Hi everyone,
I just registered with Mashmallow Insurance with my UK provisional driver's license.

I indicated that I had driven for 13 years while back in Nigeria and made no claims before coming to the UK.

Now the vehicle insurance is requesting a "proof of your no-claims discount." How do I go about this?

Your kind advice is needed.

Thanks

I hope your insurance company in Nigeria, is a bona fide underwriter, not those area boys that produce insurance certificates for ₦5K......... 😂

Is there no "nigerian way" we can use to get the claim proof without "burning" ones finger or do the uk insurance company verify how legit the claim proof docs submitted are?

Try get the proof but if you can’t, just renegotiate. My opinion though

My Insurance asked me for a no claim proof here in the UK, anything outside UK isn’t accepted by them and I’ve already signed a contract with them before they told me that. I just called their customer support and explained to the guy that as at when i was looking for quotes at Confused.com, it wasn’t indicated that it must be a UK no claim bonus only. I just renegotiated the deal and they added £50 on top the £1080 they charged before with their service fee. That’s the easier route for me because i and my previous Insurance in the Country i used to live, parted ways on a bad note. I no fit dare call their number for anything.

No fault, it’s a car with just one owner and she didn’t really drive it that much due to her health condition. The story long but it’s all good. Thanks

It's a very good thing you paid deposit via your brother's credit card....... If you have a S75 claim, don't mention this 3rd party transaction, because his credit card company might bring out their golden book of excuses......... 🤣😜

NB: Allow your brother proceed with the claim, independently.......

Alright, i will do as you’ve said, thanks

Thanks for all the details man.
Let me ask my questions at the risk of sounding like an uninformed “expatriate” 😉 My people say who dey ask question no Dey loss.

Jokes aside, I have an inspection coming up. From Autotrader (private seller)
Car specs:
2016 Vauxhall Corsa
Petrol
Automatic (madam cannot drive manual)
40k+ miles

Quoted price is ~£7k.

My question:
Assuming inspection goes well, how can I beat price down like you to like £5-6k? Share your tips pls.

What protection can I get from a private guy? Cash payment or transfer? I have his house address for inspection, does it help? Thanks in advance.

If i ask someone "is that your best price?". If it takes them time to respond, i know there’s room for negotiation. Works every time

Does Private sellers have card machines? It should be bank transfer. From what i’ve read here, i don’t think there’s any protection. I think everything is sold as is. I may be wrong though.

HMRC used a sarcastic post on X quoting a Sky News story to remind Luke Littler of his income tax obligations after his remarkable run to the World Darts Championship final.

Thank you. You got a very good deal. My search begins.

Tenski:

Abeg no vex.

I searched on Autotrader and CarGurus but got mine on Autotrader. The car dealership is close to where i live. Rang them up and went there. The sales man gave me the keys to test drive while holding on to my license. The car drives like a dream. All major checks were done. The price was £6,800 but i negotiated it down to £5,600. The negotiation took a long process but they finally accepted but the best they could do is give me 3 months warranty on the car.

Specs
1.2 litre engine
2015 model
21,232 Miles
2 keys
Full service History
MOT and Full service done for free

Just as Oga Lexus and some others advised, i paid half the amount with my brothers Credit card just for a little protection. While i transferred the other half to them.

Facebook too many scammers
Gumtree same thing
Ebay most cars i found on there were far away

Any questions abeg ask, thanks

My insurance is with marshmallow as well and it is almost a year now. I have a 4-year no claim discount with them. What I did was to request mutual benefit insurance in nigeria to give me a letter of no claim from them and I uploaded it. After like 3 working days, marshmallow came back to say that they ve accepted my NCD. I guess they validated it. You can do same as long as you left your former insurer on a good note.

I need an advise. We all know that international students are not required to apply or collect government money. So, I am an international student and the uni I study is where I also work. This year January the school said they would make a one-off payment to all staff to ease the high cost of living. For my level it's £500. This is not government money, it's the school that is paying, I believe I can accept the money??

I have a question here please.

A recently graduated student in youkay got a care COS in England but has not used it to apply for visa. He also got another health care job in Scotland but the coy in scotland is not able to generate a new COS for him because they said it is showing on the system that he has a COS. This person preferred Scotland to England. Please advise on what he needs to do.

Note. I have not seen a case like this before, what I always know is someone switching from an existing COS to an undefined COS

Happy New year people

I don't think TechNation was paused but another Agency has been reassigned. Also, I am an exceptional promise and also a Software Engineer.

My question ❓:

I am trying to put my documentation together, I just need directions so that I can submit something convincing.

For Example:
🚀 Personal Statement and Guidelines
🚀 Professional Reference statement and Guidelines

Though, I have some pioneer products that I have worked on Both Fin-tech and Health Tech and currently have a one Year experience working for a UK company here.

Total Experience in Tech = 5+ Years
