency its own economy cos onces a Nigerian here Euro or dollar they rush to punch calculator and start using the Naira value to hallucinate, it doesnt work like that. In europe £700 is below the minimum wage (monthly) and it can get you an accomodation in europe bUt In Nigeria 30k minimum wage if accumulated in a year (120k) can't get a self contain anywhere today. You are just arguing blindly, in Nigeria workers are paid monthly not hourly/days .. however just very few multi national companies pay for overtime in Nigeria. A carton of chicken cost 35k in Nigeria which is convertibly less than £30. i.e with a 3hr work in europe he can buy a carton but thats even too much for a person living alone. Lets me sensitize your ignorant ass again, stop using our valueless Naira to juxatpose gibberish, Under europe ecomomic, the lowest worker will easily make £700 in less than 10days that can sort a studio apartment comfortably and have grace to "Save" the most fascinating part is you have the super privilege to augument your income esp when you have a budget/benchmark, just simply put in for more hours or work extra job shift In Nigeria economy "Savings" have being alienated, someone earning 30k can't have a savings that can pay any house rent in these present Nigeria. yesterday it cost me over 2k to eat bread, egg, sausage and tea minus dinner, imagine common bread Better keep quiet |

wrongnumber:what is the logic in what you wrote down Minimum wages is the least amount of payment an employer is required to pay to his/her employee for the hours of work time. This is what the maths says Someone earning 1600 pounds in the Uk is also struggling financially as someone earning 30k per month in Nigeria. |
| Re: Cost Of Living In Nigeria Is Cheaper Than UK Or US by wrongnumber: 10:00am On Dec 04, 2023 |
motymop:That is not my message. I was only trying to let you know how you can narrow down the average hourly wage in Nigeria. People earn more than 1600 in UK and also people earn over 30k in Nigeria. |
