Let the person that is more financially capable be the main applicant and add the other person as a dependent.

Please for a couple wanted apply visit visa together, were they going to open a separate IRCC profile account or just only one profile for both couple

Few hours ago, you posted on USA thread that your husband wanted you to go to USA and you asked if it was a good idea for him to follow you. Now on Canada thread, you are a widow. Why are you people like this?

Good morning everyone,
My spouse is a student in Canada, rounding up studies this month.
My SOWP was refused in August, I applied for a visit visa on September 4th, I’m yet to get a decision. Sent a webform and email last month and got a reply saying it was still within the process time.
It’s now about 12weeks and I’m worried. We are a young couple and wish to be together for Christmas at least. We’ve been apart for 8months and it’s draining mentally for both of us.

Please what do you advise I do?

Thank you for your kind response.

I believe you have done the right thing by reaching out to IRCC. All you need to do now is wait, but if it has been 4 months since the biometric was done and you don't hear from them, then you can contact them again.

The current processing time for applications submitted in Nigeria is 110 days after biometrics.

I submitted my passport on the 7th of November at the Lagos vfs for stamping and till now no collection mail. I’ve sent them mails, calls and everything and nothing has happened. I even went to the vfs office in to check if it has been returned back but they said it hasn’t been returned. I really don’t know what to do anymore.

Did you pay for the newly introduced transmission fee of N17,280 that took effect on the 2nd on November?
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by meljoe: 7:34pm On Dec 06, 2023
I didn’t pay any money , when I picked up and I picked up last week Thursday

Sir, you got it wrong. The package transmission fee you're talking about is not newly introduced, and not everyone will pay the fee.

Applicants who submit their passport or travel documents at the same VFS location where they initially provided biometrics will not pay the package transmission fees. Note that you will be charged the transmission fee if you submit your passport to a different VFS location.

For example, if you provided your biometrics at VFS Lagos and submitted your passport at the Lagos VFS location after visa approval, you won't pay the package transmission fee, but you will be charged if you take it to Abuja or any other VFS location outside Lagos.

Bro, show any of my post where I was arguing. I never claimed to be an expert or agent, only give information I have.

This forum is designed for people to get information or to learn one or 2 things, I will never argue with no one.

My wife paid for the transmission fee because she did her first biometrics outside the country. They made her to pay during her passport submission, but my brother on the other hand, didn’t pay because he submitted his passport to same VFS location where he did his biometric.

As per my brother, this is his first visa, and he did the biometric August this year. Maybe that was why, I don’t know.

I might be wrong, but the information posted on VFS website doesn’t say otherwise.

No doubt. I don't believe it is right but we just allow VFS to do all sort of nonsense to us

@hola55 said the transmission fee exemption only applies to first timer. You are not a first timer, that might be the reason you were charged.

He or she (hola55) might be right that the charges are not for first timer.

But he was wrong on the part where he said the fee was introduced newly.

Anyway, anyone who is going for passport submission should go with package transmission fee to avoid any issues.
