we make it here....local consumption will come before export....and since the government owns 20% he dares not produce and prioritize export over local consumption
look at you having hope on that inflated 20%, DId you know the cost of that 20% was enough to build a whole new refinary?so the fraud began even B4 the refinery was completed.

What's the need for having a refinery if it's refined goods will be more expensive than imported refined goods?

Why are we pumping billions to repair failed refineries when it's selling price wouldn't be any different from imported goods?
Save forex at least.

I'm not understanding, you mean we should have taking the money to build another refinery which won't be ready for another 5 to 7 years depending on economic situations as against investing in one that would open in a few weeks......wow....just wow......why didn't anyone think of that.....🤔
Re: Dangote Set To Flood African Market With Refined Petroleum Products by Sammy101111(m):
Will it change petrol price ??
but I thought Dangote refinery he was building was to help Nigeria to refine petrol at a cheaper rate now he’s selling the petrol direct and refining the petrol him sell and selling it out ( he’s making double even more than NNpc if Dangote set up a refinery

look,i deal with facts not phantasies....

remember what was happenin when fuel was still subsidies by fg....??

people smuggled it across borders to neighborin countries....
what makes you think the circle could not start all over again when fuel is cheaper here....??
cause no more subsidy.....whatever rate we buy here is what they will buy to......and anyone who wants to smuggle will factor cost of transport into it.....people smuggled cause government already paid part of the landing cost of the fuel which they could now sell to others at full price......hence giving them profits from two sides.

@ the time the 20% was sold the Dangote refinery was still in block and Morta stage.
The underlining issue here is it was over prised.
You want to hear something even funnier, the Diesel it is going to produce will be Euro 5, so developed world won't buy it as they use Euro6 Diesel a silly decision on his part.

Because the refined fuel we were importing was

1.Being refined in out of date refineries, which reduced the cost of refining...and which was why the fuel we were importing was basically dirty grade fuel

2. Government is subsidizing it, even now.

If supply exceeds demand, price should fall… also the monopoly must be broken as quickly as possible. I personally wish the licence was issued to BUA and not Dangote… I think Mr Rabiu is more of an humanist… Dangote is a very shrewd and notorious business man!

😂Help Nigeria to refine?

Dangote is a businessman. The lowest he can go is 700 naira.
What's stopping Nigeria government from waking up their dead refineries?
Other African countries are willing to buy his product higher.

When he dares to priotitize export you will go and arrest him, i guess. grin some of you people on here needs to ge out more.,

BUA is building a refinery...250000 bpd.

Also, the truth is, there were over 60 licences issued. Only six got taken up (not counting BUA). The real reason why there isn't more than that is because subsidy prevented anyone from making a profit refining fuel in Nigeria: Dangote is taking a risk unless government lets him sell at market price.

lol....nice wordplay.

I still dey HODL my dollar stash sha. Will be following the trends....till then.

To the folks here, make I epp una answer some of your questions. If the refinery does start, the price of fuel will largely remain same or even higher. So don't expect cheaper fuel. What you will expect as a benefit is more Forex to go round..forex that would have gone into importing fuel will now be saved, meaning more available Forex, meaning the exchange rate gets better IF the rogues y'all put in power don't mop it all up.

That announcement you heard was formalities. It was sold far B4 you heard about it.Go back to google and type in when Dangote refinery was inaugurated and see what answer it gives you, I'm here waiting.
