My wife carried my first son for 40 weeks and 4 days in 2014. We tried everything including traditional medicine pineapple, music, curry stew, very long work, prayers and finally the boy arrived.

You still have like 2-3 weeks. Gestation period isn't exactly 40weeks but a range.

Since you're on antenatal and being monitored, once that time lapse they'll admit you and do the needful. Why you dey hurry? You want January first baby ni?

Tomorrow marks it 3 weeks my baby is here with the mother(39 weeks 5 days). She did 4 scans all tru her pregnancy. The latest one was my concern when we notice discomfort amd the report didn't seems well. Remember induction is a forceful way to extract a baby and very painful and most tyms as I was told the baby might be too weak to accept such procedure. You don't want to have to struggle your baby out.
CS was our option, I signed the consent form and my spouse didn't have to eat anything. In the morning around 8am she was already in the ward. After anatesia, the doctor performed the cut under her belle line to expose her gauging uterus. The rest was pulling the baby out and the head was the last to follow.
I watched it like a movie scene with courage and praying.
At the end I smiled and the mother is OK and fully recovered. I don knack her one, but na slow slow 5 days ago self..

Congrats but pls let heal first before having sex with her next time

You need serious prayer. Delay in delivery or overdue pregnancy is not good at all. It may lead to birth defect or deformity.

I feel your Anxiety, my wife was in same situation a year ago, doctor advised inducement is 50/50 Baby might or might not come out. if it fails it's straight CS.. pls don't risk inducement just go straight for a CS it's safer for the baby and you. Pls don't patronize quack doctors.

Allow nature to do it's work at the appropriate time you will go into labour

Well then I totally disagree with the topic.

I've worked with reproductive care specialists and I've seen so many avoidable cases of loss of mother and child or either one to know how delicate it is.

And for your info, a lot of people take advice and prescription outside of medical circles because of this so-called "experience" which sometimes end up harming them and their babies.

You're also making the same mistake. There's a choice for O&G specialist to make between induction, CS or waiting for natural birth in this circumstance that is not just done based on experience but on verified lab tests and other parameters.

Nobody can do that for the pregnant Op here. Some people are already recommending ewedu while another is saying go to a spiritualist!

This year alone, I know how many mothers have been lost at childbirth. Just yesterday, a family visited me with their grandchild whose mother died after childbirth two years ago. Childbirth is not child's play where everyone should be forming experience.

Let her face her doctors and family members for support and care not individuals who hardly know her and her pregnancy.

Read my comments very quickly well. No where did I recommend her to take everything she hears.
Despite all the advice I still advice it'll wise to seek the opinion of her obstetrician where all those parameters you mentioned will be assessed.
I still stand up to it that most comes here not really for the advice but to be relived by reassuring words-"this happens to me too, but I thank God finally"

please, just go to better government hospital, induction is not good at all , it would affect the baby's brain, sometimes the baby would become weak , if your husband has money let them bring the child out, it is the safest.. please don't do anything by yourself..

Anxiety at this stage of pregnancy is natural, please relax. You have come so far, do not do anything that will affect your child's life or health in the future.

•Do not ingest Castor oil to induce labour.
It can make you stool a lot and distress the baby.

•Pineapple and Dates might help get the baby out faster and reduce labour time.

•Sex, exercise and dancing also helps.

•Walking up and down the stairs. Please do not run and fall.

•I have read that warm baths and okra helps.

Don't stress yourself, you don't want to get to the labour room tired. It is best to share your fears with your gynae and remember that the baby will come when it is time. Wish you safe delivery.
