Same as the so called engineers(gadgets repairers). If any of your gadget, whether phone or laptop spoil for Nigeria, just go for a new one.

My guy na mechanic be the most annoying. If you no get car you no go understand.

Imagine you buy chassis and you employ road side mechanic to de service am , car wey u buy like 12m
You never reach 6months car don de make sound, new car go de stop for road, weird things just start happening...
Mechanic de spoil your car, de steal your car parts, de inflate prices.

All government officials can be tamed if you are wise and humble. If people tell you their story with mechanics you fit cry.

I know one old woman that always call her mechanic to carry her car to his shop, sometimes she will travel and leave the car in his care. This was a new car, within 2 yrs the car started shaking, battery and key starter problems, the car came with back seat screen the screen stopped working, started consuming tremendous amount of fuel and power steering fluid..

I just pity the woman because till date she still trusts him

If you are a car owner in Nigeria you need to be very sharp and attentive, before you take your car to any mechanic you must first try as much as possible to diagnose the problem.

I bought a car in August, a direct Belgium car, as soon as I bought the car I called my mechanic to change the tyres and brake pads, guess what?
After changing tyres, this mechanic intentionally put bad, oversized brake pads, after like 2 days I started noticing smoke from my tyres, whenever I match brake I will hear a very loud noise I was angry so I called the mechanic again and told him the issue, he said brake pad is ok that I need to change one disk shaped metal that the brake pad rests on, I did so for
25k and after 24hr the noise returned, he already removed the follow come stuff and replaced it with an ugly rusted one. I was suspicious.
When the noise returned I decided to take it to total filling station mechanics, after explaining to the guys they said the problem is the brake pad. They changed it and till this day no single noise from my tires, I haven't changed brake pad since then.

Since then I have met 2 different mechanics and one thing I discovered was that these mechanics usually give wrong diagnosis intentionally especially if your car is still neat with follow come parts, example if your ac gas finish they will say you need to change ac sensor, they will remove your follow come ac sensor and put substandard one. After everything they will sell your follow come sensor to spare parts dealers and before you know it your car will be a total mess.

Bros, you will not have a phone and not know a little or two thing about the phone . I am saying if you have a property, you will know little about what you own.. Same with your car. When a mechanic removes something from your car, endeavour that he gives you the removed car part and replace it with the exact replacement.

All the removed parts should be given to you. Then also find and research faults yourself .

Well, I am saying this , maybe because I am "Engineering" oriented

the pumping machine comes with the power bank and the jumpstart cables for the car. you are looking at 40,000 naira for all.

its very effective. has saved me many times when idiots let the air out of my tyre because i park in front of their house

Do you know that my mechanic deliberately loosed the oil cover underneath my car so that engine oil will be leaking from the car to create issues, I noticed the engine oil was leaking I had to squeeze myself underneath the car to inspect the problem and I noted that all the nuts under the car were loosed, I called him and instructed him to come over to come and tighten what he deliberately loosed, he came and tighten them and since then I don't have that issue anymore and I stopped dealing with him.

Lol this kin thing almost make me fight mechanic last yr. I was using a German car last year and on evening the car stopped and refused to start, the mechanic came that evening saying its plug we changed plug that night still car no start, we continue the next day, he said to change fuel pump, still no start.. trial and error my car de outside for good 2 days on the second day the guy managed to get the car to start but then all my dash board light came on, oil light, fuel light, engine light, seeing that I was pissed he gave up and decided to take me to a German car specialist but on the way the car stopped omoh... so we called the specialist to come meet us. He came and connected his laptop to the car and told us it electrical fault after I already spent more than 50k on fuel pump I was about to Assault my mechanic but people held me, finally I bought some fuse and stuff after every every I didn't spend up to 10k. I left mechanic shop by 9pm, dust, heat finished my life that day
U suppose blow the mouth of the nearest person wey hold u 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm grateful now for being curious when I was very young and had started driving. I asked questions and got intimate with car engines, though it was the days of Peugeot 504 but I understood alot and whenever the car has issues I stay with the mechanic and learned the names of all parts of the engine.
Now, no matter what happens, I've a bit of idea even if the mechanic finalizes his diagnosis. Car owners should try to learn a bir about some faults... you may not fix it yourself but you might contribute to diminish most guesswork of these roadside mechanics! At least, to an extent.

Very correct ! After much troubles from one 9ja used car to the other, I decided to get a small car till I gather money to buy a foreign used probably corolla . So I got a 1995 honda accord pending the time I'd get what I want. So I noticed some oil leaks in the engine of my 'new' ride so I took it to Mr MEC . The first thing he asked is if I have checked the ball joints and I told him that my ball joints are ok that he should only do what I told him to do. Guess what ? After fixing the leaks my "ball joints " developed problem so I called to inform him and he responded that he told me already. I was disturbed, the next day I approached another mechanic who detected that it wasn't the ball joints but someone has lossen the bolts holding the car shock absorbers. So he tightened them and my car rides again perfectly.
That day, my first MEC called me and asked when I would like to fix my ball joints before it pulls out, I was completely speechless I just ended the call and blocked him. Never in my life will he touch my car again
