Go and sit-down or better still hug a transformer.

You must be a narcissist. Everything must operate in your world view and if it doesn't then it is impossible. What daft way of thinking.

It's your type we have littered all over various organizations in Nigeria, making the work environment a very bitter one to the point that people resign and leave the country to work for Organisations led by sane individuals.

Rubbish!
No name of bank; no name of the position and no name of the skyscraper he cleans. Call me whatever you like, it is not possible! So, how come KPMG managers in Nigeria don't become cleaners in the UK?

You do not have a clue of waht a manager should be.You do not manage the Job, thats is micro managing you instead Manage people.I will use myself as an Example, I am a manger where I work and I have 11 supervisors who intern have 5 person on thier team at a time these are constant anything else is temp. Now we have 4 doctors on our team as the law requires us to do.I manage them all does that mean I now have to have a degree in medical science?I have Electrical Engineers on my team so as structural Engineers, Im only a Fluid Engineer so do I need to have an Elecect Elect to manage those who are Electrical Engineers? Managing people is a whole different set of skills .A Hospital manager does not need to be a doctor. Sometimes yah lot need to chill and think outta the box
Apt and well put!

I am surprised you've spent untold amount of
time and energy in a thread you called a lie. Why bother arguing with people? Your looking for attention or you just want to sound smart?

Well congrats, I've given you the opportunity. 😏

If the manager in question was in the grade this earns 1.7m per year, he wouldn't have left Nigeria.
People earn higher than that and still leave, its all choice.

It's a lowly and low level paying job..Oya not intellectually tasking ....

Funny how 80% of those Japaa'ing as u guys term it in Nigeria are all yoruba people grin

On the other hand, this Bola mandate seems to be favouring the Igbos and every Igbo man is cashing out, spending money like water in the Bola Administration.

My question is: Does it mean this Administration is not favouring the yoruba clownish tribe?

Has Bola turned his back on his people?

How come the people that were supposed to be taught severe lessons are the head teachers now?

Questions wey no geti answer.
Here is the best reply for a fellow like u.

Depends on the pay and future oriented goals pertaining to himself and kids.

Average Bank manager salary in Nigeria: N11,000,000/ annum.
Average skyscraper salary in UK: £27,304/annum. Or N30,000,000 to N35,000,000

Do the maths.
who told you a bank manager earns that low? That’s a mid level salary in some banks. A manager in a bank earns up to 30m these days.

No I'm not blind. How much is 700 dollars in naira compared to a manager's salary in Nigeria?

You obviously know nothing about banking in Nigeria if you are celebrating 700 dollars per month as good pay

Smart move or not?
Bank managing job could be more time consuming and stress inducing than cleaning job. Sometimes in life, we need to take life easy and live a stressless life.

Naija bad whether na water the grass or not.

The country is very bad.

Everything is falling apart, people are barely coping.

Save us the sermon of if he bad for your eye...

Everyone, both the rich and the poor are paying more than times 2 than what they used to, but wages and salary have barely change, some even reduce the wages of their workers to keep business afloat.

Many who are not moving today don't have the means to, others cannot risk it, why some others don't know how to cope in a new environment, especially when they don't have anyone expecting them on the other side.

Some are criminals who find 9ja as a safer haven for their criminal activities.

Our politicians literally don't believe in the country, except for the ease to loot public resources. They easily run to foreign institutions for better health and vacations.

No one is more faithful and hopeful than the poor, but most still remain poor regardless of what they believe in.

Many have been watering but there is little to no yield.

It is either you match your prices aggressively to inflation or fold up completely.

The country is bad and very bad is on the lips of the successful and the unsuccessful... undecided

Didn't he pay for the IHS which covered his healthcare? You're talking as if the healthcare is free there. As long as you're not working in healthcare, UK will collect IHS fee from you before approving your VISA

I guess when he got there and saw the pile of bills staring him in the face he had no choice but to grab the next available job.

If you are gainfully employed in naija, you don't need to japa. Japa is for someone who has no hope of ever getting a job in Nigeria. He'll appreciate any kind of job he finds there.
If you have no hope of getting a job in nigeria.
Wtf do you intend to get money to travel if you have no where/family/relatives to go to?

I doubt the authenticity of that story. Most of these stories are fabricated. A former bank manager in Nigeria can easily get a management or accounting job anywhere in the world.
Let me tell you.. You can’t come to America and immediately start with the job you were in in Nigeria. My first job in America was dishwashing. An older Nigerian who was working as a physiotherapist with the national sport ministry in Nigeria was my dishwashing coworker. We were washing dishes together on $9 per hour. This same person has traveled the world with Nigerian national team on different occasions.

To ensure current and future readers don't believe your lie. Have you noticed no one has responded to my question if a cleaner in the UK has a higher living standard than a McKinsey consultant in Nigeria?
Re: Japa: From Bank Manager To Skyscraper Cleaner by DAENNINGA(m): 6:16pm On Dec 16, 2023
Nazgul:
The question you should be asking is how much does a bank manager earn in Nigeria?

If you must know, no bank in Nigeria pays their branch managers up to N1m. On an average, they earn between 500-600k. (That's about $600 not pounds o)

A skyscraper window cleaner in the UK earns about £23,000. With that amount, you can live comfortably in the UK.

Aside the risks involved in the job, I won't say he made a bad choice.
I must commend your thinking. I am not so sure of the £23,000 annual earning. If it be correct then it cannot be more than 3 days a week. A job that earns you 23k annually on full time is not a good paying job. Any way, any job in the UK is better than a bank branch manager's job in Nigeria

There are countless software engineers who left Nigeria for the US and worked as software engineers. They went via H1B visa. Others started working after school. What visa did you use to enter the US?

It's only in Nigeria that you guys shame someone doing an honest job...but praise illegitimate earners.. sick people

Developed countries like UK US, dude all legitimate jobs are the same, they can pay you as the same if you are skillful and experienced.
Bank managers/doctors no dey earn pass plumbers/electricians/ HVAC technicians,

The funny things you guys don't know is that over 98% of Nigerians are poor, even those bank managers/doctors..

Reason this, here in the US, almost everybody get cars, fill their tanks easily once or twice a week, can eat any food dem want or drink champagne, wear Nike, Adidas, use latest phones.
Now how many so called bank mangers/ so called comfortable le people in nigeria can comfortably afford these?
