Please note, nothing like international driver's license, what is recognised here is the Normal Nigeria Driver's license (was informed this by a police) and you can use it for 12 months from your date on UK entering. celi4ever2k5: 2 Likes |

Goke7: Help me alaysw this situation here, I have someone on a 5yrs COS (entered March 2023) but her work shift is inconsistent (25-30hrs weekly). She later got another sponsorship offer 1-2yrs COS (because she's changing sponsorship) and the maximum working time of over 40hrs is 100% sure. Is it advisable she stick with her old COS with less work time or opt for the new offer starting from January 2024. With her renewal of new COS in 1-2yrs time (if she went with that option) won't all this inconsistent policy affects her application if her salary fails to meet the salary threshold. |

Nigerian Arrested For Chatting, Sending Intimate Pictures To Underage Girl In UK Despite the extent to which this sort of news have gone viral on so many occasions, yet we are still having blokes messing up big time. I don't know if to term this as ignorance, sheer stupidity or just a dirty habit that have refused to go away. This is really embarrassing to say the least! https://www.nairaland.com/7951090/nigerian-arrested-chatting-sending-intimate |

Good morning. It should display on your screen the outcome of your application after submitting your details. Perhaps you missed out on this. If successful and approved, you should get your card in 10 working days. Datakey: |

I believe the person can only do 20hrs for another care company and not outside of the care occupation. lightofjoy: 2 Likes |

adekzy: If her goal is ILR, then her present 5 yr CoS will likely put this in jeopardy because when she comes to apply for ILR, she has to evidence that her current employer still has a valid sponsorship license (which is precarious given that the company is not able to provide the required level of paid work), and Home Office can verify the amount of tax paid throughout the 5 year period. If there is a difference between income stated on the application versus income reported to HMRC, or tax not paid in previous employments/years, then the application will most likely be refused. Switching to a new CoS is fine because she will not fall under the new policies, however she is likely to face issues when applying for ILR due to not meeting the salary requirement under the old CoS 4 Likes |

Jump on the 1-2 yrs COS and do maximum time. The new regulation won't affect those already in before the implementation of the new rules. Staying on the old 5 year COS may affect the person when applying for ILR in the future because of the inconsistent work hours. adekzy: 3 Likes |

Good day house, I just need encouragement from you all. I entered UK early this month and I've been job hunting, mehn it hasn't been easy at all. I apply not less that 20 jobs daily and I keep getting the unfortunately mail. I live around Manchester. Just want my senior men to encourage me cos sometimes when I see the mail, it kills my moral but regardless I'll keep applying, hoping this phase will pass soon. 1 Like |

It depends on the kind of fines you received. Fixed penalty notices / penalty charge notices are fines for minor driving offences which doesn't need to be declared and will not normally result in refusal. Ukliving: 2 Likes |

jum33: I wouldn’t say socialising with fellow Naija or going to religious houses is the gateway to getting jobs, although it has helped some to get settled quickly. I will advice the OP to tailor his CV to meet the requested skills and ensure he indicates his transferable skills in situations where he has no direct experience in a particular job. @OP If you have a good CV, you will get noticed. Use Chatgpt to write your CV. Do this and trust me you will get noticed. You can also use chatgpt to answer possible interview questions. It really helped me and it can help you as well. Aside Indeed, google contacts of recruitment agencies in your area and call them about your availability for jobs. You can start working menial jobs with an agency while waiting for the corporate job to click on indeed. I was doing cleaning jobs with an agency till my corporate job in an energy company clicked. It’s a phase, you will be fine. A lot of us passed through this phase. Best of luck bro 4 Likes 1 Share |
