Elders in the house, I thought having a well managed CCs is a good way to building one's credit score. Why is my case different na? Here is my journey so far:

I and my partner arrived the UK in August last year. I tried to get CCs for both of us but were denied by AMEX, monzo and Lloyd's. Luckily for us, it didn't affect our Credit score. My partner is a full time worker while I was a student working part-time.
I decided not to apply again until last month.
My partner got accepted by two CC companies (zable and Capital one) while I applied for only Zable and got as well. Whenever we use the CCs we pay back latest after 1 to 2 days. We try to maintain a zero balance.

I recently checked our Credit scores on Transunion, they were OK. But to my greatest surprise, my partner's score on Experian had dropped by over 100 points within one month of using CC and reported a credit balance of just £28 out over £400 credit limit. While mine reported zero balance but dropped by only 1 point. My experian credit score remain Fantastic.

My question is, elders in the house, does it mean it's better not to have a CC? How would they drastically reduce my partner's credit score when im no get any due repayment (just £28 she spent and she paid back the next day or so ).

Your major issue is that you applied, and got credit cards via ‘herd mentality’.
You did not do even the most basic research into the workings of credit card vs credit file va credit history.

Don’t worry. Your scores will rise.

Doesn't matter.

Continue using the cards responsibly and ignore the 'scores' on those websites. They're irrelevant to any credit application. It's your history of using credit responsibly that matters, and one year is certainly not enough to begin panicking.

What you need to keep track of is factors like hard searches, your presence on the electoral register, etc. A stellar credit profile will come naturally over time.

Try to sort this loan from other sources, credit card cash advance should be your very last resort because it is not cheap and it has very dire consequences for your credit journey more importantly as you are just trying to find your footing. You don't want to start with such weight hanging around your neck.
All the best.
Thank you for the advice. Please can you point me through, where I can get the loan... I am actually looking at a short term loan that can be paid off in 12 months or before then.
Honestly wouldn't want to run afoul of any laws.

Have you found out why his service was disengaged.......

Best to find out reason, whilst seeking another form of employment.......

Thanks for your response. The Agency staff said the company wants less staff. He has started applying.
Yes he has his international driving license and can drive both manual and automatic cars

I don't know if Amazon logistics accepts international DL...... If they do, he could start delivering Amazon parcels (he could earn £150 per day) or even more ......

None of them is good and advisable to withdraw from

If i may ask, why are you seeking to withdraw cash from a CC. You do realize you can pay for most things with a CC just as normally as your debit card or is Cash the only accepted means of payment around you?

Anyways if you decide to go further in applying for a CC. You could consider Amex they are quite lax in giving recent migrants cards (depending on personal circumstance)

Here's a referral link : https://americanexpress.com/en-gb/referral/oLUSEFjGPz?XL=MIANS

I just applied with this link, i hope it is successful.

How long will it take before I hear from them

Merry Christmas all.
I am new to the UK, September 2023. I am looking for a good credit card that can allow me to withdraw the cash and not just buying things with it. Please which one is good and advisable to apply for?

You need a money transfer card. You also need an excellent credit history/rating to get one of such cards.

Remember every credit application you make leaves a footprint and any full credit application will remain on your credit profile for sometime.

More information on money transfer credit cards here - https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/money-transfers/ and here - https://www.comparethemarket.com/credit-cards/money-transfer/

Each time you apply for and get multiple CC, it affects your credit score because they see you as wholly dependent on credits.

Also allow the CC companies get their money from you through the direct debit instead of paying it off manually but don't owe past the due date so as not to incurr charges.

Their is a link on experian called experian boost let him click it and link to his uk accounts. As long as he has series of direct debits it will boost his records by up to 50%. I did and it worked for me

Paying back immediately (1 or 2 days) is not the best way to use CCs to your advantage, set up direct debit to clear off your balance at the end of each cycle and don’t use more than 30% of your limit and don’t withdraw cash with it. That is the best way to use CCs for credit score growth.

The reason your scores dropped was because of the Hard Search which was recently done. They have an impact and takes 6 months to leave your file. However you should begin to see a gradual improvement from next month

You should start to panic, if she is admitted..... An NHS overnight bed alone is £600(without consultations, treatments and medications)........ NHS go tear you better bill...😂

She's able to go to the hospital but would have to incur out of pocket costs. Depending on the level of care/treatment required.

One is unable to estimate how much this would be but could probably be about 300 for a single non-referral, non Specialist, no further testing appointment or north of a thousand quid.

Again this all depends on the condition and level of treatment required.

If not an emergency and extreme case, I'd try to manage grandma with what she's probably already used to. Or perhaps grandma is just missing Nigeria ? smiley

Thank you so much

You can choose to decline...... But the medics would overrule your decision........

The way all sort of forms would be filled on patients behalf, would shock you ......

Your only saving grace would be, if the patient got capacity and is able to express medical needs. ...........😁😜

NB: if a patient arrives A&É unconscious, would you decline admission.........🤣😄

Because they are different and calculate using different algorithms.

There are three main credit reporting companies - Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. Totally Money use TransUnion while Clears score use Equifax.

Greetings all,

Abeg I need help with getting WhatsApp verification code. I just woke up 3 days ago and noticed WhatsApp logged me out. I tried logging in back and keep getting ‘unable to send code’. I also tried the call option and got same error code of unable to call. I’ve deleted the WhatsApp countless time but I still keep getting same error to try back after an hour. I keep going in cycles and the 1 hour never ends.

I initially thought it’s my sim but I was able to get other code like Telegram code, bank alert message and also chatted Glo on Twitter which they also sent me a ‘Test code’ without issues. I have sent an email to WhatsApp regarding this issue but no response till now.

Please what else can I do to get this code from WhatsApp. Attach here is the response I keep getting
